Building HavenClan (solo for now)

her paws quietly paddled over the stone floor as she looked over the Hopefully Soon to Be Camp. it was a small circular nook in a cliff, with a sheltering stone roof, but wide entrance. the walls were made of stone and dirt, but could easily be dug into, and dug out, but they were quite sturdy enough to hold. as she walked around the wide space, she could hear the echos of her own paw steps, and the slow dripping and gurgling of the small river that when right in front of the entrance, guarding it from the rest of the world, but had enough steppingstones to cross it easily.


she could already imagine what it would look like, almost like it was already real. she would do her best to turn this space into the perfect Home for a Clan, Havenclan. she would make Havenclan just what it sounded like, a haven for the Lost and Alone, a Home for everyone, no matter their past. After all, there where cats out there that could need somewhere safe, and a family to love them. and this clan, it would be made to be a large family, at least she hoped. how she wished there had been a place like that as she'd grown up. her secret wouldn't have nearly destroyed her.

the white she-cat with black tigerstipes and golden yellow eyes, peered at a stone that seemed to sparkle in the center of the space, it seemed like a giant crystal, a lovely thing to have, and perhaps the perfect meeting place... yes, it would be the High Crystal.

the she-cat smiled, here she didn't need to be a She/her. she could finally be a Him/he. a Tom like she preferred, not the female she was born as... and forced to be. she, no He! would get to live the way he wanted, free from all the pain of the past. he knew he couldn't run from it, but he would face it every day, as he moved forward. this gave the tom a bright smile.

well, he thought, time to get to work! he started hollowing out little caves he'd made in the cavern. he would make them quite large enough to house the cats that would be living there. he managed to get the largest, the Warriors den, and the Elders den done by nightfall. then he paddled wearily over to the temporary nest he'd made of feathers. it's softness felt good on his paw pads, which where sore from all the digging

he yawned as dawn's light broke through the darkness of the cavern, blinking the sleepiness out of his eyes as he fully woke up. he sat up and stretched out his limbs, his paw pads still a little sore from yesterday. but today was a new day, and he wanted to get the Medicine den and Nursery done, plus the Apprentices Den as well. them all he'd need to do tomorrow was the Leaders den, which for now was the last of his worries, since he himself would step up as leader, unless the spirits said otherwise.

sprinting to the entrance of the soon to be camp, he leaped over the steppingstones into the rain forest that made up the territory of the clan.


he set about hunting for prey for the day, he liked to fish at the entrance, but once in a while he just had to get out of there, to hunt other prey. fish was ok, but not eating it all the time. now that would be a Nightmare! blah! it was tasty, but variety was better, and healthier.
at least that's what he thought. and after a fulfilling hunt, he would bring the prey back for the day. he managed to catch a few mice and a squirrel, which he placed near his makeshift nest, and quickly finished off one of the mice. looking around he decided to work on the Medicine cats' den first, for it would be most important of the dens to complete, for the job of medicine cat was even more important than the job of deputy, right?

the tom sighed and got to work, finishing in a few hours. he ate and had a drink them went back to work. it was slow work, but satisfying he found. by the end of the day, he was tired, but felt like a job well done, as he dropped into his nest, and into a deep sleep. he found comfort already in this place and knew in his heart that he'd spend the rest of his life here, in this cavern, even if in the end, he would be alone.

but it wasn't long into the night before he awakens to the cries in the night, of kits that sounded frighteningly scared. he bolted upwards and pelted towards the sound of the crying kits. he ran as fast as his paws would let him, turning a corner to find an abandoned nest of 4 moon old kits. 3... who would in their right mind abandon 3 kits? the tom sighed and gently calmed them down, and softly lead then back to the camp, carrying them one by one across the river and setting them in his nest.
