Grizzlybug smiles as a greeting to his apprentice and meowed, “alright, would you prefer to practice defense or offense first?” Grizz wasn’t a huge fan of fighting, but he was fairly good at it. His size gave him an advantage, though a small cat would have the prefect counter actions to fight him.

Eveningpaw flicked her tail,” I’m pretty good at defense due to being smaller than you, I think, then again I don’t know how you fight.” she meowed keeping that in mind as well.

Grizzlybug nodded thoughtfully and squared himself up for an attack. “Ok,” he meowed, “attack me.”

Eveningpaw was surprised, she picked defense, but he chose offense for her. Biting her lip to decide what to do, she sprung up onto Grizzlybug’s back so she could attack him from there.

Grizzlybug saw Eveningpaw aiming for his back and allowed her to land there, immediately flopping onto his side and rolling to dislodge her. He hasn’t known which side she’d wanted to try, but he’d decided by her mention of defense to force her into offense- just to see how she did. His defensive maneuver was the classic response to her offensive attempt, and he wanted to see how she would respond.

Grizzlybug chuckled quietly to himself as she rolled with him and flipped back to his paws, dodging her blows at his face. A few landed and knocked him dizzy a bit, but he reached backward with his jaws to try to pull her off of his back.

She was flung a bit off her but didn’t care she flung herself at him aiming mid pelt before suddenly ducking to go under him, she tried to scratch at his belly as she rolled under aiming to roll out to the other side and hop back up.

Leopardblaze smiled at Ivyshine and gave her a nod to show she didn't mind one bit. She was very excited to be able to have their first battle training session. "That sounds good," she purred excitedly before looking over at Lotuspaw and remembered how her previous mentor hadn't done much with her before asking, "Lotuspaw would you want to go over this as well or do a different move?" She really wanted to make sure her apprentice was ready before they were to move onto anything more difficult.

"Sure, thar move sounds good." said Lotuspaw. She was kind of scared now and would rather try something basic. What if she hurts someone again? She remembered all the scolding from when she was a kit.
"Lotuskit, be careful! Don't play rough. Where is all that aggressive behavior coming from? I know you're huge, you don't have to show it off by hurting others." Ah, memories!
She switched back to reality, blushing with embarrassment at her zoning out.
