The munchkin gave her mentor a polite nod of her head, a sweet smile still on her maw as she listened to the female’s words. “If you would, thank you.” She said, stepping back a few pawsteps to make sure Raspberrybubble had enough room to show Newtpaw the move that she now spoke of. She was excited, wondering if she would be able to pull it off on her own when it was her turn to step forward and try this move. If only she had known how to defend herself when that mean apprentice, Lobserpaw, humiliated her - however, she was still rather proud of herself for giving the tom a nasty scar on his face with a swift strike of her paw. It made her feel like she could actually defend and protect others, especially herself and the ones she loved.

The small apprentice’s eyes widened when her mentor bounded towards her and landed on the munchkin, despite being twice her size. Newtpaw was able to take it, though, with shaking legs as she struggled to support her weight as Raspberrybubble batted the youth’s ears before placing herself back on the loose dirt once more. She shook her head, stretching out her paws as she listened to the older shecat’s words. “Oh, it was fine. I need to become stronger anyways, especially when I go against warriors even more powerful than you someday.” Newtpaw mentioned, nodding quietly as the mentor explained how the move worked and how you could damage your opponent. “If someone were to be quick enough when they roll over, couldn’t it be possible to spring onto their exposed underbelly and manage a few hits there as well?” The apprentice asked, going over the scenario in her head as she said this.

She nodded, putting a paw to her chin for a moment. “Yes, that does make sense.” The youth murmured, “Though, at some points, it may have to be done if you wish to win or even live another day when it comes to a battle. We wouldn’t know if that cat is aiming to end your life or not. I’d have to push my body farther than it had ever gone before if it would come to that.” Newtpaw shook her head, looking up at her mentor with yet another smile, “I know, though, with time, I’ll become really strong and fast - just like you!” The female exclaimed with a purr of happiness.

Elmpaw flashed Ivorykit a smile and continued the work of picking up drowned prey. Ivorykit will be good at apprentice duties once Ivorykit is an apprentice. She grabbed a stinky fish and threw it in the pile gagging slightly at the stench.

Ivorykit wrinkled her nose in disgust at the scene of the heaping bad-to-eat-prey pile. The mixture of scents, including fish and mold, filled her nostrils and the she-cat twitched one white ear. But, she was part of ShadowClan and would do whatever it took to help out after the flood. Ivorykit dragged a small squirrel from a little ways away and heaved it next to the pile. Looking around, she could see improvement already.

The small apprentice nodded, accepting her mistake. “Yeah, sometimes I have trouble getting the proper footing on unsteady surfaces with these shortened legs.” She explained with a slight twitch of her whiskers, “But with enough practice and time, I think that I’ll be able to overcome that obstacle that I face.” Newtpaw blinked up at her mentor as she told her that she could attempt to go through with it once more, but this time, there would be a higher chance of a conspiring roll to throw her off balance. “Okay, I’ll again. There's no hurt in practicing more until I get it right.” She said, readying her beginning stance once again before leaping forward and landing on the female’s back once more, finding it to be easier to land her footing the second time slightly more.
