The gray and white leader offered Lionstorm a friendly smile before the tom hopped down from the Streamstone. It was just him now. Glancing back at the crowd in front of him, Sootstar was painfully aware of what pig pawsteps he had to fill. He would do everything he could, of course, but Lionstorm had no idea how much he was needed up on that stone.

Letting out a deep sigh, Sootstar continued, "Before I dismiss you all, we have a few apprentices in our ranks who are in need of mentor reassignments. Baypaw [ @Puddle~ ], Foxpaw [ @~Fox~ ], Frostpaw [ @TheShadowAnimal ], Minnowpaw [ @The milk boy ], and Palepaw [ @Rainquail ] - through whatever circumstances, you've been left without a mentor to teach you. Please step forward."

~Foxpaw stepped forward , tail between her legs , she was scared of lion-storm and it would forever be that way, but now it was soot-star and she really wanted to impress him , so she stood with confidence , when she arrived to the front.~

What happened to Dogflame?
Palepaw's ears drooped a bit. She liked him...
She would miss him.
She stepped foward, eyes downcast.
She wasn't sure how she'd take this reassignment.

Minnowpaw happily stepped forward. He was enthusiastic to get a new mentor.At the same time he was sad.Why didn't his previous mentor show up at all?Did his former mentor forget about him?Minnowpaw was sad to see Lionsta-storm go,but he new that Sootstar would be an excellent leader.

Huh? Oh, so Hollowbreeze had disappeared? Baypaw felt like they should be slightly upset, then again, Hollowbreeze hadn’t ever done much with them anyways. Maybe they’d get a more involved mentor this time. With high hopes, they stepped forward to receive the reassignment.

It was a little unfortunate that Palepaw didn't seem to know why Dogflame wasn't here, but maybe that was for the best.

Still, while they waited for Frostpaw to step up, Lionstorm leaned forward to bap at Palepaw's tail. "Chin up," he mumbled. "Dogflame may no longer be with us, but I'm sure your new mentor will be great." And if not, he was here. Because he liked the not-Half tribute baby when she wasn't a tribute.

Okay, that was.... really confusing. Lionstar had said Sootflare and him were mates, sootflare was like ‘no we’re not’ and then said Lion was stepping down?

So now they had a Sootstar. Sootspring smiled as she remembered when she thought that was going to be her name some day, back then when she was a kit. But now it was Sooflare’s! It was funny in the weirdest way. “Sootstar! Sootstar! Sootstar!” she chanted, tipping her head to the sky.

Then, mentor reassignments. There was always stuff like that, but Sootspring’s heart skipped a beat. Please let me get one, StarClan. she pleaded silently, hoping for an apprentice of her own.

Palepaw looked up at Lionstorm, opening her mouth to ask a question, but as something clicked in her mind, she snapped her mouth shut.
Then, she started again.
"So Dogflame is dead?"
The realization made a heavy weight feel like it was placed in her stomach, making her feel nauseous.
She clamped her jaws shut, not wanting to throw up in front of the clan, or on Lionstorm.

Stepping up she sighed she had liked her mentor but she was sure they would make the right choice for her.
