Scalepaw stayed quiet as the meeting commenced, his ears pricking up as he heard his name. A gulp came through his throat as he got up. His paws stepping carefully on the group and his tail dragged in the dirt as he walked through the crowd of cats, his ears lowering as he sat down behind the kits. His tail curled around his paws as he waited for twilightstar

Snowybreeze would have sighed with relief if not for the obvious discomfort Scalepaw was in. He seemed nervous. Much more so than he'd ever seemed before. The massive warrior could not blame his older brother for this. Life had been unkind to the clan as a whole of late, and he had certainly been among the ones who'd suffered most. Shuffling closer towards the gray tom, the patched warrior lay down besides him, pressing his pelt comfortingly at his side until Twilightstar began addressing the clan. Or rather, until Twilightstar leaped from the Galewood to be among the rest of them?

Head tilting with curiosity as the leader gathered her wits, he blinked sympathetically at her explanation. Snowybreeze was fond of trees. In the they look pretty at a distance sort of way. Climbing one had never even been in his mind before they'd arrived to their new home and he saw Twilightstar heading into her den. He would imagine it wasn't the most pleasant of experiences. Gratefully, it seemed that wasn't deterring the leader from continuing the meeting, as kits were called for their apprentice ceremony. Snowybreeze's toes wiggled with glee at the mentioned names, knowing Twistedpaw and Berryfrost would be happy to see their younger siblings earn their ranks as paws.

It was the next name called that surprised the pale warrior, mismatched ears perked as he turned to look at his brother. Shock clear on his face, he watched the gray apprentice get up. It was clear what he was being called for, he was sure! Despite the injuries the apprentice had sustained, he had survived! He had battled to save others, to defend the clan! Surely that was worthy of any warrior! So then why... why did Scalepaw look so dejected? Sitting up to keep a closer eye on the apprentice, Snowybreeze sent silent encouragement towards his brother. Hopefully once he gained his warrior name - because there could be no other reason for Twilightstar to be calling him - he would perk up and see that there would always be a place in the clan for him.

Ignoring her feelings of abandonment by her nephew, Moorpaw turned her attention back to where she last saw Twilightstar, only for the lilac leader to not be where she'd expected.
Confused, she let her eyes scan for the leader.
Surely, had she fallen unceremoniously, there'd be a commotion? And yet the crowd seemed to have gone quieter than usual.
Well, she finally decided to look at the base of the tree as she heard Twilightstar speak again.
Ah, there she was. Nothing terrible had happened to her after all.
Part of her was grateful that as Scalepaw was called for his warrior ceremony, that she would not be joining him. She was far from ready and she would be reluctant to suddenly not have Dapplebreeze at her side.
The warrior had scarcely had any chance to train her with everything that had been going on recently.
But that would be changing soon. She was fairly sure her mentor had a plan for it all.

Brightkit's eyes lit up. It was today! She tried to calm her stride, but gave up halfway there and bounded the rest of the way. She was an apprentice!

Rabbiteyelanced at his former apprentice, something akin to pride shining in his eyes.

Pigeonear let out a morrow of amusement. It was nice to see kits so excited to become apprentices. She glanced at the apprentice known as Scalepaw. He was going to become a warrior. She turned her head to face her son, Fallownose. She blinked before turning back to Twilightstar. She cracked a small smile.

She giggled as Brightkit bounded up to Twilightstar. It was nice. She shuffled her paws. It was weird not being in the old camp. In a blink of an eye, everything that WindClan had built, had been burned down. She shivered at the memory of the fire. She was lucky that she had survived.

Milkpaw limped away from the apprentices' den with a cough and scanned the clearing for a few seconds before deciding where to seat. It felt all... so weird. Doesn't look like home. Not yet, at least.
Instinctively, he sneaked beside Snowybreeze despite the fact that he was already talking with another apprentice. It didn't matter. Milkpaw only needed the comfort of his presence for now.

A familiar voice caught his attention; was that Lightningpaw? The white spotted molly was talking to Mothpaw, another apprentice that had been gravely injured by the fire that burnt the moorland down. He felt sorry for him. He'd lost so much fur and now hal his face was... bare.
He perked his ears to try and listen to the two cats' conversation; he didn't know why he should care, but he was curious.
