Sundar trotted out of camp, at the front of the hunting party. Birchflower and Blacktail followed closely behind the female warrior,
their eyes wary. "Don't worry," Birchflower assured the two, though her own pelt was prickling with nerves as well. "We've never seen the murderer attack in groups before. We're safe as long as we stick together."

But Blacktail wasn't nervous. He was excited- ecstatic even. This was the first time he'd been allowed out of camp for at least a quarter moon, maybe more. His days had been devoid of action, rather than filled with it. Unless something happened to him directly, the tom didn't count it.

So this hunting party continued into the woods, unaware of the cat that shadowed them. "Ironic," the murderer whispered. "A hunting party, that is. It seems I'm the only one hunting."

As a small cackle erupted from the killer's jaws, Birchflower tensed. It seemed as if she was the only cat in the hunting party that heard it.
"Guys, I think I heard some.. uh... prey, over there. Can I go check it out?"

"No, I will," Blacktail chuckled,
sensing her unease. "Be right back!"

Trotting toward the direction that Birchflower pointed, the tom dropped into a hunting crouch, now concealed by foliage. The rustling of the small animal seemed to shake the ground below him. Licking his lips, Blacktail wiggled his haunches.

Now!

The warrior leaped for the bushes, jaws wide...

Only to have seven glistening red deathberries shoved into his mouth.
"No," he choked, coughing them up-
only to have more shoved in. The cat was in full view this time, sinister maw and all. "Why?" Blacktail croaked,
beginning to vomit and writhe on the ground.

The murderer put both paws over his nose and mouth, slowing his breath,
making the pain worse. "Oh, please stop asking that question," it laughed. "It really does get tiring, you know?"

But the tom was already dead.

Blueface slowly stood up, stretching from her sleep. It had been uneasy, but she still felt oddly refreshed. The molly gazed around camp, keeping her cool around what might be the killer, but roaring inside in anger. Oh how she hated what was happening to her Clan! Blueface wrinkled her nose, and exited the camp. Scents flooded her nostrils. Plants, trees, but most of all, the scent of death. Shaken, the molly instantly sprinted after the scent. When Blueface arrived at the scene, her claws began to dig into the ground. "No.." She collapsed to her stomach. "Blacktail..?" She stared at the tom. Clearly he had eaten deathberries. Or he had been.. forced to. His throat still had round berries inside, not crushed. Blueface began to tremble. A pool of vomit was near by, and dirt and grass was thrown up from his struggle. How could anyone be so cruel?

Sundar heard a scream and panicked. She ran over to where it had come from only to see Blacktail on the ground surrounded by vomit,blood,and white foam. Sundar did not yet know about the dangers of deathberries. "Blacktail? Blacktail wake up!" she shook him before putting her ear to his chest. Nothing. "Help! Blacktail isnt breathing!" Sundar looked at to blueface. "Do you know what you can do? Is he ok?".
