RiverClan Prey Pile

It wasn't much, but it was better than just two fish. the sun was now high in the sky, nearly noon, as Beansprout dropped his catches onto the pile. Three fish -- a trout, a bass, and a slightly-used perch. Although his stomach grumbled at the idea of food. Beansprout dismissed it. He had to do a bit more hunting before he could allow himself to eat. The kits, queens, and elders needed to be fed first. He could survive for a few hours longer.

Beansprout wasted no time in dropping his mouse and rabbit off on the fresh-kill pile, and picking up his slightly-used perch from earlier that day. His stomach growled with hunger, and Beansprout could feel himself begin to drool as the taste of perch flooded his mouth.

He had earned this meal.

✧ Quietly slipping back into camp through the entrance made up of skinny cattails, the longhaired clan leader walked over to the fresh-kill pile and dropped his early morning fishing haul, which consisted of two chubs and a carp. They gently nudged their three fish to the side so that they would not rest over any other additions that were new to the pile. Hopefully, this would be a lovely morning meal for a few RiverClan cats once everyone began to awaken after the sun had risen. Pikestar stepped back, admiring the pile for a moment before nodding firmly, satisfied once more with their work. With that finished, the dark RiverClan tomcat turned away and walked off in the direction of his den. He had yet to earn his share in food today, but at least they deserved some sleep.

A spring in her step, Cloverdust brushed her way past the entrance and made her way over to the fresh-kill pile. Gently, she placed her sunfish and bass next to the growing pile of prey.

Padding back into camp, the first thing on his list was dropping off the water vole, mouse and blackbird onto the preypile. It was looking better than when he left at least. Next up, patrol reports.

Beastflame followed closely behind the tabby deputy, jaws dangling with the prey he’d caught. After the other tom finished, he tossed his catch on top. A mouse, a trout, and a squirrel. Not too shabby. The prey pile looking replenished, he padded off to rest his paws a little.

Beaming with pride, Beansprout dropped a plump seagull onto the pile. He would have to remember to check the prey pile later, though.

Pebblefur padded up to the prey pile, looking for a small piece of prey, she grabbed a small trout and padded off.

With a satisfied sigh, Beansprout took a look at the prey pile, back to its full glory. Only one fish lay rotting in the pile, and Beansprout quickly and easily disposed of that. For once, he wasn't filled with a sense of dread looking at the Clan's food supply.

Feeling content, Beansprout took a bass from the pile and sat down to eat.
