Midnightpaw padded out of the apprentice's den, giving her back legs a quick stretch. She had just woken up after being told to rest by her mother. Her shoulder was healing fine from the fox attack. She was just glad that fox is dead. It had injured many.

The young molly was just about ready to go visit her mother in the nursery. She began to pad into towards the den, but she could see that Citrusflower was still asleep. 'Let's not wake her up', she thought. Midnightpaw went right back over to her den, but sat down outside it.

Maggotmouth is transfixed by the scene that unfolds between Icestar, Falconpaw, and Hailstorm. His pale eyes are drawn in particular to Falconpaw, analyzing every bit of him as if he were a piece of prey being checked for rot. Maybe a maggot will wriggle its way into the little falcon’s heart, he internally mused, tailtip twitching as it always did when he couldn’t withhold his amusement. What fun that one would be. What trouble he causes!

As Icestar dismisses the meeting, Maggotmouth reluctantly turned his attention back to his sister, their eyes meeting briefly. At her frown, he opened his mouth in order to comfort her - Grizzlypaw was perhaps the only thing that inspired the desire to help in him. At her announcement, however, he is rendered speechless for a moment.

Oh, Starclan above, why would you inflict me upon her? I can barely motivate myself to do anything. This is the one cat I don’t want to mess up.

Despite his mixed feelings - very apparent on his shocked face - Maggotmouth finally pulled himself together to force a purr and look just as excited. “That’s- amazing! It’s amazing. Shadowclan better watch out. You’re going to be the best warrior they’ve ever had.”

Icestar, you sly fox. Just this once, I’ll put effort into something.

Smiling at soots response she just chuckled . cute however her ears perked up at the patrol leaders words. "ready as I'll ever be " she answered before catching a glance of sootmasks tail as the molly head out. Humming again she followed suit .

the molly took a yawn, her big ears turning to listen after her name was called, as a patrol leader? alright. the silver tabby stretched and began to walk up to icestar listening to her patrol members, it would be a nice hunt.

Darkeningpaw sauntered over to Rockthistle, ears twitching in annoyance. "My mentor is probably not going to show up." He meowed, green eyes glancing around the clearing for any sign of the orange-furred warrior. "Hopefully you're a better warrior and can maybe teach me some semblance of something."

"Ah, how...thoughtful of you," Icestar spoke cooly to Bearpaw, depicting no emotion as she dragged the dead bird closer to her. At his next words, she perked her ears, ready to listen. Her suspicions of his abandonment rose, and she expected to hear that he was leaving. Figures, she thought to herself. All these otters are so attached to their damn river.

They were then interrupted by the three warriors pressing their way into the den behind Bearpaw. It was suddenly very crowded in here. She assumed that these cats were here to discuss the expansion.
"Dawnstripe, Beastspark, if this is about the expansion patrols, the two of you are always high on my priority list," she confided. "Worry not, as I was always going to select you. You can expect to hear from me about it very soon. And as for you,"

She turned her piercing gaze to Foxleaf. She knew this one was always trying to prove himself, after his failed patrol and his loss of his apprentice. "I will take you into consideration. It would certainly be a good way to prove yourself useful to myself and your clan as a whole. Are there any concerns you three have that I did not address? Speak now, as I have matters to discuss with Bearpaw here." There was a hint of passive-aggression in her tone regarding the former RiverClan cat. He was clearly not her priority right now.
