Shardpaw growled and leaped, aiming for Ripplepaw's back again. This time, however, he misjudged the distance and flew right over her. He screeched in surprise and crashed into the cave wall. Shardpaw grunted as he landed and got up, his paws shaking. He shook his head and blinked a few times before turning back to Ripplepaw.

Ripplepaw, realizing he was slightly stunned, took her chance, rushing at him to end the battle. The she-cat leaped at his head, once again changing direction to his shoulders, homing to knock him down and pin the tom.

Shardpaw grunted as Ripplepaw brought him down, ending the battle. He had to admit that her skills were impressive.

Reedpelt stood and made his way over to them. "Well done, Ripplepaw." he smiled once more at the young she-cat and lightly nudged her off of Shardpaw. "You did very well. Now it's time for both apprentices. However, we'll be taking a short break. I'm sure Shardpaw would appreciate it." he glanced over at Shardpaw, who nodded.

Ripplepaw nodded dutifully, coming to sit down by Reedpelt and the other apprentices.

Shardpaw panted heavily and gingerly pawed his temples. He shook his head a little and lay down, proceeding to groom his pelt.

Whisperpaw sat down. She looked at Ripplepaw. "How do you feel that you're about to become a warrior?"

Reedpelt left the cave and came back a few moments later with some prey. He lay down a vole, a mouse, and a sparrow in front of the apprentices. "Eat before the next test." he ordered and lay down next to Shardpaw.

Shardpaw groaned and got up, swaying on his paws. "I think I need to go see Juniperpaw..." he padded out of the cave, his paws barely holding him up.

Reedpelt looked at the young tom with concern. "Okay, no big deal. You'll be fighting me and Whisperpaw then. Don't worry, I'll go easy on you."

"Good." he smiled. Instantly, he sprung forward, his speed surprising Whisperpaw. The young apprentice darted forward after him. Reedpelt's goal was to tackle Ripplepaw first, to get her disoriented. Whisperpaw was just there to distract her.
