Giggling at the teasing .
"yeah sorry about that,I'm just not used to uneaven ground is all ..." he answered towards her teasing. Atleast she still wasn't as salty from when they first started ! " Are we good to go chestnut?" he asked . Looking forward the tom tried to keep out that possibility of dying here . He didn't look down at all and did his absolute best to not slip as he continued to remark.

Amusement flickered in Chestnutstripe's eyes and she glanced back to watch the two apprentices interact. At least she's not as bitter as before. Now able to heave a sigh of relief, she turned her gaze towards surveying the camp. As far as she was concerned, nothing's changed much (aside from the absence of cats).

"I think we're good to go." She replied, turning around to face the apprentices. Bummer that there isn't much to report on, though, except maybe the fact that Silverpaw's warming up to others. Or at least, to Sootpaw. "After you." She pointed back the way they came with a nod and her nose. Unless they wanted her to press past them along the edge, it was better they head up and out of the area before her.

Satisfied with the more friendly answer of Sootpaw, Silverpaw actually flashed a smile at their giggle. Okay, now that she'd calmed down a little, she could see that she'd been a little prickly. The nickname wasn't even all that bad, to be honest it was true and she would have thought it was kind of funny if it had come from a friend.
Silverpaw decided she would have to be more mature than that if she wanted to become a warrior any time soon, even if she didn't accept Chestnutstripe as her mentor. It would be much more mature to just ignore her completely, right? Yeah!
As Silverpaw started padding back, she finally felt like she'd found the solution. As long as she avoided him as much as possible, she could pretend like she'd never gotten a new mentor in the first place!

By 'patrol', Thistlestep really meant he was making Stoatdance go on a long walk to clear her head.

Through the forest and into the plains between the Clans, past the Seastones into the mostly-unknown that was SkyClan's former territory. What did Lionstar call it, his range..?

A stupid name, but whatever. Thistlestep didn't care enough to comment on it verbally. "Let me know if you need a break," he told Stoatdance as they walked. "I know this is going to be a trek, but it'll be good for your mind and this area needs to be patrolled anyway."

It felt nice, being out of the stuffy den. Her tail was twitching and her ears were swiveling, listening to the song of nature around her. Stoatdance let a sigh breathe past her lips as she turned to Thistlestep. Being so far away from camp was certainly bringing an ache to her shoulder, but she didn't say anything. She simply nodded, giving a quiet "alright" as she followed him. Fury still bubbled within her, though as they left the camp, it slowly subsided into a stubborn grudge, an unwillingness to let go of her anger. Stoatdance's thoughts repeatedly mulled over the fight with Bugpaw, not letting it go for even a heartbeat. She looked up. It didn't seem like many had come through the area recently, if at all, so it wasn't surprising that Thistlestep had chosen to patrol the land. Even if she was really going to feel the ache later.

By the time they had made it into the land known as Lionsrange, Thistlestep was tired of Stoatdance sulking like a sourpuss.. so he made a quick decision as they started to step over a wide stream.

Quicker than a fish darting in the river, his paws swept into the water and sent a wave of the liquid at the pouty she-cat. "Gotcha!"

As water was splashed onto her, Stoatdance froze, surprise crossing her features as her mind worked to realize what had happened. Within a split heartbeat, it clicked, causing a smile to curl at her lips and the anger to be replaced by playfulness. Despite her tired body and aching shoulder, she darted forwards to scoop water up in her paw and toss it toward Thistlestep. Stoatdance laughed and started battering her paws into the water, balancing on her hind legs as she sent ripple after ripple in her Clanmate's direction.

Raccoontail

The grey warrior padded quickly in front of the hunting patrol, already checking the air for prey. "Alright, we aren't heading all the way out, just far enough to get a bit of prey and come back," she meowed, a strong tone obvious as she flicked her tail to go on ahead. She crouched and was gone, making her way through the snow like a sore thumb. She honestly didn't wanna be here, but she felt one slip up and she would be out of camp in two seconds flat. That's why she was so determined to make sure this patrol came back successful. Speaking of which... She perked up a bit as she caught the faint sound of a mouse not too far off. 'Perfect...' she thought, creeping up on it slowly.

Thistlestep hadn't expected a bombardment of water thrown back at him, but it was a relief that was her reaction when it could have been much worse.

In retaliation he returned her rapid-fire splashing with a laugh, balling water in his paws to sling it back at her as he tried to duck out of the water zone, albeit unsuccessfully.
