Theo dug in her backpack for something, and pulled out white headphones and a Walkman cassette player. She put the headphones on, turned on the player, and speed-walked away. The song could be heard through the headphones: Thunderbird.

She moved her mouth to the lyrics as she went to her next class.

Theo felt nauseous. She slowed her walking speed, slightly hunched, eyes scrunched shut. She could feel it in her throat now, tasteless and burning...

Oh no.

She clapped a hand to her mouth, and raced to the nearest bathroom. Theo bent over the sink, retching - and watched a familiar dark shadow drift into the clean white bowl. It rose, shifting into a man. He wasn't alive, and he wasn't truly there - only his torso was visible, and he was slightly see-through. A thin ghostly tail kept the spirit tied forever to Theo - well, specifically Theo's throat. It disappeared into her mouth.

He had blazing red hair, just like Theo, and green eyes. His arms were crossed over a neat black suit as he glared disapprovingly at her. She started to speak. "I-" He raised a hand to silence her.

"I can't believe you. Commanding an Etherial Flame is flippin' baby magic!" His hair turned into fire.

Theo's eyes widened. "I-I'm sorry! I was-"

"DON'T GIVE ME EXCUSES!" he shouted, eyes glowing.

"P-please stop yelling..."

"I'll stop yelling once you decide to stop screwing things up! Now, you'd better ace your next class, otherwise..." he rubbed his forehead in aggitation.

Theo looked down. "Yes, sir."

The man, Galdur Jett, disappeared. Theo put a hand to her mouth, stifling her tears. She hung her head low, slinking out of the bathroom and to her next class.

(I really missed you while you were gone first of all. How you type "tell meh" is so much different than anyone else. But my idea is maybe Nora contains magic not discovered? Like a combination of two powers along with her fire abilities? But to keep it fair, it would be very weak.)

Nora didn't know what to do. She tried to befriend that strange dark magic girl, and it failed horribly. And that made her very upset. It's like what everyone tells me. "You'll never get friends here, you freak of nature! You burn them to a crisp!" She shook her head, flinging tears in the air.

No. She was not going to let their words sting her. She just didn't know how to control her powers. And she still doesn't know how to. Her head went up when that same girl sat next to her, reading a book. Now that she was closer...

She is kind of pretty... This girl was very pretty. The hair... The unsettling eyes... The love for that book? It made a pretty good combination...

Nora gasped and shook her head, trying to get the redness off of her face. What was she thinking? Lying her head down with a sigh, she made a small flame appear in the palm of her hand and started making things with it.

She paced the desks, handing every other student an egg. Once Theo got hers, she looked to her side and saw... Oh. She raised her hand and grumbled, "Can I get a different partner?"

The teacher slapped her hand down. "No! Class dismissed!"

Nora gave a sigh of relief when the girl didn't notice her and her blushing face. She listened to the lesson. Boring, boring, boring... Oh, ok.

Transfiguration on an egg? Sounds easy enough. Partner up with the person next to you? She looked right. No one was there. She looked left. That girl. And that girl asked if she could get a different partner. Nora's heart broke. Was she really that bad? She heard snickering from other students and pulled the hood of her sweatshirt over her head, and started burning her sweatshirt, so she had to put down the hood. "I can switch with someone else, it's ok..." She flinched at the slap. She was soon out the door.
