RiverClan's Betrayal

The time has come.

With the moon cast in shadows, the Dark Forest trainees are finally ready to launch an attack on their own Clans. Whether it be for revenge, a doubt of leadership and a desire for change, or simply a hunger for blood, they have struck an attack on their camp under the cover of darkness.

The attack is instantaneous, and you do not need to wait for your leader to post.

Splashpaw was asleep by the apprentice's den when she saw cats attacking. She opened her eyes and jumped when she realized that those who were attacking were her own clanmates
She fluffed out her fur and sprang into battle along with her clanmates. (I don't want her to die)

rosewater sprinted to camp as she heard screeching, having been on a moonlit walk. her eyes widened, tail lashing from side to side. her own clanmates were fighting, clawing and tearing and biting. what had happened? why was the clan falling apart? without much thought, rosewater growled and leaped into battle, her ears flat against her head. she curled her lips and lashed out, catching an apprentice on the head.
she felt guilt rise as she fought against her clanmates, but did not allow it to show. all she allowed herself to do was to keep yowling and biting, ducking and rolling. protecting the most vital organs, as she had been taught to do. rosewater wasn’t the best at fighting- she preferred peace, as most did, but whenever her clan was under attack, she dropped all rules and made it her duty as a warrior to fight back.
even if that meant she had to kill her own clan members. her friends. her family.

once an opening was cleared, rosewater leaped away from the battle, rolling into the shadows and hiding for a moment. she closed her eyes and whispered to herself, conjuring the recent power she had discovered. the song of the river answered her, sending its soldiers to her. once plenty of water was collected along her felt, rosewater stood, slipping from the shadows and looking around.
as warriors and apprentices alike fought within the darkness, she rushed to the nursery, making sure all kits and queens were safe before rushing back out into the battlefield. with a screech, rosewater jumped into the air and sprayed water toward any attacker she could find, hoping to unbalance them long enough to strike, as her water could not be used for harm. only for distraction.
but she would use her power, use her strength, use her love for her clan to fight till the very end.

Honeybee heard the fight and snuck her kits out of camp before wiggling out the small hole in the den before slowly escorting her kits away from camp. (Open)

Lionstorm sprang out of the warriors den, teeth bared as he snarled at their treacherous Clan-mates. "Come face me, cowards! I'll send you back to where you came from!" He didn't know why they were attacking their own, but it didn't matter-- this was his Clan, and he wasn't going to let others ruin it.

Sunpaws eyes widened in surprise. She was glad she had left the dark forest cause she didn't want to fight her clan. She wasn't a big fighter but she would fight for the clan, hopefully coming out alive to see Graypaw again.

It was as if a ghost from the past had just padded into the territory. A stranger yet familiar at the same time. Her golden pelt strode her up on Riverclan's doorstep, her ageless naivety allowed her to just wander into the camp without escort due to mellowed memories of her childhood, her warrior age that she spent in this clan. Her memories were conflicting, some were fond recollections while others were pained reminiscences.

She had been gone for so long, so much time has passed, she hadn't even realized she no longer bore her natural scent that identified her as a Riverclan cat, she could easily have been seen as an outsider. But then again, what outsider knew to how swim unbothered by the water, and tred in camp and not curl their nose up in disgust over the smell of fish and dampness? Her scent and waned appearance made her a stranger, but her instincts that only a natural-born Riverclan warrior would have made her someone familiar.

Yet, as she walked through the entrance, she was quick to realize the same with her old home; it was familiar yet it was strange in ginger molly's eyes. When she came through, she imagined a peaceful clearing with cats congregating together and enjoying the day together. What she was given before her was nothing but blood and violence. The stench of blood, the shattering sound of battlecries in the clearing caused her fur to stand on end and her tail fluffed up. She tried to look around and identify who the agitators were, but found that it was quite difficult to; they all smelled of Riverclan! Were they intruders who disguised their scent to remain undetected until now? Or was this a battle amongst clanmates?

Honeypool flinched in fear as a tom bolted out of the warrior den to challenge his opponents to a fight, promising death to those who dared. Still processing the fact she was in the middle of a warzone, she shivered nervously and shrunk herself down. "W-W-What is going on?" she quietly mewed, stammering over her words due to panicked confusion.

Magpiepaw strode into camp deadpanning. They were all so...annoying, not just those of his clanmates that supported the "Starclan" but those who actually believed the "Dark Forest" existed as well. Neither existed. They were both figments of their imaginations. Excuses for why things happened, bad things, good things. None of it classified as good or bad luck. Even then, he didn't really believe in those either. Everything was left up to fate, or Nature herself. Leaders got into fights, clans fight for their leaders, and the warriors in the clans die. Or the Apprentices. Or the Kits, or Queens, or Elders, even the Medicine cat, Deputy, and or Medicine Cat Apprentice could die. It's the way things were supposed to work, how they've always worked for centuries. Cats die. Wars kill cats. Cats get killed, or they die naturally. Wars distorted the border of those two occurances. He found it...well he wasn't sure how to describe how he felt about it. Many emotions and thoughts bubbled up in the very pit of his soul whenever he thought about the outcomes.

This time, he was fighting on the supposed "Dark Forest's" side. He didn't particularly fight for them, it was more...he wanted to see what it was like to be on the other side. Why fight for something that didn't even exist? The marbled apprentice strode further into the chaos, stick like legs allowing him to take much larger strides. He looked sickly, like he could be snapped in half by the faintest touch, a simple breeze. Icy hues seemed to glow with curiosity, yet seemed hollow as well. Empty of all emotions. Feelings. No Empathy or Sympathy as he watched his clanmates die right in front of his very eyes. It was the natural way of things after all. He wasn't expecting to get pounced right off the bat however. He felt all the air get knocked out of him as a familiar face tackled him. With a grunt, followed by a sigh, Magpiepaw pushed Splashpaw off him. "It's common etiquette to say hello to your clanmate." he said as he picked himself up, dusting the dirt and sand off him. Then there were two. Splashpaw and Sunpaw, to familiar faces, but he wouldn't classify them as friends. They weren't foe's either. They were nothing more than floating pieces of dirt that frequented in his life, much like most the other's he called 'clanmates' and 'other clanners.' It was exausting honestly, keeping up with all these different labels.

"You know. Two on One isn't really fair."

Lionstorm had knocked an opponent, sending the cat scampering back toward the camp entrance. He whirled around, baring his teeth at the she-cat that approached him. He didn't recognize the she-cat, but from her golden pelt and relative age, she could've easily passed for being his mother.

"Who are you?" It was less of a question and more of a demand. She didn't smell of RiverClan, she smelled like an outsider, and given the circumstances he was suspicious of her intentions. "We're overrun by traitors. These fox-hearts started attacking us in our sleep. And they call themselves 'Clan-mates'! Fallenstar will have their pelts if they dare come back after this." And he'd have hers, too, if she tried anything. Lionstorm was confident he could take the golden female down-- she was quite small compared to him.

Fawnpaw didn't know what was happening but had woke from his snooze to the sound of battling outside the apprentices' den. Bits of moss still stuck in his fur and feathers tucked among brown tufts, he was up in an instant to let little paws scurry toward the commotion. And when he saw what was happening, it was worse than he thought: RiverClanners were attacking other RiverClanners. What? He blinked, perplexed. Fawnpaw didn't know how to fight (much less who to fight), so he simply stared, glued to the spot where he stood while watching in horror.
