He'd never been great at that to begin with, and his mentor hadn't focused on it that much.

Snakepaw twitched and spat out his bundle "Heard a fox, we're going home. Now. Last time I saw a fox it slaughtered a full grown warrior despite both me and Lionstorm being there we are leaving." Maybe this fear was going a more parinoid direction then the tom potentially wanted but his sibling, his last surviving blood sibling was on this patrol and was not risking it. They had herbs and if Sparrowskip needed more he could go out on a patrol himself. So with that the lanky tom picked up his bundle and started hot footing it back to camp, done with the cold and the potential dangers of the territory.

Brighttalon's ear came back up. He kept it and the other one perked and alert for possible dangers, although they weren't very far from camp yet - at all. He could still hear cats socializing and putting their paws to work. But there were predators that would dare come that close to snag a kit or small apprentice.

Once they'd gone a bit from camp, far enough for prey to be around, Brighttalon stopped. "Do you know how to do a hunter's crouch?" As soon as the words came out, though, he regretted them. Of course Whitepaw hadn't, he hadn't taught her it yet. @WinterRabbit5350

Brighttalon didn't even try to hide his groan. Whitepaw became more irritating each heartbeat he spent with her. The sassiness was another thing that would have to end. In the meantime, he would see if being straightforward and direct would work with her. And maybe he could put a pinch of tolerance in there, too. But the patience was out, the jar emptied long ago. "Yes and no," he mewed. "You crouch, but it's a special crouch." @WinterRabbit5350

And there went the jar of tolerance. It fell and shattered, got washed away by a flood, then smashed with a hammer into microscopic pieces. "There's nothing special about you. And then the voice, who hadn't bothered him since he woke up, seemed to realize what happened and came in with a comment of its own. You're right. There isn't anything special about her, or anyone. Finally. Prissy Miss Whitepaw kept her petty, self-centered comments to herself. Brighttalon just hoped it would last. Even 10 seconds would be better than nothing. Thankful for the moment of silence, he started to teach. Dropping into a crouch in the instinctive way, he looked at his apprentice, amber eyes burning with the words he wasn't saying, which included, watch this, don't start, and I mean it. @WinterRabbit5350

She was happy she didn't want to start, she even was considering grooming during training, but then again, did she want to be lectured on why `grooming shouldn't be done during training`, actually yeah nah, she'll groom when she gets back to camp, a lecture from a old piece of crowfood wasn't worth it. @Phoenix Fall
