In fact, he'd been out for... Well, Hunterpaw wasnt sure. It'd been a while since he glanced at the sky. The black and white Tom had raced a few laps around the Moor, practicing running, then had decided to work on hunting. Which of course was a success, Hunterpaw was not named in vain. A smirk crossed his face, looking down at the prey he'd managed to catch. Two big rabbits and a thrush. Not his biggest success, but good enough since it was still early in the morning and he hadnt been out long.

Now, turning away, Hunterpaw went through his head on what to do next. Fighting, he could practice more on that. But with only himself... That would be a bit hard. Maybe he should have waited for Springwind. His mentor was probably freaking out about now, though, wondering where his apprentice was. Probably would never have expected Hunter to be out in the Training Moors.

While he found this amusing, he also did wish he had waited, sort of. Oh, well. Who was to say he couldnt practice battle training alone? Maybe I could run another lap, Hunterpaw thought despite himself, looking across the moors. But he shook his head and turned to the open training field, thinking. There were still a few moves he would like to perfect. Hunterpaw knew that his warrior ceremony was coming up, maybe a little too soon. He couldnt help but worry, now. Hunterpaw grimaced faintly. Once he became a warrior... He'd be alone. Springwind wouldnt have to train him anymore. Curlypaw... Hunterpaw wasnt sure what Curlypaw would do. Would his best friend, his half-brother, leave him too? And what about Breezepaw? Not like Breezepaw even spent that much time with him, anyway. She was too busy with her friends.

Hunterpaw found himself lifting out of his crouch, staring straight ahead with thoughtful brown eyes. Now that he thought about it, would becoming a warrior really be good? Everyone else may take this as some open invitation to leave. To just.. Go. Once Hunterpaw became a warrior, he wouldnt need anyone else, at least thats what they would think. But Hunterpaw didnt want that to happen. He didnt want to be left alone. Maybe being a warrior... Wouldnt be so good after all.
Springwind was in a rather happy mood. He started out his day from waking from a peaceful sleep. One that he haven't had in ages. Training Hunterpaw had to be one of the greatest things that ever happened to him. Before he even met the young tom, Springwind had to admit he was careless. After the death of his brother, and the absence of the she cat he once loved, Springwind waited patiently for something to make him notice life. Yeah, sure he had Moonpaw and all--he adored the small she cat, but something that made him really take notice of life. Like he wanted to live life to the fullest. When Blazingstar appointed Springwind as Hunterpaw's mentor, the tom immediately thought: You gotta be kidding me. Of course, he didn't think he would be the best mentor out there, but after spending a lot of time with the tom, Springwind had a change.

Hunterpaw came out fine. Soon he would be a warrior, and Springwind would be the one cheering his name out loudly. Now that Springwind was up, ready to start the day, he looked into the apprentices den to see if Hunterpaw was there. A couple of the apprentices were there, but no black and white pelt stood out. Except for Breezepaw, who was snoring away softly in her own nest. Springwind began to trot on, wondering where in the daylight had Hunterpaw gone. Hunterpaw never got up early, unless he was forced. Springwind was quite baffled, but he shook his head. "Where had that tom gone?" The older tri-color tabby walked briskly around the camp until he was able to find the territory. But that was the wrong way. Hunterpaw's scent was definitely not of this place.

So, that left Springwind to see if the tom was at the border--but why would he be at the border? Thunderclan border, perhaps? Of course not...Shadowclan border? Springwind shook his head. Sure, Hunterpaw used to be in love with--what was her name? Springwind cursed himself for forgetting such. What if he was at the border to talk to his old flame? Then again, maybe not. The last Springwind heard, Shadowclan was evacuated from their home by a recent flooding. So where else could Hunterpaw be?

It must be taking a toll on the older apprentice with new duties and all. That he would become a warrior soon enough and be the best that he could be. Springwind felt that he trained him well, and with everything he taught, Hunterpaw would bring it into his own apprentice. Springwind aimlessly walked through the land of rabbit-eaters...until he smelled a fresh caught rabbit. From the rumbling of his stomach, Springwind was sure enough hungry with Sunhigh appearing soon. But, that wasn't the only thing he smelled. The tom realized he was traveling through the training moor. When did he make it here? The strong scent of a familiar tom hit Springwind's nostrils, and an idea clicked into his head. Of course, Hunterpaw was here--why was he here was the question yet to be answered. Springwind cautiously approached the tom, flicking his tail as he glanced at Hunterpaw's mouth-watering catches. "A bit up early I see," Springwind nodded. "Something bothering you, kit?"

Right then, Sorrelkit truly was annoyed, annoyed that her brother should interrupt her voice listening.

"What?" She sighed when he asked her to guess, and pushed herself up to sit up, her green gaze piercing into her brother's and her eyes faintly narrowed. Sorrelkit would never admit it, not even to herself, but maybe some part of her did love her brother. Or, longed to. Sorrelkit honestly couldnt feel that much for anyone. Like her mother sleeping in the nest next to her. If anything, Sorrelkit wanted to slash her claws into Lemonspotted's throat... But she knew there were too many witnesses around.

Instead, Sorrelkit kept her eyes on her brother, blinking slowly. "I know this." She said boredly, her voice barely holding any emotion. "He probably wont be. So dont get your hopes up." Although she was sort of excited for her apprenticeship. Wanting to know what kind of mentor she would get, what kind of training she would do. Battle training mostly, hopefully. Sorrelkit wanted to learn how to be the best. No intention of becoming leader. No intention of doing something great. She just wanted to train to the best of her ability. And far beyond that. Sorrelkit wanted to be respected.

Sorrelkit wanted to be feared.
Lynxkit obviously took note of his sister's annoyed state, but even that couldn't get the young tom down. He happily bounce around her, thinking that what if Hunterpaw became his mentor? It would be a dream come true surely! All the fun they would get into, and the new lessons that Lynxkit would learn! He was completely lost in thought. He didn't even notice the fact that he fell against his back, and on top of something sleek and furry. He didn't look back to tell it was their mother. She was sleeping soundly, and Lynxkit purred at it.

"Sorrel--I swear, our apprentice moons are gonna be the best moons of our lives!" He hushed, excitedly. They were in a den filled with other kits, and Lynxkit did not like crowded areas. Although the two of them stayed to themselves, near their mother whenever she was in the den with them. The young tom cuddled into his mother's sleeping fur. "Who do you want your mentor to be?" There were plenty awesome cats in Windclan. Sorrelkit had to know who she wanted to be her mentor, but maybe her mind was too far gone for her to know who she wanted her mentor to be. Lynxkit figured Sorrelkit didn't care who she had as her mentor, but Lynxkit had faith in Starclan that his older half brother would mentor him.

"Why do you have to be such a buzz kill?" Lynxkit laughed, rolling from his mother fur until he was on his back and looking up at the ceiling of the nursery den. "Could you at least be positive for once?" With his paws dangling freely, the young tom pawed at the air, a brilliant smile on his face. He didn't know about her, but Lynxkit knew that the best days of his life would be his apprentice moons.

"A bit up early I see," Springwind nodded. "Something bothering you, kit?"
Hunterpaw had finally just came out of his thoughts, trying to ignore the heavy feeling of worry settling in the pit of his stomach. He didnt want to worry about what would happen. If they did end up leaving... Well that was that. Hunterpaw couldnt do anything to stop it. Couldnt postpone his own ceremony, even if he wanted to. And Hunter... Wasnt sure what he wanted. Though, being a warrior wouldnt be without its perks. He'd be able to provide for his Clan as much as possible. Be able to hunt and fight and do all that warriors did. And maybe one day... Take on his own apprentice. His own to train, like Springwind trains him. Hunterpaw would do his best to live up to his mentor, he knew this. He would never be half the cat his father-figure was, but he could try. He would make Springwind proud.

The realization came to him, that he didnt really care whether Ratheart was proud of him. His father would only be proud if Hunter found a girl to chase around like he had. Not for the first time, Hunterpaw found himself honestly considering giving up being such.. Such a flirt. Maybe he could find someone. Not someone to chase around like Ratheart did. Someone to settle down with. Have kits with. Kits that he'd be there for. Kits his mate would be there for. Hunterpaw found himself smiling softly at the thought, letting his eyes close. Maybe he could find love with another she-cat. Like how he felt with Wrenpaw. Honestly, the thought of her didnt hurt as much as it probably should have anymore. Hunterpaw was moving on.

"Maybe i'll hunt some more." The Tom murmured. Hunting would help him practice some battle skills as well. Just as Hunterpaw was turning, he heard the familiar voice of his mentor, and his ears swiveled in that direction, head whipping up to grin at Springwind as he approached. The black and white Tom smirked, rolling his eyes as Springwind called him "kit". His mentor knew just as well that Hunterpaw was close to being a warrior. "Hey, Springy," The apprentice twitched his tail, following Springwind's gaze over to his catches. Not missing the rumble of Springwind's stomach, Hunterpaw gave a cheeky smirk.

"Here," Hunterpaw brushed past his mentor and grabbed one of the rabbits, throwing it over to Springwind with a warm smile. He wasnt sure whether his mentor would accept it or not, but he did hope so. "Why dont you eat something, then come help me train?" He stretched up on the tips of his paws. He knew this type of behavior may seem... Disturbing to Springwind coming from Hunter. Hunterpaw, eager to train? Right. But, right now he was. He was determined to do all that he could before his time as an apprentice was up. Hunterpaw had eaten before he left - Grabbed a quick mouse before heading out for training. And he'd promised himself to bring something back for Lemonspotted and his siblings. Regardless to how much he hated his adoptive mother, her kits were definitely innocent. And he loved them. Even the oddball Sorrelkit....

Either way, Hunterpaw would definitely have to make a few more catches before they headed back. No matter, the apprentice had all day anyway. And hunting always came easy for him, so he wasnt that worried. So the black and white apprentice settled down and lifted his brown eyes to his mentor, waiting for him to eat so that they could get back to training, his tail flicking eagerly from side to side, almost impatiently.

He didn't know about her, but Lynxkit knew that the best days of his life would be his apprentice moons.
Sorrelkit sighed at his excitement, giving a flat look as her brother fell back onto Lemonspotted. All she could do was hope to StarClan that that annoying, fake cat didnt wake up. Or well, hope she did. Hope she got up and padded back out to wherever she'd came from. Sorrelkit wasnt sure why she felt this way toward her mother. Not because Lemonspotted was never there. Just who... Lemonspotted was. She was so messed up in the head. But then again, wasnt Sorrelkit herself?

"Yeah, yeah, okay." Sorrelkit waved him off and turned her gaze to the nursery entrance, completely bored. Honestly, she'd rather be talking to Breezepaw. Breezepaw was one of the few cats she could stand. Because she seemed sort of wary around Sorrelkit. Worried. But she wasnt clingy like everyone else, so she was bearable. Sure she asked if Sorrelkit was okay a few times, but eh... It didnt matter. She may be able to stand her half-sister, but that didnt make her hate her any less. When Lynxkit asked who Sorrelkit wanted as a mentor, the kit blinked and sat back, turning her piercing gaze onto her brother.

It was a good question. Who did Sorrelkit prefer? "Someone strong." The Toyger decided, flicking her tail tip and wrinkling her nose at her brother. Her littermate. Who she couldnt exactly stand. Again, something inside her longed to know him better, to love him, but the rest of her wanted to kill him. The rest of her wanted to kill everyone, really. "I dont really care. Just as long as they're not annoying." She sighed, rolling her eyes up to the ceiling of the den.

Lynxkit's next words made Sorrelkit groan. The Tom just didnt shut up, did he? Sorrelkit twitched her tail, but replied anyway. "Lynxkit, im not exactly the positive type." She'd already said more than she'd like. Sorrelkit wasnt a big talker. She liked to listen. Mostly to the voices, though... Sorrelkit found the other cats very boring to listen to. The voices told her what she wanted to hear. "So... No. I cant be positive. Cant you try to be a little negative?" The retort was clear, simple. Why should she have to change who she was? Change how she felt, how she acted? It wasnt going to happen.

And I deserve it, too. She thought bitterly, flattening her ears. Slowly, Phantom lowered her head, then ran forwards, barreling into her best friend, shoving her into the thorns and backing away, still able to feel the thorns that were digging into her own body, but she made no attempt to remove them, she just let them sting, because if Shineflower really was trying to kill her, there would be no time to pick them out right now. “You don't think I didn't suffer all this time, wishing I'd never left, wishing I was with you? I see how you think of me now, y'know, I can tell that you're mad.” she spat, furious that Shineflower was rejecting her. Can't you understand that I didn't come to fight? Phantom thought angrily, lashing her tail, a coldness in her pain filled sky blue eyes, and a snarl on her face. “As I already said, if you want me to go, I'll go. I just want you to know that . . . I really do care about you. I wish you would see that . . . .” Phantom lowered her gaze and sat down. If Shineflower attacked, Phantom would not fight back. She was done fighting, and she certainly was done fighting the cat that she loved more than words could describe. It didn't seem right, and Phantom would accept anything that Shineflower dealt her without complaint.

Also, do you think we should continue this now, or let her open her eyes and have Flightkit teach her stuff then? I'm open to either option.) Silentkit stood still for as long as she could, waiting. This caused her muscles incredible pain and stiffness, but she knew that streching put way too much at stake. After what felt like ages, she decided that the creature, who she believed was sentient, had left, or that at least the danger had passed. Walking around she caught whiff of a tempting, warm scent, and followed it to her mothers belly. She started suckling and her mind was hit with a torrent of pleasantness. Life can't get much better than this, she thought. I hope this never ends... Silentkit slowly drifted off to sleep, her chest rising up and down, matching pace to her breathing. Her heartbeat slowed, and she cuddled against her mother, Duskheart, sighing with content.

Mothkit looked at Nightkit, her eyes wide. "Really?" she asked, her voice growing stronger. "Really?" She was so happy! Nightkit would let her be friends with who she wanted, wasn't that great? Mothkit thought it was.

Hey! I was never grumpy,” Phantom protested, trying to show Shineflower that yes, it really was her, but then her smile faded, and she turned her head away. “A lot of things. Things that I regret, but don't want to talk about,” she muttered under her breath, just barely audible. And there she was, a fragment of her grumpiness that remained in her shattered personality. She was still heartbroken over Horseradish's lies, and hated him very much, even though deep down, a part of her still believed that he had loved her, and still loved him. “And you're not the same either. Did you ever get with that tom? What was his name…?” she asked, simply wanting things to be how they'd been before, but she knew that it was impossible, and looked away from the cat that had once been her best friend.
