Fernstar slowly stepped out of his den, squinting his eyes as the sun beamed down through the canopy overhead. He yawned as he heard a soft Good morning Fern and responded aloud with "Good morning to you too." Now obviously he wasn't exactly talking to anyone in particular which is what cats who saw him would think but in reality, he was talking to the tree that his den was built around, a large, thick, old oak tree standing taller than all the others. He sat down in front of the entrance to his den and smiled tiredly as he thought to the tree So, how have you been? To which it responded Oh same as yesterday Fern you know how it is.

Blazelight stepped out of the den, stretching as his ginger fur captured the sunlight. The warmth wasn't uncomfortable as he was a pyrotechnic. He was quite liked among the Clan and he knew well that Bluevine and Shadowlily had somewhat of a crush on him. His eyes gleamed as he went to the fresh kill pile and saw Bluevine. Hey, he said. What's up Bluevine, he said to the medicine cat.

Bluevine had slowly made her way to the fresh kill pile while everyone was still asleep so as to not wake anyone and to hopefully, not encounter Blazelight. Blazelight was the most amazing, fun cat that she had ever known and he made her feel like she was special but of course she couldn't tell him that because who would actually want to be her mate? So she sat there, eating a vole as she heard Blazelight's voice call to her which of course caused her fur to stand on end as she blushed furiously and kept her gaze on the ground and said "O-oh not much Blazelight, how about y-you?"

Just because I'm deputy doesn't mean that we can't be friends or talk with each other, he said sympathetically. Now, the fresh kill seems to be running low, you want to go hunt, he asked?

Bluevine took a few deep breaths, telling her in her mind to calm down, he's just a friend and that there's no way he could like you like that and eventually, her blush went away and she said "Yes, alright." From how he said it, she assumed that he meant could she go hunt for some more food? which she was fine with, it would giver her a moment to clear her mind so she made her way over one of the stairways winding down one of the many trees.

Great, he said. Blazelight went down the stairs of the great birch that held the dens and fresh kill pile. He knew that she liked him. The power of fire allowed him to feel the warmth that anyone emitted. He felt her embarrassment when she talked to him. In a way, he felt that he liked her too. He also felt that way about Shadowlily but he had no clue which one he would ask to be his mate. Bluevine was a great medicine cat and Shadowlily was a great Hunter. He just needed to make sure that whatever happened, he stayed friends with them both. He walked up to Bluevine, a rabbit in his jaws. He dropped the rabbit. Hey, I know how you feel, he said sympathetically.

Shadowlily let out a growl as Firekit struggled to get out of Shadowlily's mouth. "Shadowlily!" Firekit complained "I can walk you know!" She meowed while trying to get out of her grasp. Shadowlily sighed and put the fiesty kit down. She knew that they were in someone elses territory but she honestly didn't care. She really just needed shelter and food for her and Firekit. Shadowlily wasn't her original name but after she had found Firekit and realized Firekit was only used to clan names, she let Firekit pick her new name. Shadowlily kept alert, knowing that someone would probably catch them soon. She was mostly worried about Firekit.

"Were doing-" Firekit decided she would say something but Shadowlily gave her a threatening look. Firekit sighed and hid behind Shadowlily's front paw. Shadowlily sighed and glared at the tom. "Im doing what I want." She meowed emotionlessly.

Bluevine followed Blazelight down onto the ground still a bit confused but her confusion quickly turned into embarrassment when he said he knows how she feels. Her face turned red and her eyes widened, her jaw dropping. She moved her mouth, trying to respond when the kit and possibly his mother appeared. Blazelight growled at them but Bluevine quickly moved past him towards the other two cats saying "Oh my gosh are you two okay? What are you doing here? Are either of you hurt? Oh I should probably get Fernstar."
