Darktiger looks at her apprentice and dodges left and right looking and growling shipping hard paws sheathed but enough to make the apprentice think

The molly tried her best to dodge Darktiger's paws, but failed and got pushed back a bit. Her reflexes definitely needed some work. She quickly got back up and attempted to perform a front paw blow. Hopefully, she acted quickly enough before her mentor could dodge as she did to her other move.

Darktiger wasn't quick enough to dodge this move and looked at her apprentice and mews "good job pinepaw. Your doing so well."

Finchpaw felt his legs thump onto the ground as Finchwhisker whisked himself away.

He had missed.

Irritation flooded his pelt as he whipped his head around to watch Finchwhisker circle him.

Finchwhisker was bigger and faster then him; his best bet of landing a blow on him would have to be done as a form of surprise.

He narrowed his eyes in thought as he crouched down again, his ears pulled back.

If legs wouldn’t work then he would go for his back. Thinking back to the move he saw Rookpaw do the other day he shot forward.

Zipping towards the deputy he made a sharp right and then unexpectedly rolled back, aiming his legs to develop a high blow to Finchwhisker’s side.

Apparently, Finchpaw did know quite a bit more than the average beginner. Finchwhisker hadn't anticipated his apprentice's next move, and it landed successfully. Of course, he rolled down and away, avoiding a serious blow, but Finchpaw could have the satisfaction of at least managing to land an attack.

That was all he needed to see. Clearly, observing other apprentices had done some good. "Decent work. I believe you're capable of skipping past some of the basic moves and getting into more advanced maneuvers." He didn't dwell on the praise for too long, not wanting Finchpaw to get too full of himself.

"Before we move on, however, we need to build up your defensive skills and reflexes. For this, I'll attack you, and I want you to try and dodge as best you can." Without a moment's hesitation, the dark tom lunged forward, making it look as though he was going for a head-on attack. But he suddenly changed directions, looping around to the side of Finchpaw and aiming to shove him down.

Finchpaw opened his mouth to thank his mentor with a smirk but before he even got a word out the deputy was charging at him.

His eyes widened and he tried to quickly devise a plan of defense; Finchwhisker seemed to be coming head on. In a reflexive move he leaped into the air, planning on landing onto the older toms back, but as his paws left the air he saw Finchwhisker change directions and come at him from the side. The tom crashed into his legs and Finchpaw felt his body roll over Finchwhiskers body. In a panic he let his legs bend and as he fell off the deputy’s frame he landed miraculously on his paws. He felt slightly winded as Finchwhisker had slammed into his lower ribs during the leap as well.

Turning his eyes back to Finchwhisker he crouched again, awaiting the next attack.

She looked at pinepaw once they both was rested enough "what other things u need work on?" Darktiger couldn't always remember wat was done n what was not. She wanted to touch all bases so dawnstar didn't kill the apprentice

The apprentice pondered for a bit. "Well, I'm pretty sure I have learned everything else I need. I would like to work more on battling though." Pinepaw was very nervous about her assessment, which was unfortunately nearing.
