Scratch was on the move again. He strode through the alleys of the twolegplace with supreme confidence, casting nary a look at the pitiful kittypet strays that watched his passing. He had more important things to deal with, specifically the cargo which so annoyingly weighed down his neck. Dragging Rip was a bit tiresome, but you had to put in a bit of effort to get a lot of reward, or at least he thought so. At least she wasn’t struggling, finding her unconscious in that alley surrounded by easily killed rats was a real stroke of luck.
Still, he wasn’t as young as he used to be, and night was swiftly falling. Scratch needed a good rest before he finished bringing his daughter home, and he seemed to have spotted a nice place, or at least an adequate one. It was already occupied by some kitty-stray, that much was obvious by the catscent which mingled with the rotting scent the dumpster emitted, but that was hardly going to be a problem. Dropping Rip beneath the dumpster he leapt to the lip of it, peering inside.
Whoever you are, be aware that I’ll be sleeping here tonight. he announced, tail swishing as he made his claim to the area. Slipping into the dumpster he retrieved a piece of some sort of bird before exiting again, consuming the morsel and licking his whiskers before seizing Rip by the scruff again. With some difficulty he managed to haul her into the dumpster, settling down himself after ensuring that any attempt to leave would disturb him enough that he would be able to stop her. If whatever stupid kitty-stray was around wanted to try and get him out of their nest, they were welcome to come get a few scars. @
