At the moment, she was looking for another challenge, another tom to string along. Blazingstar was taking too long to fall for her games, and she was rather eager to come out at the end as victor. She needed an easier target, someone who was under a lot of stress, someone who needed a shoulder to lean on. And then, her gaze fell on the handsome, dark-pelted tomcat, who sat alone in the clearing. He seemed to be avoiding eye contact, so surely he must be slightly timid? Not as confident as Fawnskip, at least? She couldn't hold back the purr that rumbled in her throat, the purr of someone who saw the finish line just mouse-lengths ahead of them.

Finally, she would win. Fawnskip glanced over her shoulder briefly, reassuring herself that not a tuft of fur was out of place. Her pelt of blended colors seemed to gleam white under the sunlight. See, Fawnskip was a gorgeous feline, very attractive - physically, at least. She took great pride in her unique pelt, her beauty the reason she was the way she was. She wanted to know how many toms she could get, just by being pretty and flirty. So far, she was very proud of the number of how many tomcats had stupidly fallen into her traps. She was looking forward to adding the tom ahead of her to her list.

Fawnskip stood tall, and as always, her posture impressive. Her tail dangled behind her, curving upward before the end of her tail could brush the ground. Her golden eyes seemed to dance playfully, playfully innocent. And then, in what she knew to be a slow yet confidently attractive stride, Fawnskip made her way over to the tom. She spoke to him a couple tail-lengths before actually reaching him, meowing smoothly, ``Hey there, stranger.`` Her smile was warm and friendly, though her eyes gleamed playfully. In all honesty, Fawnskip could not care less if the tom had a mate, or even a family. She'd be proud if she could guide a `dedicated` mate and father away from his family. If he chose Fawnskip over the family he claimed he loved, then surely he didn't deserve said family? ``You look a little down... I could change that for you?`` She had reached him, standing a tail-length before him. She flashed him a playful wink, laughing softly at herself.
In the past, and in all honesty, she cats who were considered universaly attractive - or at least attractive around the Clan - were not attracted to Obsidiansky. Was he handsome? Well, he wasn't ugly, but he wasn't a knockout. And that wasn't even to mention that he was uncertain of how many she cats he had probably accidentally friendzoned. So when Fawnskip approached, the tom's optics seemed to hold a little alarm. What did she want? "Uh - hello," He mewed, giving her a friendly smile back. She looked nice! And that wasn't even to mention that she was just about the closest thing to drop-dead gorgeous that Obsidiansky had seen. It was hard not to stare. Now, what was she doing talking to him? One thing that the tom knew for sure, was that cats like this rarely had a good motive. If she was coming over in such a friendly way to him, this wasn't going to be good. Oh, but you could really use this... He thought as he watched her.

Something that was just light and unintimate. This would be so much better then the serious, dread-filled conversations he had had with his two other interests! Or... were they interests of his? He felt pretty much the same for them. They were both friends. He couldn't hurt either. And he loved them both. Not to mention he didn't know what to do in either case. "Ha. Wouldn't that just be a miracle." The dark tom muttered to himself. He wasn't like this most of the time but for whatever reason, right now, he just couldn't seem to bring himself to be as friendly and kind as he wanted. "I mean, I - guess you could, it might be nice, but I don't - I don't know for sure, I mean, it's your... call?" Oh StarClan, Obsidiansky was bad at this. Like it'd been said - not much experience in the flirting area, and not many pretty she cats coming up to him as Fawnskip had done.

If anything, he was the one approaching she cats. Why did she have to be pretty? Why couldn't she look easy to approach? Yeah, Obsidiansky was just a little bit intimidated by her. He could be wrong. But if she tried to break his heart, well - he would - maybe - well, he just wouldn't let her get that close, that was all! Getting a crush through someone being sweet towards him and acting all flirty was one thing. Falling in love with the idea of another cat was another. But true love, the experience of being willing to do whatever it took for the other cat to be happy, even so far as to let them go with another cat if it was what made them happy, wanting what was best for them - that was a whole other thing. And Obsidiansky knew that that type of true love was formed over time, very carefully, and it was a beautiful thing. It was the kind of love you couldn't get through flirting. So, the tom was pretty sure that he was safe.

His voice was low and frustrated, and for once his eyes had completely lost their friendly shine. Right now he was so angry he probably could have hurt someone. Except the black feline wouldn't do that, he would never want to hurt someone. It would be a damaging thing for his own mind, as well as the other cat's.

"You can't accuse me of playing a game, Sagewhisker. I'm not someone who plays mind tricks for the fun of it, is that who you think I am? You think I would do that to you?" Part of him was angry at himself, too, for letting Sagewhisker believe this about him. Except he couldn't help what she thought. He couldn't help that she was choosing this, choosing to believe this of him and believe that he would do something like this. Why? Honestly, Obsidiansky wasn't sure. Anyone who would believe that had to be crazy, but, at the same time, maybe there was some sort of sense to her words. If she believed this - maybe he had been doing something unwillingly.

Still, this wasn't funny. Or a game. Obsidiansky needed to knock this nonsense out of her mind. "If you believe that, you might as well forget that I'm your friend now. Friends wouldn't do that. So if you want to accuse me of it, go right ahead, but I can know that I would never - ever - do something like that and it's very low of you to think I would." His voice was a low growl, and his expression flashed angrily. She needed to stop this right now. The black tom didn't want to play these sorts of games with her, and it was frustrating that she thought he would ever want to do something like that. Extremely frustrating.
Sagewhisker would have apologized long before but.. she just could not.Tears welled at her eyes. She did not want to loose him. Never- not ever- would that happen. Not on he account. Sagewhisker would just have to face it, this was a fight that the she-cat could not win. She wanted her friend back. Her best friend. That was she had ever wanted. The only thing she would ever need. Just Sagewhisker and Obsidiansky, against the world. That was the way she wanted it to be. That was the way she had always wanted it to be. But… obviously Obsidiansky did not feel the same.

“I’m sorry!” Sagewhisker blurted out. “I-I didn’t mean it! I just… I can’t take it anymore. I-I know it was wrong and cruel but I wanted to hurt you. I wanted you to know how it felt when you broke my heart. And I just… I don’t know why I would ever do that. I know it’s not what friends do to each other. They don’t stab each other in the back but.. That’s what I felt like you did to me when I expressed my feelings.” She meowed. Sagewhisker studied his face, intent on finding at least a tad bit of kindness still left in his gaze. But there was none. This wasn’t I silly fantasy were everything was happy and everyone for gave everyone else. This was the real world. And the real world was cruel, heartless even.

Sagewhisker truly hoped he would forgive her. She could not loose him, for he was her best friend and nothing and no one would ever replace him. Sagewhisker especially could not loose him to another she-cat that would break her heart into a million pieces and maybe then.. She would actually loose her mind. The ginger tufted molly wanted- needed him to forgive her. If not, she would simply loose herself. Sagewhisker had already lost part of herself amongst all the chaos in her past, and the other part of her was hanging on by a very thin thread.

Hunterfang was silent as he laid near the tree beside the camp entrance. It was the tree he'd stretched out under since he was a kit, since he came to WindClan. For some odd reason, it made him feel safe. Another thing that made him feel safe? Ratheart wasn't here right now. His father was either in the nursery with his younger siblings and Lemonspotted, or just out in the territory. Either way, he wasn't there, so Hunterfang was grateful. He'd thought having his father back would be great. Ratheart ran off so much, Hunterfang thought maybe having him stick around for a while would give him a chance to know him. Well, it turns out... No. Hunterfang knew him a little more now, and he came to realize maybe he hadn't really known Ratheart before at all.

The Tom's mouth tugged down at the corners, shifting back slightly if any cat came a little too close for comfort. He'd kept his distance around almost everyone now. His friends, his family, even his former-mentor. So far he'd been doing good. Mostly because he was afraid of getting hurt- Mostly getting hurt emotionally. He didn't want to feel safe with them only for them to disappear again. He wasn't going to get attached if they were just gonna leave. Hunterfang wished Ratheart would do that - Leave. Just leave already. He was waiting for Lemonspotted to take off again. Waiting for Ratheart to chase after her. Maybe his step mother would get lost. That should keep Ratheart away for a while?

Hunterfang realized for the first time, with a prickle of amusement, that Ratheart's name definitely suited him. He was a rat. Though Hunterfang wasn't sure he even had a heart. The Tom sighed, shaking the thoughts away and looking around the clearing again. Again, he'd jerk back if any cat came too close, scoot himself back and turn his head away, praying to StarClan nobody would stop to talk to him. Then again, also hoping someone would because honestly, he was bored. But at the same time, the Tom just didn't want to be around anybody. Not at the moment. So he just sat there and glanced around, his expression blank.

She laughed. She purred back, her eyes glowing with amusement. "Good, that sounds nice." She laughed, smiling. Caracalspirit, while she liked all the attention, was determined to give some of it back. Hence why she was also being so romantic..ish. Caracalspirit enjoyed the familiar feeling of her mate besides her, wondering how she was just his friend for those seemingly long, boring moons. It was much better this way, she thought. Hawkspirit was a good cat, he was brave and friendly, and an added bonus was that he was handsome, but that didn't really matter. She laughed along with him, unable to help it, she just thouroughly enjoyed his laugh. "Yeah, that's true" she managed without laughing, as her fit of giggles died. Caracalspirit returned his smile, filled with bubbly joy. If they were the sappiest young couple in the Clans, she wouldn't be surprised. She was a mix of embarrassment, for being watched, joy, for being with Hawkfeather, and excitement, for other reasons. She kept a tiny smile on her face still, as he rested his chin on her head and she giggled. She purred as he licked her forehead, glad for his affections. It would be a normal thing now, since they were mates. "Fun" she giggled, teasing back. She liked that they could tease each other, it added a bit of humor to all of this. She wanted to do something a bit..exciting, like a hunting patrol or something. But just with the two of them. "I think you literally just read my mind." She gasped, a bit overly-dramatic, and then snickered. "And yes, i'd love that."
Hawkfeather couldn’t help but continue to smile down at his beautiful mate, purring when she touched her nose to his own. “I try my best, darling.” He remarked with a twitch of his whiskers, “After all, you do deserve the best that I have to offer.” The tom-cat simply returned the smirk back to her as they playfully teased one another like it was just another usual morning together, which it was, in the end. The young-spirited warrior loved to make her laugh and adored to see Carcalspirit smile, which made his day ten times better by far. “I’m glad you think so.” Hawkfeather replied, tapping her gently with the tip of his tail in a joking manner. Life was much more brighter and full of warm, bubbly feelings now that the ice had melted between them and he could express his affection freely without worrying about such things. He still remembered the morning that he nervously went to Owlsparks and Firesparks, asking them about confessing to his dear Carcalspirit. A soft smile rested on his face, remembering his best friend’s mate recalling how they were obviously meant to be and the whole clan could see that. That same day, he had confessed to her and ever since, they had been known as mates - probably the most sappiest as well, but once again, it didn’t matter in the slightest to them. He gave a small huff of amusement at his mate’s teasing and light fit of giggles, which were simply the most adorable thing he had ever heard. Hawkfeather watched with amusement sparkling in his amber-hued gaze as she gave a overly dramatic response to his offer of a hunting patrol. The warrior proceeded to rest a paw on his chest and give his own dramatic expression. “I must be a mind-reader..” He simply gasped, looking at the she-cat with widened eyes, “Starclan must be calling to me..” With that, the tan-furred male collapsed, dramatically raising a paw into the air. “Oh, wondrous ancestors, hast thou placed a magically power upon thy warrior such as myself?” Hawkfeather mewed, keeping back his own fit of laughter as he laid there.

( @starfall Sleepingcloud can joking in whenever you are online :3)

Asphodelspark trotted into the clearing, his long legs that were too big for him for so long carrying him with ease. The ginger tom had been running at a light pace though he was almost completely unaffected. His gait had been easy to maintain with his long legs and the warrior only had a slight pant that was mostly caused by a large rabbit restricting his breathing. Asphodelspark was rather proud of his catch since it had put up quite the fight. Well, not fight exactly, but it had heard him stalking up to it and had bolted, forcing him to chase it. It was at times like those when Asphodelspark thanked Starclan for the long legs he'd cursed for so long. He had been an awkward kit and apprentice, with legs too long for his body, but he'd grown into them and they were now is most valuable asset. Without them, he'd never have caught that rabbit.

Maybe I could bring it to Fawnsnow, the ginger tabby thought, searching the clearing with his golden eyes for the fluffy she-cat. Mousebrain! He cursed at himself, She doesn't need you to bring her prey! Asphodelspark had started thinking about the pretty warrior more often. She was his friend, so he thought about her occasionally. But recently he had started thinking about how soft her fur was when it brushed his and how pretty she looked when the sun cast a kind of aura on her white fur...How lovely she smelled...The tom shook his head to rid himself of the invasive thoughts. Sighing, Asphodelspark made his way to the fresh kill pile and dropped his catch on the top. Choosing a smaller finch for himself, the warrior surveyed the clearing for a place to eat and maybe catch a quick nap or at least groom. His golden gaze landed on Hunterfang and the tabby started walking towards his friend.

Asphodelspark dropped his finch beside Hunterfang and plopped down behind it, spitting out grey fur left over from his catch as a few brownish feathers that had gotten caught in his teeth from the finch. Hunterfang had been alone, but the two toms had been best friends since they were apprentices so Asphodelspark felt no remorse for impeding on the other cat's alone time. Now all the needed was Sleepingcloud and the trio would be back together, which was rare for warriors since there were so many duties to be carried out. "How's it, Hunt?" Asphodel greeted cheerfully with a mouth full of feathers and finch meat. His tail flicked across the ground in snake lime patterns and his eyes wandered lazily around the clearing, searching for a hunt of fluffy white fur.

Ferretpaw looked at his dear friend for a moment in silence, his amber-hued gaze fixing onto the silvery cat beside him. “Well, from what I’ve gathered, going through their land would be the quickest way into unknown lands such as the Twolegplace and such..” He trailed off, his paw resting on his chin for a moment as he grew pensive, “However, we could take a safer, yet more treacherous path along the Riverclan land where the clans travel to head to the Ocean, where the Seastones are located. If we take that route, our scent will come off as less suspicious, but it would be a longer journey to get to our destination alone..” The apprentice’s whiskers twitched for a moment in the darkness as he looked out to the forest. “I know you aren’t. You are just being cautious, which is wise. I suppose we should take the Ocean path. How does that sound?”

Hunterfang's first reaction to somebody walking over to him was to jerk back and hope that they walked away. A soft growl escaped his lips, flinching away as a finch came to rest, plopping down beside his paws. He started to hiss, but his gaze shot up to meet Asphodelspark's. Honestly, having been expecting Ratheart, he was relieved; His expression showed this. "Asph!" Still, as relieved as he was, he was peeved that his friend had startled him. He shot him a glare through narrowed brown eyes, but the glare seemed to soften slightly despite his efforts to be mad, and he scooted over to allow Asphodelspark to lay beside him.

"Well, my Dad's not around right now. So, it's pretty good." Hunterfang said in that same dry tone he'd had for a pretty long time at this point. But his voice seemed a bit warmer than when he spoke to other cats. "And how's things with you?" He shot Asphodelspark a doubtful glance before turning his head down to look at the finch. He rolled his eyes slightly - Such disgusting prey, rabbits were better - But brought his eyes back to Asphodelspark's face with a slight smile despite himself. Asphodel was one of the few cats Hunterfang could really stand to be around. He wasn't sure why, he just.. Was. Well, it was whatever, Hunterfang guessed.

Asphodelspark wasn't surprised by Hunterfang's jerking away, and it didn't faze him. Nor did his friend's growl as he dropped the finch beside him. Asphodelspark dropped next, ignoring Hunterfang's hiss and giving him an amused look with the same warmth in his eyes that he always had. Hunterfang stopped hissing, which let Asphodelspark know that his friend had finally recognized him. The tom called his nickname and Asphodelspark chuckled, "In the flesh," before bending to bite into his finch. The warrior could feel Hunterfang's glare on him, but it only made him laugh until he started to choke on feathers. Coughing a bit, he managed to clear his airway and swallow, but when his golden gaze met Hunterfang's softening brown one, it brought on another bout of laughing. Finally, Asphodelspark calmed down and resumed eating the finch.

The ginger tabby nodded at Hunterfang's response to his greeting, knowing that the absence of his father must have been a relief to his friend. His voice was dry but warm, the usual tone of friendship between them. "Pretty good...pretty good." Asphodel swallowed and moved his distracted eyes to the form of his friend, "No complaints." Asphodel didn't miss Hunterfang's eyes traveling in disgust to his finch, but he didn't acknowledge it. He wanted to talk to the one of his two best friends who was with him, talk about Fawnsnow and why he couldn't stop thinking about her. Asphodelspark focused his eyes on Hunterfang, and was about to speak when he started thinking. Asphodel knew his friend, and he knew that the tom liked flirting but not actual relationships. Asphodelspark wasn't sure that Hunterfang was the best cat to ask for advice. So, the tom just smiled at his friend and resumed eating. He'd be willing to talk about it, but he figured that he wouldn't bring it up. Maybe Hunterfang would ask, and then Asphodelspark would divulge, but for now he'd just eat.
