There, he noticed the ever so slight movement in the leaves, and his muscles tenses up in preparation. But then another sound snapped from a bit away, and the black tom quickly tried to flung himself after his prey but it was too late, and the rodent skidded back into its hole. He scratches around the hole, but the prey was long gone. Shame, but the game wasn't lost, and he shook his fur a little and headed after a mice trail, in the other direction from where the snap had come from. A bunch of cats hunting at once all over the forest wasn't too effective.

His ears twitched as Spiderthroat commented on his performance. "If your eyes already fail you, I'm an apprentice." He mewed in a monotone voice, rather tempted to call the warrior 'grampa' while he was at it, but refrained from it, instead focusing on his next scent trail.

And... one mouse! The large tom looked smiley and his catch for a moment, giving thanks to Starclan before picking it up and quickly bringing it back to the place he hoped a piled of the same little creatures would soon form. Then he turn and went back into the forest to look for more. It was a good start, and he chose to just see if he could find more mice aorund, instead of trying to say climb up one of the trees.

A quick leap around the trunk and... HAHA! Small claws hooked the mouse towards her before delivering a swift bite to the neck. Mentally thanking Starclan for the prey, Mistpaw quickly buried it before skittering on to continue following her nose.

Maybe... What if she tried doing that but from a tree! It smelled like there was another mouse in the area, so with a quick leap Mistpaw pulled herself up onto a low branch above the ground. She knew how to climb and she knew how to hunt, so combining the two couldn't be that hard right?

Crouching low against the tree's bark, she awaited the mouse she had smelled to appear.

~ Sparrowflight (0 points) ~

Her stealthy approach was rather abruptly interrupted by the appearance of Spiderthroat. As her attention was drawn away from her quarry, one paw caught on a rather unfortunately placed twig; with the 'crack' sending her bird into flight. Growling a low curse, Sparrowflight stalked back into the underbrush to find something else to catch.

Jaws opening wide to scent the area, her brown ears perked up towards some scrabbling underneath a nearby bush. It sounded like a vole, so dropping back into her crouch Sparrowflight attempted an even quieter approach.

Sharppaw hissed. No trees. No birds... wait... The young black apprentice spotted three mice. He stalked them, chasing them, and catching two of them. He reached for the last one when he tripped over his paws, slamming on the ground, clawing a tree trunk, almost ripping the tail off a bird who escaped. He blew out feathers from his caws and looked at his two mice. How many points?

Stagpaw tripped as the mouse raced away. Darn it. Maybe he'd have better luck next time. He began stalking around hoping he didn't scare the prey away. A squirrel scuttled into his line of sight and he stilled. Hopefully, he could catch this one, because it was looking rather plump. This was great! If he caught it Cinder would be impressed for sure!

He let his eyes close in disappointment the squirrel was long gone, he pushed deeper knowing most of the prey nearby had left already. the young tom followed the small scuttling of a mouse his amber eyes peeking in the shadows. he waited patiently for it to come into range, tracking its movements with careful eyes.
