"Yes please" Dogkit whispered back to Otterstone. He had decided he would tell Cloudkit later. If the medicine cat told her to leave then he hoped that his new friend didn't go tell Foxpaw.

He wasn't sure why she didn't seem to be taking the hint that the visit was over now that she'd been healed. "This may surprise you," Fawnsqueak began, an eyebrow raised, "but we don't.. give them out for thorns in pads. If you want something to help it heal, you could probably ask Lionstorm to kiss your booboo."

Skyripple lashed her tail. "No." she said angrily. She stormed out of the den.

Burying his face in his paws, he groaned again. His whole back hurt like crazy and his head even more. He didn't even open his eyes as Fawnsqueak and Otterstone talked. It hurt too bad. Owlflight just wanted the pain gone and hearing the sound 'poppy seeds' made him hopeful. "Poppy seeds?". He spoke in the littlest amount of words as he could as when he spoke, his head throbbed even more.

Fawnsqueak watched in mild amusement, swallowing the laugh that rose from his chest. For a cat who'd put on a show of massive pain, she certainly could storm out of a den with the best of them. But as he checked in the herb storage, he was once again reminded of a looming duty -- maybe he'd ask Sootflare to send out a specific patrol for them, just until they were back on top of everything. Fawnsqueak trotted out of the den but didn't plan on lingering in camp, heading toward the territory.

Cloudkit looked at the two cats talking with curiosity. She sat lashing her tail and kicked at the ground. She wasn't mad just curious and bored.

Otterstone nodded at the big white tom’s small voice. Her heart almost hurt, seeing how much pain Owlflight was in and not knowing how to help him. “Alright” her voice was soft, almost motherly. She scooped the very last of their poppy seeds into her paw and held them close to Owlflight’s mouth for him to lick up. After he did so, she got him a crusty piece of moss and soaked it with water. “Drink, then try to rest. We will be back with the right herbs soon. You should be in here alone, so don’t worry.” And with that she backed off, and with a glance around the almost bare den she followed after Fawnsqueak.

“Alright.” She meowed softly, head still held low by Dogkit. She raised her head and cleared her throat softly. “CloudKit, dear,” she had never said that before. It almost surprised her coming out of her throat.

“Could you go outside the den. Dogkit and I have to talk about something.” She thought a moment, and not wanting CloudKit to scamper away to quickly she added on. “Stick around outside, and come back in when I tell you. If you so, I might be able to get you both a sweet treat and bring it to you in the nursery.”
Her thoughts scrambled for something, landing on the certain reeds filled with sweet nectar.

She and her friends in the nursery had snuck out of camp for the sweet treat, a small pond out the backside of the nursery was surrounded in the sweet reeds. She’d have to check there.

She turned back to Dogkit, leaning back in, her voice calming and low. “Now what happened? You don’t have to be embarrassed.” It had been a pretty nasty wound, especially for a kit.

Dogkit watched Cloudkit leave and turned to Otterstone. He shuffled his paws and was silent for a moment."I-I visited a place called the Darkforest and a cat called Ashwing a-attacked me" he explained to the medicine cat.

The kits words sent a shock of cold through the three legged medicine cat. The dark forest. She hadn’t heard that name spoken in earnest in a long time. Sure, she used it as a curse almost every day, but still.

“Do you know what the Dark Forest is?” She asked, her voice taking a very serious note. “Those are very bad cats.” She meowed. But what did this mean? Was it the anti-medicine cat backstory? Was he connected to the two after lives? What did this mean? “I don’t want you to ever go there again, ok?” She asked.

Dogkit stared at his paws. He was scared of that place but it was so fascinating. He felt like he wanted to go there again and meet Ashwing. He looked back up at Otterstone."Okay" he lied to the medicine cat. A wave of guilt flooded over him but he didn't let it show.
