Pine’s Lament (open to 1)

Pinepaw ran from ShadowClan territory, leaving the clan territories behind. You coward, damn coward… He hated himself for leaving his clan behind, for leaving Moonpaw behind. “Damn all of this…” he growled. Clawing his way through the undergrowth, he looked for a place to build a den. In his makeshift den, which was as prickly as Pinepaw’s pelt and personality. He slept inside of the den, growling in annoyance. You don’t deserve a clan name. You’ll be known as Pine from now on. Idiot.

Pine got up, stretching. “Good morning to nobody.” He trudged onwards, scenting prey. Squirrel. I’m not ThunderClan. Pine sighed at his own stupidity. To be fair, dumbass, I’m not really any clan. So that argument is invalid.

A young brown she-cat pranced by, as her morning walk was interrupted by the sight of another cat.

“Um hello?” The she-cat said loudly, being weary to not be too close.

Pine’s ears flicked to a voice. “Who are you?” He meowed. He was tempted to attack the she-cat, but decided it wasn’t worth it. “Why are you here? If you’re just passing by, then that’s fine.” Pine licked his chest, before he continued speaking. “My name is Pine— Just Pine. Pine. Yeah, that’s my name. Dammit. Why was that awkward? Gahhhh stop MONOLOGUING.” He sighed. “Sorry, I haven’t talked to any cats besides my sister in a while. And it’s been days since me and her talked.” Pine, shut the hell up. He told himself.

The confused molly laughed a bit at the strange tom.

“My owners-… well I believe two-legs you cats call them, named me Peanut Butter……but shouldn’t I be asking you that question on why your her, Pine?”
Peanut's tail swayed as she approached closer a bit curious of him.

“Well what I meant was….you know I see lots of cats here but never one of you….um…clan? Yeah, clan cats before.”

Peanut's tail swayed as she approached closer a bit curious of him.

Pine let out a sarcastic chuckle. “Must have leaked out my former clan cat status when I was moving here. I was a part of ShadowClan, but now I live here.” He paused. “So, what brings you here Peanut, can I call you that?” Pine picked up a squirrel’s scent, and the squirrel was black, an unusual colour for squirrels. Pine barely caught the squirrel, as it was clawing at him. He put down the fluffy black squirrel in front of Peanut Butter. “For you.”

(Oh ok, noted. Peanut used to be a clan cat, that’s the only way she knows.
Dw, it’s ok. I’m like half asleep :'] I only replied so well early in the morning my time because I thought I had to go to work.)

The brown molly looked at him confused, What was he talking about, she wondered.

“No, nothing leaked out, not that I’m aware of……What-,” she stopped herself as she heard her owners yowl her name. She thought for a moment and smiled at the tom.

“Look, I have to go but there’s an abandoned rabbit den under that tree with mice and birds. You can stay there if you'd like. There’s enough room for about five grown cats!” Peanut gestured over to a tree near a small stream then trotted away to a twolegs nest that wasn’t far from there.

Pine sighed. “Alright, bye then. Thanks for the home advice. See you soon. I hope.” He destroyed his den, and headed for the tree. Pine entered the abandoned rabbit den, falling asleep.
