Default Re: WindClan Clearing

Cottonspark's long, sweeping white tail flicked around her head, the black tip twitching. The long furred she-cat was sitting by the freshkill pile, her mismatched eyes narrowed as she contemplated the idea of hunting. With a small nod, the white furred she-cat stood up, her eyes sparkling in anticipation of the hunt. She stretched and rasped her tounge through her fur.

Cottonspark's one true passion was running. She loved the adrenaline, the wind whistling through her long fur, the feel of sandy moorland under her racing paws, the sweet scent of heather in her nose. Running was what the small she-cat lived for. Cottonspark was also a very fast cat, on the faster side of WindClan's already great speed. She had a lithe frame built for this exact reason. The she-cat could zoom over the moor in a white blur.

She hadn't exactly explored these trees before, not when she'd felt so much more connected to the moors of WindClan, a place where she always belonged, where she felt a connection- it was like life without Moonpaw, her very best friend. Incomplete. There were a couple flower bushes around the area, thankfully- something pretty to look at, to distract her from her nerves. She'd never exactly seen flowers, either, besides the occasional marigold or heather close to camp, but she'd heard more about them. "...This one looks pretty." She mumbled quietly, scooping a smaller violet up with her paw, tearing it away from it's stem and trying her best to tuck it behind her ear. "I'll give it to her when I get back." She smiled, though her happiness didn't seem to last very long.

A scream suddenly rang out through the forest, and Tawnypaw's ears perked up in fright as she recognized the voice immediately. Moon! Rushing to find wherever the source of her voice had come from, another squeak alerting her to the site right by the abandoned twoleg nest they'd found, where her friend might be in trouble. Thrashing her tail as she ran, her paws skidded across the ground as the she-cat suddenly came to a stop. It reeked of some other animal, something she didn't recognize- and in front of her was her best friend, lying limp on the ground. The flower she'd collected tumbled off of her head as she paused abruptly, landing in a crimson pool by the other apprentice's body as Tawnypaw gasped, twitching as she sobbed, a tear or two slipping across her face as she let out a mangled scream. "This... This wasn't supposed to happen... It was supposed to have a happy ending, with the two of us!" She whispered, closing her eyes for a split second, though they were forced open just a second later.

The badger's claws slashed against her ears from behind, with the apprentice screaming again as she stumbled away, fear marked in her eyes. He'd hit something, something that snapped her back, shut off everything else but what she could see. "Help...!" She gasped, scrambling as far away as she could from the badger on her smaller paws, headed as quickly as she could somewhere towards camp. She tried to make sense of her words, but somehow, she didn't know how they sounded- she was caught in the moment. "Please, anybody, help!" She listened to hear any sign that the badger was following her, but there wasn't anything. She didn't know if the wind was blowing, or if there even were other cats talking around her who'd heard her scream. She couldn't sense their voices, even if somebody was there.

Somehow, she was tuned out.

[ @Suspiciousmindz do you want blazing to appear here? ]

@wolybro @Lilly

Blazingstar was just heading back towards the camp after a quick border patrol. He had brought Fireflare and Spireflare along with him. It was just the normal routine, just an average day along the borders. Nothing new had been stirred up and no cat dared challenged the three felines. As the camp came into view, he heard wailing. Immediately he thought the camp was under attack. Golden hues grew wide with terror and his ginger fur started to stand on end. His ears perked in the direction of the camp and just as he was about to race towards it, he realized the wailing wasn't coming from the camp, but somewhere close by in the territory. Whoever it was, they were headed up on them quickly.

With the same appearance, he spun around to face the sounds of the wailing. Blazingstar's gaze rested on Tawnypaw. With a quick movement, he ran up to meet her before she ran into the camp, he didn't need other clan mates freaking out. "Tawnypaw?" he paused, skidding to a halt in front of her, bracing himself if she happened to run straight into him. "Tawnypaw, what's wrong?" he asked, the worried filled the tone of his voice. However, just as the words left his mouth, a awfully familiar smell crossed his scent glands. Badger. The scent was fresh on the apprentice, but otherwise, he didn't smell the lumbering beast anywhere around him.

Blazingstar shot the other two warriors a glance, clearly urging the two to understand the sudden danger they were in. He didn't need Tawnypaw to answer, but he needed to get back to camp. Wait. "Was there anyone else with you?" he asked. His voice seemed hurried suddenly. If there was someone facing the badger alone, there was no way they could drive it off single-pawed. The situation just escalated in his mind.

Spireflare and Fireflare walked on either side of the leader, as if they were some escorts. The sun shined over head to rest nicely on their ginger fur, and felt good to know that there had been no trouble at their borders, seeing nobody had challenged them. In sync, both of the twins heads whipped back towards the screech, ears twitching at the sounds. As the leader ran after the sound and apprentice, they both looked at eachother and nodded, following in pursuit.
Now the twins may not like their leader that much, but when it came to possibly being able to get their claws on a badger they were willing to put their dislikes aside. Two pairs of green hues rested on Tawnypaw, seeing as the apprentice seemed pretty shaken up. Can't we raise more fierce warriors then frightened apprentices? The twin toms looked at eachother, seemingly thinking the same thing. Their mouths were open for the scent, though there eyes caught no sign of movement around them. When their leader looked back at them, they puffed out their chests in sync. "I think Tawnypaw should lead us where they saw the badger-" Fireflare started, "and then we can possibly distract it enough to have the other cat escape from it's grasp." Spireflare finished. They always seemed to know what the other was going to say, even in tense moments like this.

Her eyes turned serious to explain how important this was. "Even with your life!" She smiled. "But hopefully noting will happen, you would be able to fight off any attacker without even trying." Her firey pelt shone in the dim sunlight. I love young apprentices, it feels like... Having my own kit. Flamestorm smiled encouragingly. The feeling finding out she could never have kits and her former being hit by a monster suddenly faded. This kit brought light to her heart, filled holes that would never be filled. "You know how much I appreciate having you as an apprentice?"

"Kittypets? Aren't they the ones who live with twolegs? I've only ever heard of them in the stories StormTail told us. My favourite was the black tendril cat down in the tunnels!" ShinePaw gathered lots of sticks and vines, leaves, anything she could find and waved them around in a wriggling motion, trying to describe to her mentor the appearence of this mysterious cat. "But I have heard of rogues...you either end up fighting them off and making an enemy or you end up letting them join the clan and make a new friend. I too, was a rogue." She felt like she had already mentioned this to her mentor several times but she just wanted to be clear that not all of her rogue roots had disappeared into clan life. "I don't know, how much do you appreciate me?" ShinePaw asked, mockingly, pale eyes narrowed.

"Well since you are my first apprentice after Ivypaw, I'm sure you have heard about her...And her accident.... I practicly needed you," Her tail swished, she felt awkward. "Anyway kittypets do live with twolegs, correct, But sometimes, theres a kittypet called Tiger, he is my nephew." She did not want to go into dephs with her past, which was confusing enough already.

"Well I will make sure no cat hurts Tiger if I see him. Unless he's dangerous, is he dangerous?" Then Ivypaw crossed her mind "oh. Ivypaw is what you were thinking about earlier...and that's why you were so nervous to take me to the thunderpath." She sighed "I would hate it too." ShinePaw gave Flamestorm a comforting lick on the cheek then padded on, scenting the air for anymore prey.

She looked at her paws and saw blasckness in the corner of her eyes. She saw star-figured catsx and she looked ast them. "Are you taking me away?" She asked, A tang of worry hinted her voice.

A she-cat padded up. "No. We will let you live. If your conditions get worse, I will take you away from what you know." She looked over to SurgeStorm. She padded up to him and touched her nose to his head. "Hello" she purred. "You couldn't save me, I'm grateful that you tried" she said Another purr rumbled in her throat.

You guys aren't in any condition to be up and about. You need to rest and I will tell Blazingstar." she said, and looked at Surgestorm. A troubled look was on her face. She didn't like the blood, nor the wounds. However she wanted to help, and so she shook off the feeling she had and put on a strong face, her blue orbs still showing her discomfort however.
She then watch the molly wheezing and her heart dropped. The molly looked as if she was going to die, and her tail flicked nervously. She watched, her blue orbs wide in fear, her maw agape slightly. She hoped the molly could pull through. But things looked as if she was breathing her last.

Skitkit raced over. She buried her nose in her fur. "What's wrong with you?"
"N-nothing.." She rasped.
"Mommy? Are you gonna be OK?"
"I hasve to be." Fear made her chest worse. She started to cough and dasrkness engulfed her. She woke up and saw starry cats again. She got up, healthy and new.
Surgestorm took a deep breath and went to Featherlight, taking a moment to observe her condition. Did I make the right choice before? She looks worse off than her mate now... He shook the thoughts away, knowing there was no time to doubt himself. He had to get to savin her. The tom took more moss and pressed it to the warrior wound, and the wounds finally ceased bleeding. Of course, she had already lost quite a lot of blood. It'd be up to her strength now whether she'd live or die. He waited a moment, and grabbed some freshly picked chamomile that he had obtained from the indoor twoleg garden, nudging it close to the she-cat's mouth. "Eat this, it'll sooth you and give you strength." He turned to Leopard giving her a small nod and stepping back from his patient. There was nothing else he could do, she was on her own to pull through now. He took a moment to observe Spottedheart once more, seeing that she was asleep.

His own hues flashed for a moment, somewhat more worriedly then her own, but then one of his rare smiles spread across his features. They had become less and less evasive over the past moon or so, considering he had been spending more time with the senior warrior and getting to know her so much better. This was something that gave him quite a bit of satisfaction. "Hello, Heathertail. You're doing well this morning, I trust?" He asked, fixing his piercing hues on her-- though this time they were warmer. Something else that had been happening to the Deputy, which was fine for when he was talking to clanmates, but when he ran into a loner-- which had only happened a couple times-- or when he was trying to be more serious, it didn't seem to work quite as well for him.
Unfortunately, considering Shrikecall liked to be in control, and considering this took some of it away-- was it a good or bad thing? He didn't know. He could only wish that he did. "It's a pretty morning, isn't it? I was, uh...trying to find you, earlier. Thought-- maybe-- border check might be nice." He mumbled, his words trailing off. He never knew what to do when handling the she cat. She seemed like a delicate flower, one that deserved to be preserved forever and kept. And Shrikecall never knew how to handle delicate flowers. All he had ever done was stand at a distance and admire their beauty, knowing that if he touched them he could break them or worse, they might die. And he didn't want anything like that happening to Heathertail.
Heathertail. In his opinion, it was the perfect name for her. From her sleek brown pelt to eyes that always sparkled like miniature jewels, the she cat was an ideal companion for even just a day-- though in his case, that 'day' had turned into something much longer. And he hadn't meant for it to. But somehow, he knew things weren't going to be quite the same. Perhaps they would be better. And then again...perhaps they wouldn't. Who could say? Only time would tell where the two of them ended up.
Heathertail let her soft gaze study Shrikecall's face while he spoke. She liked the way the words seemed to come from him, with an authoritative yet soft and gentle tone. She'd been getting to know the tom on a deeper level than probably the rest of the Clan, and the warrior was liking what she was discovering so far. "I've been good, yes," she purred in response, flashing a grin towards the deputy. There was a certain way the sun was shining off his fur, and the soft breeze make his whiskers dance, that entranced the she-cat. Surely, the deputy didn't spend anymore time thinking about her than he did other members of the Clan - did he? The thought perplexed Heathertail, and she found it to be consuming in her mind.
"A border patrol? As long as we don't separate like last time," she teased lightly, lifting her tail up to slightly brush it along his shoulder, a playful look flashing across her expression. Despite having just come in for the territory on a walk, the thought of being able to join the deputy on another territory adventure excited the light brown she-cat.

(i am so sorry lone that it's so short, i'm experiencing a bit of writers block ;w; )

smallfeather was nestled in the nursery, her all black pelt was shinning in the suns rays, she looked down at the kits sucking at her belly, finchkit and robinkit. the kits where both brown tabbies like their unknown father, she sighed and curled her tail around them.

Honeydust swallowed, not used to the sudden hostility this molly brought, it was only something he wasn't quite used to. He winced a bit at the snap but didn't take it personally. This cat was sick, anyone could see that she must have heard the same suggestion a thousand times, though that didn't stop Honeydust from wanting to help her. Instad of snapping back and storming off, which he'd seen some cats do, Honeydust smiled sweetly and gave a soft chuckle of a laugh, seemingly unfazed by Emberdust's attitude.

"Oh StarClan, no, I could never be a medicine cat, too short of a memory, and I'd be so clumsy on my paws, I'd probably make my patient worse," The tom joked in hopes of brightening her mood, purring warmly to show he wasn't showing attitude or trying to be sarcastic.

"Honeydust, lovely to meet you, dear." Honeydust followed her eyes, then understood. She was a good sister, and she was hoping to help her brother with a potential mate. She had a good heart, but not too much of it showed on the outside. Honeydust could understand that, he'd seen it in many of the cats he'd met before and after he'd joined the clan.

He sighed, "You poor thing, I wouldn't worry too much about it, I'm sure it will work out, Blazingstar is pretty admirable from what I hear about him, no?" His eyes met her's, and he could feel his heart either stop or thrum harder, either way, he had to catch his breath. Why was she looking at him like that?
{ /v\" oh and I forgot to say this earlier. Thank you, your writing style also lovely~}

The orange molly blinked in amazement when the Tom simply smiled at her, she wasn't expecting that. Most of the time others took the hint and backed away, but this one decided to stay, peculiar. Her honey hues flickered with confusion and curiosity, she had found a new cat to study, a new cat to learn about, and possibly a cat she could learn from. Just the thought of learning something new made her heart skip a bead, she loved it, knowledge, it was one of the most beautiful things in the world, and her one true love. The rays of sun made her orange pelt seem more fiery, made her stand out a little more than usual. The camp clearing no longer had piles of snow littering it, rather it had a few patches of flowers growing in the corners and one patch of stunning pink flowers growing near the fresh kill pile. It awed her, the fact that each and every apprentice, warrior and even kit took care not to step on that small patch, it only held four flowers, all the same size and same shape. She had studies the actions of her clan mates to see exactly why they had left the patch be, yet she still came to no conclusion. Was it because it was rare to see flowers growing in the moors, or was it because of something more emotional. She had hoped it was the ladder one. She yanked herself back to the real world and gave the Tom a soft smile, she felt a little bad for snapping at him, he was just trying to help, although she could take care of herself.

Emberdust giggled a little at his statement and let out an exhausted sigh, it hurt to laugh. Her chest hurt, well more like it was sore from all of the coughing she did. It also refrained her from talking as much as she'd like to, giving others facts, stating her opinion aloud these were all of her favorite things to do when she wasn't working. "Oh, well thank Starclan you're not the medicine cat then. I'd much rather be in good paws than....well....yours, no offense." she stated, her eyes half idled. Now her brother had told her about other's emotions and stated that things she may say could sway them. They could react in about four ways, or in four ways she could understand. Anger, sadness, fear and bliss. Now Blazingstar had told her to be cautious of what she says, it could make cats react in the wrong way. The ember colored molly still didn't understand it though, she found her clanmates emotions to be....well, complicated, she could never reallly figure out why they react the way they do and why. She cocked her head to the side as he introduced himself "Honeydust." she stated softly, it rolled off her round nicely, almost naturally it pleased her. She nodded her head and smiled "It is very nice to meet you as well." she said, which was ended with a belly aching cough, her voice horse from all of the cough in earlier. She had hoped it would have gone away naturally, but that didn't seem to be the case this time. Upon Honeydust's statement about her brother she snorted "He's an absolute mouse brain. I wouldn't be worrying about him otherwise." she stated, her cheek against the ground, the grass tickling her nose. Her eyes were still fixated on the Tom above her, her orbs danced with curiosity and interest. She wanted to get to know the other better, study him, figure out his patterns. Every cat has a pattern to them, every cat followed certain rules, specific, personal rules, no cats patterns were alike, and she loved deducing what those patterns were.
