"why would you fight for the dark forest, after all the clans have provided you with?" the question had been directed at the supposed dark forest cat she was battling, although simplefeather had been wondering it herself inwardly. why go against the clans? it was an odd concept to her, although she thought she knew where the df cats were coming from. perhaps they were hateful of the high ranks, or their decisions. but why kill innocent cats over opinions?

The small apprentice was surprised when claws suddenly flashed across her face, slicing the soft skin on her cheek. Pain ran through her face, it stung so much! This was the first realtime she'd fought, no a single scar was in her sleep pelt. How'd she find me?! Minkpaw wondered flinching back. She had tried to be quite like she was taught but it didn't work. Mind racing the feline realized that the car she'd ran into was a warrior! Would she kill her? Would this be her end? Her Clanmates didn't care for her anyway. At the warriors question she shook her head. She didn't even know why She was right just that she was told it was right. "The clans have brought me nothing but pain!" She declared emotion thick in her voice. Her father killed in a battle, her mentor killed suddenly from unknown reasons, her mother abandoned her and Fernpaw from stress caused by the Clans. Countless cats had disappeared some dying some just couldn't stand the fighting. The Clans didn't do anything for her but make her feel like an outsider. In too of that they made the deputy her mentor, she was a easy if his time, even if he looks like a good cat. It couldn't be true it had to be a fake and if it wasn't he's die.
Jumping at the molly Minkpaw wasn't sure what to do, she was scard, terrified, but it was he right thing to do. Why? It didn't make since at all but she had to take Nightclaws word, he knew what it was like being an outsider.

the female bared her teeth angrily at the cat's response. the utter shamelessness. "listen to yourself," she exclaimed, taken aback by the sudden lunge of her opposer. simplefeather tried to outmaneuver the cat, tried to dodge out of the way, but her reaction was too slow to evade the cat. the cat scratched at her. the worst thing was, simplefeather, although her eyes had finally adapted to the lack of sunlight, could not recognize the cat before her; she didn't know who the traitor was, why they were behaving the way they were. "the clans gave you food every day. you had shelter from storms and harsh weather. a home. people to talk with, so you weren't lonely. if you really think the clans gave you nothing, try living as a stray for your entire life. you'll come crawling back to clan life, even if it is difficult sometimes." the warrior growled, getting ready to launch herself at the silhouette of a clanmate. the nerve they had to claim the clans had done nothing for them! such a lie a cat should never utter, even if they didn't understand all of the resources the clans provided for them. "who are you, by the way? my name is simplefeather, traitor," she inquired, then introduced herself. the female put her weight into her haunches and, waiting for a reply, lunged at the cat, trying to knock the breath out of her rival. the female wasn't all too experienced in actual, hands-on fights, but the female knew the basics and the advanced from apprenticehood and was using all of her wits and tricks in order to outwin this cat. it was turning out better than expected, other than the scratch she had received from the dark forest fighter.

The blood flowed steadily, but she ignored it in favor of searching for her target. She spotted Passionstar and inhaled sharply. There he was. The whole reason she'd agreed to this, why she was going against her Clan, for her Clan. Passionstar was incompetent as a leader, and all of his attempts at peace were futile. She knew there were cats who could lead their Clan better. She respected him as a cat, but as a leader, the Dark Forest had shown her how he couldn't do anything the right. If he'd done one thing right, it was accepting her as medicine cat. And now she could make things right. Appoint a cat capable of leading this Clan and preventing further conflict. Gritting her teeth, the medicine cat flung herself at Passionstar's side. She knew she was too cowardly to confront him face to face. He'd convince her that she was wrong, that she shouldn't have gone to the Dark Forest--he always did have a way with words. No, I can't let that happen. She bit at whatever she could reach. Her green eyes were fiery with the wild, furious side of her that only ever came out during conflict.

[Maybe a sick scar for her to remember how she got manipulated for the df? it can be anywhere, including her face.]
Apparently, trying to create or bring the peace back was not going to happen. Passionstar lost his desire to bring back peace a while ago when no one seemed to be listening, and since that was so, the leader was becoming antsy and ferocious. His nails were out, raking the ground, teeth bared in a menacing snarl. He might as well looked like a monster from a folklore legend. “Oaf!” Passionstar has been trying to lunge at one of the evil cats from tearing their clan mate apart, but was caught off guard when he was tackled and his side hit the ground. Through Passionstar’s eyes everything was a flash. He couldn’t get a good look at whatever cat had tackled him, but since it happened so quickly, Passionstar found himself thrashing his nails around, his paws came in contact with the side of his enemy’s face, landing a brutal scratch upon the middle of the competitor’s face. After a moment, Passionstar was starting to make sense of who he was fighting. “T-Tall - Marsh?!” His voice was rasped, choked and breath hitched from her pressure, but in order to free himself he used his hind legs to kick at her in order to throw her off of him. “Not you, too. What’re you doing? Have you gone insane!?” He sneered with a low hiss. Out everyone in the clan, his own medicine cat had the nerve to turn on him? Then again, maybe Passionstar was assuming too much. Maybe she thought the leader turned on his clan. Or, maybe she got lost in the crowd and accidentally lunged for him.

Tallmarsh let out a yelp of pain when she felt Passionstar's claws score down her face, leaving a deep cut in its place running down her right eye. Blood gushed from the wound, leaving her face soaked in her own blood. She momentarily pinned him, but he kicked her off, and she landed hard on her side. The medicine cat stumbled to her feet, momentarily blinded by blood running in her eyes. She blinked quickly, but realized her vision was dark in her right eye. Is it that bad? She scoffed and growled back, "I'm doing this for ThunderClan!" She hoped he would understand. Digging her back feet into the earth, she lunged at Passionstar again, this time aiming a strong bite for his throat. She bit down as hard as she could on the leader's neck and felt her teeth puncture the skin. The taste of his blood was a bittersweet reminder of what she was doing: destroying a friendship to 'save' her Clan. She hated what she was doing, but...not really. The Dark Forest had convinced her that ThunderClan--no, every Clan--needed a change in high ranks. Not medicine cats, of course. The most pressing issue was the leaders. She believed that under new authority, the Clans could prosper. Maybe if she could take one of Passionstar's lives, she could convince him to step down...Because of course she never wanted to fight. It was just the only way they could ever achieve peace.

Passionstar growled, so he was wrong. Tallmarsh was on their side. How unfortunate. Passionstar never thought he'd ever have to worry about fighting his medicine cat or deputy -- he already knew the deputy was on his side, but it was rather sad that Tallmarsh wasn't. He always thought they were well-off friends. She'd get confused and annoyed with how he ran her head in circles, and he would find her sarcasm amusing. Under this separated sky, they both seem segregated on different sides. Passionstar wasn't going to allow Tallmarsh to win without a fight. Victory had soared in him when the she cat turned back to him and he could see that her eye was gone, her face severely slashed. If she thought she was going to be taking him down, then that was a memory that she should always remember of what he was capable of doing. ''Well, come on then, don't cower. Do what you gotta do.'' The leader barked, menacingly, his teeth bared and muzzled pulled back to show his fury. If she wanted a fight, then that's what she was going to get. She was going to have to kill him nine times over because each time Passionstar would come back, he was going to be aiming for her. He shouldn't be mad or blaming her for this current situation, and quite frankly Passionstar wasn't blaming Tallmarsh for how she was acting. The dark forest manipulated her, corrupted her. She was nothing but a pawn in this delusional plan to get rid of all the leaders.

Passionstar had met her with the same intensity of a lunge, only he had almost stumbled back from his hefty size, giving the slender she cat more of advantage. His neck was pierced, his throat in her grasp. The leader struggled for air as he in a state of rage started flailing his limbs and his nails to try and get ahold of something -- anything. In that moment, he witnessed his life flashing before his eyes. His own medicine cat was trying to kill him. Passionstar never been scared of death, he's never been scared of anything really because he was too impulsive to have a fear of anything that was considered physical. He tried to mumble some words from his vocals, but everything was raspy and he couldn't get a vowel out. Instead his eyes started to roll back, but he knew in the back of his mind that him and Tallmarsh -- this wasn't over.

Tallmarsh held on tight to Passionstar's neck despite his size. She jerked her head back and forth--she was too small to throw the tom, but she could still rip the flesh. As he flailed, his limbs and claws landed blows on her sides, making her grunt, but still she held firm. She only let go when she felt him beginning to go limp, instead opting to dig her shoulder into his side in an attempt to shove him over. Finally, the realization of what she was doing hit her when Passionstar mumbled something she couldn't understand and she saw the whites of his eyes. I should be the one trying to save him, but here I am, killing him. She stepped back, knowing that when he died he would only come back. What would she do then? Run? When he came back, he would have the upper hand--she was tired and injured, but he would be brand new, literally. Maybe she could surrender? But no, her pride...There was no right answer in this situation. She decided that the best thing to do would be to surrender when he inevitably overpowered her. She couldn't abandon her Clan. Maybe she could talk to him, convince him?

Passionstar used to boyishly believe nothing could kill him. He was an adept fighter, but even the strongest of warriors had their downfalls. It was apparent that even though the tom was much heftier than the Molly, she wasn’t letting him go. That molly had some sharp teeth! They were sunk into his throat rather deeply. Was it possible that he could taste his own blood? No, no, no...this is not a victory I will win. Those were the last thoughts consuming his mind before he started to finally let go. Prior, Passionstar had refused to let go, he would thrash around and successfully continue to scratch harshly at her, but alas, with his throat being clamped and his time limited, his thrashing had ceased and he fell over, a thick limp pelt lifeless on the ground. Passionstar did not know how it felt to die, or in his case...how it felt to die but come back since he had other lives. His body was stone cold after death, and Passionstar was pretty sure he didn’t exist in those long moments of just lying there, but then...he was warm again. It was almost like black magic with how his body replenished itself and filled with warmth, bringing him into a shock state of life.
Passionstar took a moment to draw in his surroundings, wondering what possibly could had been going on, but when he remembered how he died and why it happened, his gaze snapped to the familiar object that cost him his life. She was weakened, of course, and he was strong again. “The funny thing about fighting with a leader is,” He started to growl, “You can’t.” He deadpanned in a sneer. His nostrils flared and his teeth bared as he drew closer to her, his back hunched in a defensive crouch. “Because I got other lives yet, and it so happens that you don’t, so when I kill you, you’re gone. For good. Passionstar was livid, allowing his natural beast to unlock itself as it usually did when violence was presented. He didn’t even have to think twice when he lunged for the she cat, in an attempt to try and grab her own throat.

Tallmarsh took another step back as the tom got up after a few moments of eery silence. She had been expecting this. He loomed over her, much more intimidating now to her. She crouched in a defensive stance, ready to take him on, but it was obvious her previous battles had taken their toll on her. She was breathing heavily, and she was beginning to have a hard time keeping her balance--she was losing to much blood. Despite this, she dug her claws into the ground, dark fur bristling. She bared her blood-stained teeth at the leader. "Kill me, and you have no chance of healing your Clanmates!" she snarled. There was a hint of unease in her tone. A small bubble of fear in her mind began to grow. Passionstar was obviously pissed, and he was a terrifying opponent on the battle field. It really seemed like he was ready to kill her. She seemed to shrink into her skin slightly. Then, in the blink of an eye, Passionstar was lunging for her throat. She barely had time to dive out of the way. She felt the sting of teeth and claws nick her throat along the way. Landing hard and stumbling, she turned to the leader with a defiant expression. "We both know there's no way I can win this," she began. Her expression softened slightly as she paused, unsure of how to continue. She then decided to say, "I can heal our Clanmates." But what her eyes betrayed was the real meaning: I don't want to die.

But what her eyes betrayed was the real meaning: I don't want to die.
Passionstar was blinded by rage. He wanted to take her life just as she had taken his. He still couldn't even believe he died, all the pain he experienced, but now he was back alive, and while he felt a dull ache, he was still hurt. Physically and emotionally that his own friend would take his life. So, he wanted to get even. It was apparent that she was trying to find different tactics to settle this bad blood between them. He could see her teeth were stained with his blood, and that just infuriated the tom even more. She had managed to dodge him sinking his teeth into his fur, ''You tasted my blood, it's only fair if I taste yours.'' He tried to lunge at her again, but stumbled a bit and lost his footing. She was more agile than him. She had that advantage of proven to being stronger with her sleek form whereas he was built for strength, not agility. It was a good thing he had endurance because he will run after her all day if he had to in order to get his revenge. Passionstar was still advancing towards her, but ended up stopping when she started to speak, seemingly trying to compromise with him. Was she out of her mind!? Compromising for him not to seek revenge on her? For all he knew, she was probably lying to him, trying to get his defense mechanisms down. He was greatly livid though -- he didn't want to make any deals with her. ''Like Thunderclan can't find a new medicine cat. Maybe, that's exactly what we need. Not a traitor who killed her own leader and yet have the audacity to still be claimed as a medicine cat. Utterly ridiculous.'' He spat back at her. Medicine cats were supposed to heal, not kill. Passionstar had a low trusting in his once comrade, and it was seen in his eyes. Crystal clear.

She hit her?! That was a surprise but the feel of blood on her class made her want to vomit. She's killed prey animals yeah but this was the first time sinking her claws in a cat. Her, the little apprentice who's been so confused about why the Clans where fighting each other. How could this be right?! At the molly's exclaim she paused eyes wide still unsure about how to react to the blood on her claws. Listen to herself? She knew what she said and it was true! Clinching her teeth Minkpaw listened to the warrior, her heart still racing in her chest. She's backed up a ways after landing a hit, dark forest training was supposed to make her stronger? If anything it made her a bit mess. Why couldn't she be a kit again will all her family, not having to be like this. "Just because there's cats around doesn't mean you're not lonely." That was the first thing the small brownish molly had said, looking almost kit like in the way she stood, half crouched pelt spiked. That phrase was evident in her life. You couldn't be lonely if you never knew what it was like to have cats around you. "I can't try that! It may have been better if I was a stray but guess what I wasn't born one. " Her tail lashed as she flattened her ears. "The only reason they take care of you is because the warrior code says so." That was wholeheartedly what she believed, why else would they take care of cats like her? For fun? At Simplefeather 's request she was stunned. Why? What was the point in learning her name, tomorrow she'd never want to see her again. Did she just want it so Passionstar could exile her? This was the right thing! It had to be. "Minkpaw.. Wh-" She answered but was cut off as the warrior mocked her of her paws sending her straight into a small rock that for some reason was in the clearing. Breath being knocked out of her Minkpaw tried to grasp some air. She hadn't expected that. What?
