Firepaw suddenly got the urge to get water, but then he remembered the puddle was dry. He picked up a moss and headed for the river. He arrived at the river only to see Oceanpaw near the water. "Oceanpaw? Why are you here?" He asked, truly curious and oblivious to her intentions.

Oceanpaw wasn't mad. In fact, she felt icily calm. "Because," she meowed. "I am utterly worthless to the clan. It would've better off without me." Her voice started cracking. "You would be better without me."

"What?!" Firepaw exclaimed in disbelief, "You aren't worthless! You mean something to everybody!" He meowed, trying to calm the cat down. 'What is happening???' he thought in his head, trying not to show his confusion.

Oceanpaw flattened her ears and sighed. "It doesn't feel that way." Oceanpaw looked at Firepaw. "It was me at the cave." Then jumped into the water, paws flailing.

Firepaw's jaw dropped.. both from the fact it was Oceanpaw who had told about what Ginger had said, and the fact she just jumped into the water.... as if she didn't know how to swim, nor wanted to..... A second later, he was also in the water, swimming for both his life and hers, water and guilt both washing him down the current. He swam as best as he could, and grabbed onto Oceanpaw's scuff. Using all his might, he threw the cat towards the shore, knowing he probably overdid it and Oceanpaw would land somewhere in the bushes... but as he tried to climb out, he suddenly felt a current grab onto his leg and pull him in, the sudden movement causing him to breath in water. Frantically flailing around, and trying to resurface, he felt himself weaken as he began to choke on water... he let out a last thought as his consciousness started to fade away... 'Oceanpaw.... how ironic....' he thought, closing his eyes to accept the darkness.

Though her life may have been in danger, all she cared was getting Firepaw out. She ran on the bank past him, and stretched her paw out. She grabbed his scruff and pulled him into the shallows. Then Oceanpaw leapt into the water and got both him and herself out. She then collapsed in exhaustion, fear, and relief.

Firepaw opened his eyes... to see something completely different. He saw darkness from one eye and a starry place with the other, as if he was stuck between the two... 'what is happening?' he thought, his thoughts echoing all across the place loudly, which he didn't mean at all...

Meanwhile, his body seemed to be loosing warmth, even though the body was constantly jerking a tiny bit.

Firepaw felt as if he could move again... only his upper bit, as he was stuck on the ground as if somebody had buried him alive. Wincing, he tried to pull free, but something was grabbing onto his lower half, slowly and painfully dragging him back underground, back in the darkness he desperatly wanted to escape, to join the beautiful place he had set eyes on, to finally be free...
Meanwhile, in reality, his body suddenly let out coughs, his mouth shooting out water from his mouth, and his chest starting to rise slowly and fall back at the same pace.
