As you approach, you are unnerved by their smoldering gazes.

You know you're being judged for all your worth, but you're determined to make your case. It's not every day cats try to reincarnate, and you're tired of being trapped here. Perhaps your first life didn't go as planned.. but the next one is going to be better.

All you have to do is answer them.

"What makes you stand out from the rest of the cats who want another chance?"

┕━☽ Great StarClan, He felt small.

┕━☽ The gray blue tom stood there in front of the cats. He swallowed as he recalled his death. He stepped forward, his old body shining. He had ascended to StarClan as his elder body. He was the happiest in his last moment. But he thought he had more to offer to RiverClan. So, here he was now.

┕━☽ My name is Grumbletail, and I was an Elder of RiverClan, he introduced with a strong - yet shaky - voice. I was blinded by a badger just a moon after getting my warrior name. He explained. I-I he said in a shaky voice

┕━☽ He twitched his tail. I feel as I need a second chance, As I didn't live my life to the fullest. He said. He felt small, as the entire world was on his shoulders. He stood up straight, awaiting his response.

The Tabby turned his head to take a gander at who it was who found their little spot. It took a lot of willpower to get to where the stars meet the darkness. That or spite. Eitherway, both were strong.

Flopped ears twitched as the older tom spoke up, his soft expression morphing to that of confusion. "And... I'm sorry...but is that your whole argument?" Rowanmist asked with a bit of a chuckle in his voice. "You aren't the only one who feels as though your live wasn't lived to the fullest...why should we send you back when we haven't done so for the others?" he asked.

[BEAR.]

"Why does it matter if you were blinded?" Lichenflood narrowed his eyes. "I sincerely hope for your sake, you did not retire to elderhood because of that." If he had a rabbit for every disabled cat in the forest who still went on to be excellent warriors, no one would go hungry. "Every cat who has died feels they did not live their life to the fullest. What have you done to stand out from them?"

[Doom]

"Why do feel as if you need a second chance?" Coldsong asked in a judging tone, puzzled by Grumbletail's vague reply. "Sounds urgent. Also an odd way of wording it, considering you lived to be so old. Had all that time in life and yet wasted it. Hmph." He could certainly relate to the tom, as he'd wasted his own life away feeling sorry for himself up until the last moon; yet he wasn't feeling as if he needed a second chance.

┕━☽ The old tomcat sighed. He turned to face Coldsong as they spoke. They were right, He had wasted his chance. You are right, Coldsong. I wasted my chance. I made a mistake. When I became blind, I thought that I should be kept away in the Elders den. That was my first mistake.

┕━☽ The tom then turned to Lichenflood. Yes, I did retire. I had problems. I made many miskakes, but I was too caught up in my dream to learn from it. If you give me a second chance, I will do things much differently. For starters, I would take time to appreciate the world around me.

┕━☽ Then, He turned to Rowanmist. I understand that every cat thinks that, and I get it. I lost many cats, and that is the reason for all of this. I never payed attention.

┕━☽ He sighed. What can I do to prove I deserve a second chance.

The tabby tilted his head to the side, a confused smile still plastered on his features. "Well, that's the thing isn't it. Not everybody deserves a second chance." he stated, before straightening himself up, fluffing up his fur in the process. "That's not to say you were awful and didn't do things. But, there's a very big difference between wanting a second chance...and deserving it." a pause "You were blinded, and that's awful, but that's fate for you. After that, however, you wore down your own path. Every action after that was you...and you alone. StarClan had no play in it. With all that time you had alive, and chose to be just...that. Alive. You didn't think just once, to stop what you were doing...and try something else?"

As he was speaking, Rowanmist drew closer, now crouching and looking up at the elder. "Everyone dies with regrets, why is it you should be one of the few to reconcile with those regrets?"

[BEAR.]

Lichenflood bared his fangs at Grumbletail. "You have brought no value to the Clans, so I see no value in allowing you to walk with them once more. You had your chance and you blew it, festering away in the elders' den while your Clan-mates-- some of which who had the same injury-- worked their hides off to support you. No, I will not see to it you return."

Harsh as it may be, the Dark Forest tom was unrelenting. He could forgive many things, but would not indulge a cat he deemed a slacker.

[Doom]

If Grumbletail looked close enough, he could see the glimmering interest dulling from Coldsong's eyes by the second as he mumbled half-assed replies to each of them. Then, the question came, and he snapped. "It's not our job to tell you why you deserve a second chance." Coldsong's fur bristled and his tail lashed irritably behind him. "I definitely don't want to see a lazy oaf like you given a second chance. I've met several disabled cats in my lifetime that soared as warriors, medicine cats, hell -- even leaders, but you clearly wasted your first life away over it. You have no warrior spirit, Grumbletail, and I think you'll waste your life away all over again. Just like how you've wasted our time here." He growled. "I'm done. You have no value in my eyes."

┕━☽ Grumbletail sighed. Looks like he wasn't going to get a second chance after all. "There is no fighting your argument. I understand your choice. Thank you though, for your consideration," he said to the counsel.
