The slender tom ambled his way into the clearing, returning from his patrol of Shadowclan's borders. Short brown fur remained well-maintained and neat, despite having not been groomed since this morning. Oakmist's long legs carried him in lengthy strides across the busy clearing, the chocolate tom doing his best not to walk into anybody by mistake. Sea green eyes remained alight with curiosity, as his gaze drifted about the clearing. His alert ears picked up on snippets of conversations, his inquisitive nature getting the better of him as he often found himself listening far beyond what was polite. The tall tom-cat set himself down in a less busy section of the clearing, lowering himself down onto his haunches as he observed the happenings of other cats. He raised a paw to his maw, dragging his raspy light pink tongue along the russet fur there, removing any visible dirt from them best he could. He sat in thoughtful loneliness, thinking about a variety of obscure things. Oakmist was a spiritual cat, yes, but he also believed in the science and physical workings of the world around him. His inquisitive nature often got him in to awkward situations, usually via him asking the wrong sort of questions. The chocolate brown tom allowed his maw to part in a rather large yawn, his front legs pushing out in front of him as he lowered himself down into a long and much-needed stretch. He lacked anything particular to do, given he had conducted his usual patrol of the border, so he sat patiently awaiting some sort of task to come his way. (I feel like this is a little all over the place, so if it is my greatest apologies~)

At times like these, when he had nothing to do, Sageglade did nothing. He'd been on a hunting patrol, and with nothing else in particular to occupy his time until the dusk patrol set off, which was unlikely to happen before sundown, and seeing as it was only sunhigh . . . Well, he'd be unoccupied for awhile. So he basked in the light that peaked through the canopy, laying partially stretched out with his hind legs resting sideways and his forepaws tucked under him, blinking pale ochre eyes lazily. His thoughts flitted to and fro like a firefly, wondering first what kept other cats so busy, then to the concerns of the other clans entirely. How was Windclan fairing after the occurrences at the last gathering? Sageglade himself hadn't been present, but he'd heard several recounts of it from various sources. Yet from his perspective, life always seemed to recover, and carry on as if nothing happened. The cream and beige dappled tom himself was having a normal day. Fresh prey in the pile, cats all around him going about their business, a border patrol returning, queens tending their kits, a bored looking tom settling down across the clearing. Sageglade unintentionally met the brown cats gaze while his mind wandered, and tipped his head in greeting as not to be impolite. He recalled his name of course, they weren't far in age and had spent time first as kits, then as apprentices together, and finally now as young warriors. Oakmist, someone he might call a friend.

Oakmist was quickly pulled out of his thoughtful disinterest in the world when his gaze stumbled across the familiar form of Sageglade. He had foggy memories of all their interactions, confident in the fact the two regarded each other as friends. He nodded back at the tom, dipping his head in the same manner Sageglade had, but he didn't join the other tom straight away. He spent a few moments absentmindedly recalling any memories he had of the tom from their kit and apprentice years, still a little worried as to whether or not he would be welcomed by Sageglade. However, from what he could remember, Oakmist found the two of them had got along fairly well - something he found rare in his life, at least right now. So, after a few more precious moments of basking in the sun, the chocolate tom rose to his feet. Taking a moment to stretch out the tension from his muscles, his sea green gaze focused on Sageglade. Lengthy strides carried the young warrior across the clearing and toward the tom, his soft expression hopefully indicating his desire to socialise with the other warrior. His sock markings seemed more prominent in the light which shone down through the gaps in the canopy, his chocolate pelt lighting up in the capricious patterns of light. "Hello, Sageglade," He greeted, a soft purr escaping him as he reached the tom's side. He stood not too close to the tom, hoping not to intrude on his personal space, but close enough the two could interact comfortably. Socialising was not something Oakmist found hard per say, just somewhat unnecessary in most situations. It was odd from him to speak without being spoken to, but it wasn't everyday he got the chance to maintain a friendship with another cat. He stood with a slight awkwardness to his stance, his weight tilted to one side as he fidgeted merely out of habit as he politely waited a response from Sageglade.
