The chase had eventually led them to their destination: the border. Leafbreeze continued to bound after the rogue, making sure to not stop until she was sure they had crossed the scent line. As they reached the edge, the rogue turned around and hissed some harsh words, looking as if it was going to start a fight with the patrol. However, seeing that it was outnumbered, it quickly turned around and dashed off into ThunderClan's territory. Leafbreeze felt satisfied with the mission. Sitting down to catch her breath, she spoke softly to her patrol. "We did it..." She tried to get up afterwards to check up on Mosspaw and Quailsnap, but winced as one of her front paws ached when putting pressure on it. Seeing the confused looks on their faces, she explained "I think I may have injured my paw during the chase..."

Mosspaw squealed in excitement as the rogue crossed over the border. She wiggled and pranced around in a happy dance of sorts until she heard what her mentor had said. She gasped and rushed over to look at her paw. She winced, something similar had happened to her during a game of moss ball, but not that bad. Mosspaw stood up and went to Leafbreeze's side. "Here, you can lean on me!" She smiled up at her mentor, trying to comfort her. "That happened to me once, and I left it alone for a day or two, and its was allllll better! So there's no need to worry!"

Leafbreeze smiled to Mosspaw. "I appreciate the offer, but we've got to finish checking the rest of the border." She would have accepted the apprentices's help had another warrior not been present. With some delay, she padded slowly along the edge, calling the patrol to follow along. Apart from the rogue, everything else seemed to be calm as they carried on.

"Should we also... uh... oh! Should we renew the scent markers?" She scrunched up her nose as she said it, she wasn't sure what it meant, she had only heard it from an earlier patrol. Mosspaw was following behind her mentor, sniffing the border periodically. She looked at Leafbreee, then Quailsnap, waiting for a response.

Leafbreeze replied to Mosspaw "Yeah, that's part of our job." Afterwards, she showed the young apprentice how to mark an area with scent. The patrol continued marking up along the rest of the border, eventually reaching the end. They continued to backtrack to areas they had missed originally. Eventually, the whole ThunderClan border had been checked and re-marked. There had been no signs of the rogue coming back, or anything else out of the ordinary. When it was all said and done, Leafbreeze took a rest near the river, idling sleepily. She spoke to the patrol "We'll head back in a bit, I'm glad we didn't have too much trouble during all this."

Mosspaw nodded enthusiastically, still excited over their victory with the rogue. She then turned to Leafbreeze and yawned, becoming drowsy just looking at her mentor. She padded over and laid down next to Leafbreeze, snuggling into her fur. In seconds, she was asleep.

"Hopefully your paw isn't hurt too bad." Quailsnap meowed to Leafbreeze, giving her a small smile. She'd been the main cat to chase after the rogue, and Quailsnap was glad it hadn't given them any trouble. He wouldn't be able to stand himself if young Mosspaw had been hurt, or even Leafbreeze. Rouges fought nasty, he knew that for sure. And some cats were never prepared for that reality. As the border was finished getting marked, and Mosspaw seemed to doze off, Quailsnap let out a small huff of amusement. "Suppose too much excitement is still too much for her." He knew kits had a habit of getting tired easily, after bursts of energy, and it seemed that carried over into young apprentices as well. "Come on though Mosspaw, you can make it back to camp at least." The tom meowed, nudging the smaller cat gently with a paw.

"He's right, we've got to get back to camp first." at the same time, she hesitated getting up because she really didn't want to disturb Mosspaw. She knew that sitting out here wasn't going to do them any good though, so she eventually did move and started making preparations to head back. "Sorry about that Mosspaw." She smiled sheepishly at the young cat, hoping that she hadn't bothered her too much. Turning to Quailsnap, she silently thanked him for the help, following this up with a request. "Can you lead the way back? I believe you're more fit to do so."

ashcloud finally stopped running once he reached the river, he flopped on the ground with a sigh as he started thinking about what he said.

ashcloud got up and sat down, he stared at his reflection in the river, he sighed, "oh dawnblossom, i'm so sorry...why did I even get that mad...I don't even know flintstar that well...and why did I change my mind so quick...?" he closed his eyes and let out a, now, frustrated sigh. the fur along his neck was finally laying flat. @Jane
