Doesong stood at the border staring into the distance. She didn't care if a thunderclan cat saw her. A river clan one would be worse. It hurt her more then anything that she wasn't pure Riverclan but, having a evil mother made it even worse. How could she live like this? She wished she could just curl up in a ball and let all her troubles float away, sadly, that wasn't going to happen.

"Salmonrush, I'm so sorry,I know what it's like to lose litter mates, I lost my brothers the same day I lost my mother." Silentshade said softly. " And I'm sure that Viperstrike was proud to call you her brother, and her kit's Uncle," then, her blue green eyes clouded. " How are we going to tell Hawkwing, he'll be distraught about Viperstrike, any mate would, and I'm pretty sure that he'd want to tell the kits who he is...." Silentshade then turned to Bloodkit. " Did your mother tell you who your father is little one?" The kit in Salmonrush's mouth shook his head before Bloodkit could answer. " No, Mother just said that our Father lived in another clan, she didn't tell us which one though..." the kit trailed off into silence

But no one was dumb enough to miss the bristling fur on the back of his spine, so Falconclaw concluded that the feline must be just plain brave. An admirable trait, but one that Falconclaw had found was all too easy to rid other cats of. After all, not everyone could be brave all the time. Especially cats who desperately wanted you to think that they were. Falconclaw had found it was all too easy to expose weak spots in those cats. Still, by the way she was smiling and talking on, he came to the conclusion that she wasn't brave, nor stupid. She was just cheerful. An optimist. The type of cat he hadn't met in a long, long time. And, the last cat he would expect to see from over the border. The smell of RiverClan, a musky scent hanging in the air and one that was not at all like ThunderClan's, bothered the tom.
But he couldn't blame her. It wasn't her fault she lived in such a bad Clan. Though, that was his outlook on pretty much every other Clan. RiverClan's smell was so strong, he would never-- ever-- be able to deal with it. ShadowClan was not to be trusted, whatsoever, at any time. WindClan was weak. Very, very weak... he hated the Clan quite a bit. And SkyClan? What did they really know about the newest Clan? For all he knew, they could be another Dusk Syndicate, or a place that was full of cats like Ratnight; not that he minded; but he did mind the fact that they could just be sitting, waiting, waiting their chance to take over the Clans. They had single-handedly fought against leaders before. Couldn't they do so again? It wouldn't be that hard, Falconclaw had often thought about it... but he was satisfied enough. Except, he really didn't like Snowstar that much. Fennelnose was alright, she was older, had enough experience... but Snowstar? The former deputy, now leader, was just a little over half his age.

Half his age! And yet, she was leader. Thank goodness she had an older deputy, otherwise, things could go downhill very quickly. Crash and burn, so to speak. Suddenly remembering that he wasn't alone at the border, Falconclaw's hues strayed back to the she cat before him. She was alright. Probably hadn't been a supporter of her leader before... who was it that had taken command? He had no idea. Whoever it was, he knew it wasn't Bucknight. Falconclaw didn't listen to a lot of the gossip going around, as a matter of fact, he ignored it. He certainly wouldn't be involved in the latest talks about the new leader. Though he was all too knowledgeable on the goings-on in his own clan. And, at the moment, he didn't approve of a single cat that was in the High Ranks. Though, it wasn't his choice to approve or disapprove of them. It was StarClan's; and while that name struck hatred into Falconclaw's heart towards SkyClan, there was nothing he could do about it.

He supported StarClan! He did! He just... felt like leaders should be taken by them, not forced to give up their leadership by some random cat. Like Gyrestar... Falconclaw hadn't liked him at all. Too playful. Not serious enough. And if anything, he figured Snowstar would be worse. Too young, too inexperienced... what was she supposed to do? Just learn on the go? And, to make matters worse, now she'd taken on a mate. That was the little bit of gossip that Falconclaw had heard, the little bit that he hated more then anything else. It wasn't right! Not so soon. But, again, there was nothing he could do about it, and he would have to just sit back and wait. Watch. Wait for a time to come when leadership would be a little more... strong. He wasn't sure how much of the Clan supported Snowstar and Fennelnose, but he was confident older warriors... perhaps some supporters of Ratnight, who knew?-- cats who had grown up during the time when Ashstar was leader, like himself, probably would prefer more experienced warriors to be leading their Clan.

At least more serious ones. "Uh, ah, well it's nice to meet you, Cloudrain." Uncertain what to do with such a friendly cat, and suddenly remembering once more that she was still there, the tom shifted his weight. His expression was worried, eyes flitting from one side to another. Was it really nice to meet her? Or would he rather be somewhere else? He couldn't answer that himself, so he sincerely doubted she would be able to. Her next words put a scowl in his mind and a false smile on his features. If things were going so well, they would probably be around for a long time to come. Pity. He didn't really want the other Clans around at all, though if everyone in them was as naive and seemingly trusting as Cloudrain, he shouldn't be too worried about competition. If only the old leaders were back. While everything they had done, he hadn't approved of... most things had been justifiable. He understood why, and he appreciated that they actually cared for their Clans.

"Oh. That's-- good, things are going well in ThunderClan too."
It wasn't really a lie. With green-leaf beginning to warm up, and prey beginning to venture out of their holes more, or heading back, away from the warmer areas... there would soon be an abundance of prey. It would be well-appreciated after leaf-bare. And, he was sure the new leader was grateful. After a moment, he glanced back up at Cloudrain. With her type of personality he sincerely doubted she had liked it under Bucknight's rule. Still, couldn't do much harm to ask. "This could be a bit of a personal question." Like, really personal. "And you don't have to answer." I won't appreciate it, but you don't. "But, what did you think about Bucknight?" In his own Clan, opinions were spread out as though no one cared what others thought of them. Now, at least... even old supporters were sharing their thoughts when opening up to each other began to happen more and more often. Awaiting her answer, Falconclaw continued to shift his weight... he felt just the slightest bit uncomfortable. After all, that might have been a personal question... and she had the opportunity here to make him feel quite stupid. His question was: would she take it?
Brave and stupid. Neither word would exactly define Cloudrain. Not in this situation anyway. The she-cat wasn’t stupid. Obviously, she made those stupid mistakes that everyone made once in awhile, but other than that she was a generally stupid free cat. Brave? Well, brave might not be quite the word to describe her. The RiverClan warrior was more so….oblivious. She was oblivious to quite a few things, not seeming to think before she did something. This was often putting her in rather tight situations, however Cloudrain took no notice of this. Being the kind of cat that somehow managed to turn something difficult into something positive, the she-cat just kept her smile up and searched for anything that could help her. It was dangerous and rather risky, but it seemed to work. As long as she had a smile on, Cloudrain was okay. She was fine and she wasn’t stressed out. The warrior didn’t normally experience anything like stress, sadness or anger. She was just too….happy. The tabby was also rather naive. She trusted others easily and didn’t see bad in anyone, although exceptions were sometimes made. Cloudrain was innocent and trusting, something that some cats seemed to take advantage of. And, she always fell for it. Although, the she-cat wasn’t completely idiotic. She would always eventually work out that something suspicious was going on and she would kind of just walk off and stop hanging out with that cat. Seeing as Cloudrain wasn’t really the type to go confront someone about taking advantage of her trusting nature, so that was really the best plan that she had. And it was one that she was happy to stick to. The silver tabby had no intentions on coming up with a new plan any time soon. She didn’t need to. While cats did tend to manipulate her, it didn’t happy all that often. Just once in awhile. The she-cat could never tell when it was going to happen, considering she couldn’t tell the future, but she knew it would eventually happen at some point.

While the tom in front of her didn’t know who was RiverClan’s current leader, Cloudrain was well aware that ThunderClan had recently had a new leader step up. Snowstar? Wasn’t that her name? About a moon ago, the silver tabby had heard that a new deputy name Snowsong had been appointed. On a border patrol a few days ago, Cloudrain had heard some ThunderClan warriors talking about a new leader. It made the she-cat wonder, what happened to Gyrestar? Had he stepped down? Left the clan? Or had he died? Despite the fact that the tomcat was from another cat, that didn’t mean that she hoped that he had died. Cloudrain hated death, it was such a depressing thing and it hardly ever did anyone any good. And thinking about it, Gyrestar had only reigned for a short amount of time. Or had it really been that short? The she-cat couldn’t really tell. The moons always seemed to whip by so quickly for the warrior. Each day passed like a blur and Cloudrain could never be very certain with how long something had been going on for.

There were so many questions that were constantly going through the she-cats head. She was a cat filled with curiosity and interest in almost everything. If one were to venture into her mind, they would find themselves in a land of confusion. There were just so many ideas, suggestions and questions going through her mind that not even Cloudrain knew how she managed to keep up with it all. She enjoyed searching for her answers although had a habit of getting bored of something and quickly moving on. With so many things in the world to explore, the she-cat was always having problems with sticking to just one thing and completing that before moving on to yet another thing. The tabby warrior just couldn’t sit still and she needed to have lots of things to do. That was how she lived through her life and how she powered herself through each day. She had endless bundles of energy, and all she needed was an endless supply of interest. Having interest in something was Cloudrain’s way of using her energy. After all, if she had too much energy at the end of the day, she would then be struggling to sleep, and despite her bouncy nature, she really liked sleeping. It was a time where the warrior could just rest her paws and put her mind at peace.

“It’s nice to meet you too!” Cloudrain replied with a large amount of enthusiasm. If this were anyone else saying this, most would’ve assumed that they were just saying this as an act of politeness. However, this wasn’t ‘anyone else’. This was Cloudrain. The majority of things that this she-cat said were genuine and not for the sake of good manners. She was an honest cat and didn’t like telling a lie. For the sake of keeping up a positive mood, she would tell a white lie for the sake a happiness and hope, but other than that, she didn’t lie. Why didn’t she like lying? Well who did? What was the point in lying? For Cloudrain, the reason she didn’t like lying was mainly because she didn’t like hiding things. Anyone could see that she was a very open cat that loved sharing things with friends and family. She didn’t like lying because lying meant that you were hiding something. The truth. The she-cat often felt guilty for hiding something like the truth from those around her. It just made her feel regretful and guilty. Those were two emotions that Cloudrain absolutely hated feeling.

The question made her frown and think. It wasn’t a frown of sadness, more so one of thought. Cloudrain didn’t normally have to think about things, she just blurted them out as she heard it. This particular question however, made her think carefully about how she wanted to answer. Bucknight, had been an evil cat. But, the she-cat had always wondered why he had done it. What if he had down it for the hope that something good would happen to his clan? It was a highly unlikely answer, and one that only Cloudrain would ever think of. But if that really was what had been going on through that tom’s mind, then technically that just made him a twisted good guy. She didn’t like accusing others, so the she-cat was rather stumped by this question. Cloudrain decided to just go with what she had and parted her jaws to reply. However, she wondered if that sounded rather stupid. After all, Bucknight hadn’t exactly been kind to his clanmates, so technically he wasn’t all that good. “I don’t know. He was an evil cat but maybe there’s something we never got to know about him,” Cloudrain finally responded. Even she highly doubted that he was a good guy. He was one of those rare cats that the warrior would actually say that they had no good in them.

He was one of those rare cats that the warrior would actually say that they had no good in them.
Something we never got to know about him? Now that was something that Falconclaw hadn't been expecting, and it took the tom by surprise. What did she mean by that? He was evil... plain and simple, right? Not that Falconclaw cared much, he wasn't one to go for good/evil stereotypes. They were crazy to him, to be honest. Who cared? Who honestly used the words 'good and evil' anymore? Everyone was just a cat. Either brave, stupid, foolish, or noble, they were all just cats. But good and evil might be a strong word to describe either one. This was one of the only things about Falconclaw that was really... well... a positive trait. He was pretty aggressive. Ambitious. Protective. Mainly loyal, and even at the moment, he felt guilty talking to this she cat. She was nice, but what had a nice cat ever done for him? Spottedsong was nice. A nice cat, and what had she done? As far as he knew, she was throwing her life away. As far as he knew, she could be 'evil.'

Or... maybe he was the 'evil' one. A stereotype that seemed to follow him to the ends of the earth, and that would probably continue to plague him even past death. What was wrong with being bad, anyways? Bad cats had been the ones to make the Clans stronger. They had outlawed StarClan; which, at the time, Falconclaw had thought was the worst thing possible, but now he was learning that there were much worse things. Like having... oh, I don't know, a leader that's what, 17? 18 moons old? It was unthinkable. And yet it was the very thing they were going through at the moment. Utterly disgusting to the tom, and he absolutely hated the thought. But his beloved ThunderClan was being led by the young leader, and at least Fennelnose was older... knew what she was doing... would be able to protect the Clan in times of need. At least there was one cat that Falconclaw would trust with his life. Because Snowstar, well... she wasn't going to cut it.

She was dangerous. In more ways then one. Her ideas, her young love, all of it was very much disapproved of by Falconclaw. He didn't like her at all. What was he to do about it, though? He was no Ratnight. And besides, there weren't enough cats for an uprising. If there were any at all. Which Falconclaw also highly doubted, a lot of cats seemed to be overly fond of the pampered, spoiled kitten. She was barely old enough to be a warrior! And yet she was leading their Clan. Leading everyone. How... what... it was impossible for the tom to wrap his mind around. And, he all but verbally refused to do so. To be honest, it was hard for Falconclaw to accept anyone but Ratnight or Ashstar. They were the two leaders he remembered. The two he had appreciated throughout his life. The two he had learned to accept, and now? Being taken over by an evil cat hadn't been enough. Then Gyrestar... what a strange cat... had come to take over. Now Snowstar? Was there any cat he would believe in anymore?

Wheatfur. He was alright. But he wasn't a leader, and he wouldn't be able to help the Clan. Besides... a medicine cat's beliefs seemed silly to Falconclaw. They were expected to believe all that junk that StarClan told them? Oh no, no, no... it was too much for him to wrap his mind around as well. A lot of things were. See, Falconclaw wasn't exactly intelligent. Sure he was able to act like it. And yes, he was a strategist, and problem solver, so in a lot of ways he was intelligent. But... areas of medicine cats and leadership was where he seemed to become average. Just like his clanmates. They had no idea what it was like to lead or be a medicine cat either, other then the two who actually were. Three, if Fennelnose was counted in a leader-like position. She... sort of was? In Falconclaw's mind she was twice the leader that Snowstar would ever be, perhaps even three times. Nine lives to lose for Snowstar, and she would be gone... bye bye, and Fennelnose would take her place.

If the tom lived that long. He was getting close to 40 moons old, and from what he had heard, warriors rarely lived past 120 moons. That was the oldest he had ever heard of a cat getting. An exasperated expression crossed his features shortly after he thought about this, wondering how long the cheerful feline before him would live. Realizing how rude he must seem for not responding, Falconclaw quickly managed to snap out of his thoughts and return to the present, giving her a weak smile. "Ah, um... I doubt there was anything you didn't know about him. But evil might be stretching the truth a bit, don't you think? Cats can do evil things. But they, personally, aren't evil. Just like you or I, personally, aren't good." It was something he was rather proud of. A conclusion that he'd come to long ago and was sticking to, no matter what other cats might say. Then again... Falconclaw wasn't exactly popular anyways, so he'd had to learn long ago to let things roll off of him.

It hadn't been an easy road. Not one he had liked too much, anyways. Clearing his throat, the tip of the tom's tail began to twitch back and forth like he was stalking a mouse... though he didn't view the innocent feline as prey, oh no. He wasn't one of those very sickening cats. Falconclaw thought of cats as cats, and prey as prey... nothing else. There would never be anything else in the tom's mind. Thank goodness he wasn't a twisted cat, things could get awkward very quickly otherwise. With a yawn, and an expression of the slightest exasperation on his features, Falconclaw stretched out. Had she not been across the border this might have been a moment for a playful contact, or a snarky remark followed by a quick 'boop' on the head. Oh sure, it wasn't everyone Falconclaw did this with. Just the cats he thought would be able to handle it, like the cheerful she cat before him. How was it that she was so happy? It didn't make much sense to the tom, but he would have to get used to it.

Some odd thing was making him believe he would see her again. The type of thoughts those awful forbidden romance cats must have, he thought with a snort. Of course he wouldn't see her again! It would be disloyal. Too much for him to handle. Naturally Falconclaw would be avoiding the she cat, it would only make sense, wouldn't it? Besides; with them being in different clans it wouldn't be too difficult. Just a bit of staying away from the border, gatherings... that was all it was going to take. And he would never see her again. "Cloudrain, wasn't it? Look... I don't know if you've quite noticed this--" cue the hint that he was about to say something that probably wasn't the nicest thing ever-- "but we are on opposite sides of the border. Meaning if I were you, I would tread carefully. It's dangerous ground to make a friend in another Clan." This was a warning, not a threat, and it was out of concern. She didn't look like the strongest warrior.

And frankly, Falconclaw didn't want to see something happen to the, in his opinion, naive she cat.

Default Re: ThunderClan | RiverClan Border

Cottonfrost's lithe dark form slid between the trees, quick as a shadow. His icy blue eyes scanned the unveiled undergrowth before him with his typical sure-of-himself look plastered to his handsome face. His paws made a deep thrumming sound as he ran at an easy pace. Pricking his elegantly smooth ears, he picked up the faint scent of RiverClan. Immediately, the blue-black fur along his spine spiked with wariness. Is it just me, or is the scent of those RiverClanners stronger than usual?
The tom silently chided himself for sounding so worrisome. Cottonfrost was near the RiverClan border, so wouldn't it smell of those fish-munchers? He slowed to an easy lope, his breath regaining a position through him as he pondered what to do. He had originally come out for a quick breath and maybe a short hunt, but a small border scout couldn't hurt.
The tom hurried without carelessness to the border, which was now in sight. He didn't see anyone, but who cared. It was a nice day, so why not make the most of it. With a flick of his ears, the male parted his jaws, drawing in the scent of the forest. Immedietly, vole smell caught his attention. He spotted the little fellow scurrying just on the edge of the border. With a quick register of the correct stalking position, Cottonfrost slid into a hunter's crouch. He crept forward on quiet paws and was just about to pounce when the animal scurried away as fast as it's stumpy legs could go. Snarling defiantly, the feline dashed after it and caught the prey, delivering a sharp snap of his jaws to kill it. Little did he realize that he had crossed the border, the realization lost in the flurry of the catch.

(Cloudrain and Falconclaw he didn't see becuase he is near the lake)

Is it just me, or is the scent of those RiverClanners stronger than usual?
The tom silently chided himself for sounding so worrisome. Cottonfrost was near the RiverClan border, so wouldn't it smell of those fish-munchers? He slowed to an easy lope, his breath regaining a position through him as he pondered what to do. Doesong, headed back to camp done pitying her self. Life would be bad if she came back and didn't catch anything, Doesong headed toward the river, she twitched her nose to pick up any sign of prey but instead she smelt Thunderclan!!! Doesong followed the sent until she reached the border, she hissed when she saw a thunderclan tom. Doesong, unseathed her claws "What are you doing on our side of the border?" she hissed her brown tabby pelt rippling.

Cottonfrost was about to head back into the woods when he heard the female's challenge. He looked up, about to retort, when he realized he indeed was on the wrong side. His fierce reply died in his throat as he took a step back. Best to take this as calmly as possible.
The dark-haired male took a small step backwards, his icy gaze glinting with expressionless emotion. He still held the prey in his mouth; like he'd lose the first catch of the day. It was his, he stalked it! It just happens to be just across the border.
"Hunting, ofcourse." Cottonfrost didn't know what drove him to be cocky with his words, it just slipped out. Well, The tom thought wryly. At least I'm not that far into rival clan's territory. But, still, his ragged prickled uneasily. She would not be excused for a provoked attack now.

The tom was silent for a moment.
"Hunting of Course.

"Hunting!? Yeah right thats our prey, It's on our side of the border, Thunderclan!" She said it like being a Thunderclan cat was a curse, though she instantly wanted to take back her words. She shuffled her paws, unsure what to do now.

Great, he had gotten himself into this mess, and now he had to get himself out of it. Cottonfrost huffed a small bit of laughter.
"RiverClan only eats fish anyways." He retorted, a sly grin on his face. Then, the male sat down, a whicker away from the border (still on his side) and tipped his head slightly to the left, pasting a curious expression on his face.
"Are you a lone patrol?" He asked, intrigued. Was RiverClna so weak that they only sent one-warrior patrols these days?
