He can see it in her eyes, the looks of somecat who is plotting something

"Ahem," he says getting up and shaking off the snow and mud from his coat

"We better get the freshkill before it turns to ice as well," he purrs out, his wiskers twitching in amusement

"I usually hunt on my own but if you ever want to lose again, you can always come to me again," he meows out confidently

"That confident, huh? Well, I'm looking forward to the expression on your face when I beat you next time," Doeflame said. She started walking, mentally finding the spots where she had buried her prey. @Lewolfers

He follows her along, "I hope you do, the more the both of us get, the more for the clan during leaf bare, buut I doubt you will win," he purrs out

"Especially with the growing tensions on the border, our clan needs more food to get stronger, and every prey we catch helps with that," he meows out, the look in his eyes showing how determined he is to make his clan stronger

"I'll win," Doeflame assured him. Her ears flicked dismissively at Nightwolf's next statement. "There's always tension at the border. It doesn't mean we have to hunt until our paws fall off." She turned her attention away from Nightwolf; her two frogs were near. Soon, Doeflame was digging them up. She grimaced as she picked them up; cold prey was unappetising. @Lewolfers

"Of course not, we must hunt and train until our paws fall off," he says as he watches her pick up the frozen frog

"Some one is bound to enjoy frozen frogs," he tells her reassuringly when he sees the way she reacted to it

"Someone like you?" Doeflame mewed, arching an eyebrow. Who would enjoy frozen frogs? She supposed they would thaw, but they still had nothing on freshly-caught prey. @Lewolfers

"If I spent the day guarding the border and came home starving, and all you had to offer me was a frozen frog, then yes, by starclan I will be thankful that you worked hard so I could go another day without knowing hunger," he meows out gently, his expression showing that he meant every word

Doeflame shifted, recognising his formal tone. "Hmm," she muttered, bending down to pick up the frogs. They hadn't gotten any warmer. Jaws full of prey, she set off again. I should be able to fit another mouse in, she thought. @Lewolfers

He looks at the setting sun and sniffs the air, "Its starting to get pretty cold out," he says as a cold wind blows by gently, "Lets get the last of your freshkill and get it back to camp, I can collect mine later," he offers, his thick fur makes the cold easier to resist but he wasnt sure how she was feeling in the cold

"You sure?" Doeflame mewed, but didn't wait for his answer. Nightwolf had most likely already made up his mind. She started walking towards the spot she had buried her prey. Soon she found it and dug it up.

That was all her prey; she could now go back to camp and into the warmth of her den. But still she cast a glance at Nightwolf. "Want me to help you get your prey? It'll be quicker if there's two of us." @Lewolfers
