He nodded silently, creeping after the mouse. He pounced swiftly and caught it. He smiled in triumph and quickly picked it up as he rose. He padded back to his mentor and laid the mouse at her feet, "How'd I do?" he asked.

Silverclaw smiled. “You did great. How about we go and try to find something harder to catch?” She meowed. She started padding forward. “Don’t forget to bring your mouse.” She called back to Swiftpaw.

Silverclaw kept walking until she scented something. She sniffed the air again. Rabbit. Without making any noise, Silverclaw leaned towards Swiftpaw. “What do you smell?” She mewed quietly.

Silverclaw flicked her tail. “Good job. Now, using only your nose, can you find where the rabbit is?” She mewed. She wanted to see how good Swiftpaw could use his sense of smell.

Silverclaw nodded. “Now, go get it. Remember to check which direction the wind is blowing, make sure to keep your tail still, and keep it not too high up in the air or too low that it’s dragging on the floor ok? She mewed.

He nodded and crept silently towards the rabbit, keeping downwind of it. His tail was lowered low enough it couldn't be seen but high enough it didn't drag. He peered out of the undergrowth at the rabbit and pounced on it, killing it in a swift bite. He trotted back to Silverclaw and presented the rabbit to her.

He nodded and silently followed. His silver and black fur shone in the dappled light that filtered through the trees as he followed his mentor with the rabbit in his jaws. He looked around as well as scenting the air every so often. He scented a squirrel, found it, and motioned to it silently.
