Cloudsky climbed up into a branch that fanned out across the clearing. Sitting down and finding her balance. Claws dug deeply into the wood so she wouldn’t fall.

He hopped up on the branch closet to his brother, wrapping his tail neatly around his paws. His amber gaze flickered around the branches. "Sootkit is ready, I suppose?" The pale gray, cream, and black marked tom caught his brother's amber gaze.

The brownish-gray she-kit scrambled up on the branch next to Ashpaw and Heatherpaw. Her dull gold eyes were lit up with excitement. I'm becoming an apprentice! She thought, bouncing on her gold-speckled paws.

The hefty brown tom leaped up on the senior warriors' branches, purring as the sun hit his fur.

Wolfkit sat in the nursery, since xe was too young to come to the meeting. Xe wished they could since Fernstar was super cool and xe really liked them, but xe had to stay in the nursery until xe was 1 moon older.

Heatherpaw looked up at the leader from the med den as a meeting was called. She shook her fur and padded over to the Meeting Birch. She picked a branch close to the leader and sat down, leaving some space for her mentor.

The tom nodded to his brother, Yes. Sootkit is becoming an apprentice today. he said, his annoyed mood lifting slightly as he interacted with his brother.

He nodded to his deputy as he came to sit on a branch close to him.

Alright, listen up! We have an apprentice ceremony today. he said to the cats on the lower branches. Sootkit, stand up! You're old enough for your apprentice ceremony. he said, looking to the kit. He dug his claws into the branch annoyedly. Ugh. I have to do a ceremony when I want to be sleeping. Yay. he thought. He had been deprived of sleep lately, and needed the rest. I'll speak with the medicine cats after the meeting. he promised himself.

Sootkit was becomming an apprentice? Good for him! Wolfkit thought. Xe wished, yet again, that xe was older. Then maybe xe would have been able to become an aprpentice, or actually be on the tree with the rest of xem's clan.

More appentices! That was great. Heatherpaw looked down at Sootkit and then her eyes traveled to Fernstar. Her face filled with a bit of worry. Fernstar looked tired. She wouldn't tell her mentor since she already probably noticed too. Heatherpaw would check on Fernstar at the end of the meeting.
