“I still cannot believe they talked me into this..” Charlie murmured under his breath, watching the yellow-hued bus head down the gravel road with a thick cloud of brown dust emitting from behind it as the vehicle drew closer and closer to the location to where he was standing. The white-haired male turned his head and looked back at the dense forest that loomed over him, within was the house that he knew as home along with his large family, even his older brother--Freddie Ouran--but not even he was joining him on his ill-fated journey that lies ahead of the short male. Ryder had told him that since he was coming of age, it would be best for him to have some experience in the outside world and away from his brother, who he had clung to and hid behind his whole life. Freddie had even agreed to it, saying that this can give him a better chance at making friends that were more ‘like him’ as they put it. There was a fine difference between him and his brother when it came to their vast personalities, but still--this was a huge jump, in his own opinion. Charlie gave a gulp and gripped the strap of his dark blue shoulder bag that was resting across his chest as the bus finally drew to a halt in front of him and with a squeak, the door opened. Shaking ever so slightly, he stepped up onto the school bus and nodded to the bus driver, a middle-aged man from the looks of it, before silently walking down the aisle of the bus now. There were many kids, all heights and hair colors from what he could see. Some chatted, others were on their phones and a few just blankly stared out the window at the greenery of his home property. He was going into a school environment for the first time ever after being home-schooled by his family for as long as he could remember--as a freshman in high school, to be more specific. There was already a schedule, packed lunch and normal school supplies in his bag for the day ahead, but he still felt nervous as ever. As the white-haired male moved to the back of the bus, several kids side-eyed him as he went past and one kid even decided to stick out his foot, causing him to trip and fly forward, but quickly managed to grab the side of one of the seats to steady himself. Charlie did not dare acknowledge the kid who did this, but instead took a seat in one of the empty places in the back of the yellow bus, which slowly began to move down the road again. His heart pounded as he knew very well that it had been ages since he had left the forest that he knew as home, but never before had it been just him without his bigger brother. “This is gonna be a train-wreck..” He whimpered to himself as he looked down at his hands.

Time moved along incredibly slow as Charlie sat there in utter silence, watching as the bus went from place to place, picking up other teenagers that were both older and more intimidating then he would ever be. There was no surprise for him when it came to the realization that nobody sat down beside him. He was probably the only new kid to ever be at that school in a long time, and right away, he was seen as a complete outcast among all of them. Looking out the window once more, there was already an environment that he was not used to--a more modern and residential area was the type--and Charlie couldn’t help but gaze around with curiosity now sparkling within his vibrant blue eyes. He noticed though, the kid standing on the sidewalk as the bus came to the end of a street, most likely picking them up to head to the school as well. They looked nervous and uncomfortable in a way, with a backpack on their back and their hands tightly around themselves. It was both relatable and made the white-haired youth think; were there other kids that were just as nervous as him about this? “Try and make some friends, Char,” He remembered his brother mentioning to him before he had left the house, “It would be good for you.” With that on his mind, as the doors opened to let this other kid on, the short male gently moved his shoulder bag onto his lap to open up the seat beside him. Maybe, just maybe, this person would sit beside him if the chance was given.

He boarded the buss, heading to his usual seat in the back only to see someone already sitting there. He frowned, heading farther down the bus. People would move their bags so he couldn't sit. Then he saw an open seat next to a white-haired male. "Can I sit here?" He asked him quietly.

Charlie was never one to stare, being taught by his loved ones that it was deemed as rude, but he couldn’t help himself from eyeing the other male as they boarded the bus along with their backpack like it was any normal day. He watched as he went to a specific seat that was already occupied by someone, who didn’t even bother to acknowledge them while looking at their phone--most likely playing a game of some sort--before he started to move down the center aisle once again. Most kids took up the seats with their large backpacks or with their own friends, which was normal for a school bus. His widened slightly as he noticed they drawing closer to his area on the bus now and quickly looked at his bag that rested in his lap, strands of snow white hair drifting onto his face as he pretended to be looking at the various pins that were attached to the front flap of the pack. Then, a voice came from beside him, making Charlie glance to his right to meet eyes with another male with green eyes, who had politely asked if he could sit beside him in a lowered tone. “S-Sure,” The other male responded, his voice cracking slightly. Usually, Freddie would be the one to talk for him, being the more social one, but this time, it was all on him to make these decisions and answer. “My n-name’s Charlie.” He decided to introduce himself rather than ask a stupid question before directing his gaze back down to the bag in his lap, the male’s face becoming flushed a slight tint of embarrassed red.

Once the other male looked at him and then actually asked if he was new, Charlie looked down at his shoulder bag that rested in his lap and clasped his hands together as he vigorously nodded for a moment or two with his face becoming red with embarrassment again--showing how shy and timid he really was. “Yes, this is my first day of attending a public school,” He admitted after a second of silence, “I’ve always been homeschooled by my family and never been out on my own like this, or at least, not in a very long time.” The white-haired male hoped that he wouldn’t be teased too harshly for being a somewhat newbie to this place, surrounded by other kids that were around his age level that he had never met before. Ryder always spoke of his own schooling experiences back home and how stressful it could be, but it was something that everyone eventually had to go through. “I do hope that the kids are not too harsh here..” He murmured to Ashton, though he knew luck was not on his side today.
