Hawthorn takes a deep breath, "So, I-um-might-maybe-like you? D-do you like me?" He then turns beet red, realising he just confessed something he'd been hiding for so long, for years even.

Spooky didn’t quite understand what kind of like he meant, so, she decided to give the generic response. “Yeah, you’re a great friend!” Her face got more red as seconds passed.
