The pale golden, marbled tabby she-kit trudged across the snow, looking for some kind of solace. Leaf-bare was wretched, and she'd traveled far enough. Her paws ached as she scanned the terrain, hoping to find shelter.

She spotted a crate, which moved only slightly, and flicked her tail as a response to it. Quickly, she bounded towards it, her long, lean legs quivering from aches and pains that wouldn't go away. She caught a glimpse of a white bundle, perhaps another kit, cuddled away in the snow.

The lithe she-kit slowly inched towards the white kit. She carefully addressed him, not attempting to frighten him in any way.

"Hello there. My name's Sunflower, but you can call me whatever you want. What's your name?" Her voice was relaxing, like the quiet babble of a stream, but she sounded warm and confident.
