Taking a walk [open]

Cormorantpaw padded lazily through the territory, wondering what to do for the rest of the day. He’d finished training for the day and his friends hadn’t been around when he’d returned to camp so here he was walking through the woods alone. The black and grey tom was woefully bored and he hoped some cat would come along to talk with him.

At this point, he didn’t much care who he bumped into- it could be cat from another clan as he passed their border for all he cared. As long as someone came along to entertain him, Cormorantpaw was fine with meeting someone new.

Cookie shot for cover, trying to hide from any cat that could catch her here. The rogue sniffed the air. Another cat?

Movement caught Cormorantpaw’s eye and he stopped, scenting the air. The wind shifted momentarily and brought with it the scent of rogue, making the black and grey apprentice’s hackles stand on end. Squaring up and putting on a snarl, Cormorantpaw growled,

“Who’s out there?”

Cookie poked her muzzle out of the bush, and suddenly leapt out, her lips drawn back in a snarl. I could ask the same thing! she hissed, unsheathing her claws.

Cormorantpaw tilted his head at the intruder and unsheathed his own claws.

“This is my territory,” he pointed out.

The apprentice kept a cool expression, not wanting to give himself in to anger and start demonstrating his irritation. It was better to keep a cold front than let her see his emotions. The young tom stretched his claws into the dirt and eyed her carefully. He’d only had one battle training session- how ready would he be if it came to fighting? He’d done pretty well in the match and he may have been biased but he thought Buckbranch was likely a more difficult opponent than a rogue. Who knew, though? Maybe Buckbranch has been pulling his blows. It certainly hasn’t felt like he had.

Leappaw raced through the trees. She slowed when she heard other cats. Oh great. Probably a Clan cat. She thought. Leappaw slowed when she came to where they were. She tensed for a fight. "Hey who are you?" She hissed turning her head to see them. (Leappaw is half blind just to warn you.) @Beau @~Splash~

Oh, isn't it petty Clan cats! You really think you can boss me around? Cookie snarled, tensing and getting into a fighting stance.

[ @~Splash~ @Nightbound- ok, Cormorant is in TC though, so Leappaw should be too unless she’s trespassing ]

Cormorantpaw hissed and lashed his tail as he dropped into a battle crouch.

“Yeah, actually, I do. Now get off of Thunderclan territory.”

His mind was racing. What would Buckbranch do? Where was Buckbranch? Should he fight this cat? Would he win if he did?

Cormorantpaw was fairly confident in his skills but he was still pretty untrained. He had natural talent but not all of the warrior battle tactics. Oh well. He would just have to trust that he knew what to do.

When another apprentice appeared, Cormorantpaw didn’t take his eyes off of the rogue. He didn’t recognize her scent as Thunderclan’s, though and the young tom hissed to himself. Two intruders? What were the chances of that? Now he really wasn’t certain this was a fight he could win.

“Who are you is a better question. What are you doing on Thunderclan territory?”

Leappaw hissed irritated with the clan cat. She lowered her ready to fight. @Beau @~Splash~ (she's former Windclan)

Cormorantpaw saw the other apprentice lowering in preparation for battle and he dropped into a similar crouch. He was ready to fight off two cats to protect Thunderclan from intruders.

“I’ll warn you once more. Leave this territory!”
