A Spotted Wren

Spottedpaw was crying in the corner of the apprentice den, hidden by shadows. She cried because she felt like everyone hated her. That she wasn't good enough. Because her two former adoptive parents were traitors. Buring her face in her paws she sobbed harder. She wasn't perfect enough. Wasn't good enough for people not to hate her. She was nothing but a useless lump, who tried but wasn't good enough.

The small molly turned in her nest the sound of her fellow apprentices conversing had woken her up and honestly she needed to go do something. Wrenpaw began to fix her nest gathering dry clumps of moss and putting sticks in order, suddenly she started to pick up the muffled sound of crying. Leaning her head she stared at the shadows, squinting her eyes until she could make out the form of a slightly familiar calico she-cat. Wren knew a little about her but not who she was as a person, I mean who didn't her parents were traitors who for as far as Wrenpaw knew went missing. The short molly shook her head before awkwardly heading over to the crying molly, "Hey, uh you ok?" she attempted to rest a paw on her shoulder.

Spottedpaw looked up. Someone was asking her if she was ok. Um- Wrenpaw maybe? "I guess" she said, wiping tears off her face. She turned around. "Don't make fun of me!" she said quietly. Her body shook as she thought about her adoptive parents. They were traitors to Riverclan, and they ruined her life.

Sheesh. This was going to get ugly the tabby removed her paw blinking slowly at the crying apprentice, "I wasn't making fun of you...perhaps you'll feel better if you share your troubles."

Spottedpaw nodded. "I-I g-guess" she took a deep breath. "I don't know who my parents are. Silverspot and Horsetail adopted me when I was little, and then one day Silverspot randomly left, and betrayed Riverclan, and Horsetail did too, and now everyone hates me if I'm not perfect, because of them!" she buried her head in her paws. "My half-brother only just told me we are related."

Wrenpaw leaned down next to the now sobbing molly and moved her tail comfortable around her shoulders leaning her head in, "My mom went missing but that doesn't make her or me a traitor," Green eyes looked at Spotted, "Who your parents were don't define you." that might have been a slight lie parents influence their children a lot but it was always the child's choice to follow them.

Spottedpaw nodded. "Bu everyone calls them traitors though. And I never feel like I'm good enough. And it feels like everyone else is always watching, waiting for me to mess up"

Why was this so hard! Wrenpaw wasn't the best at explaining her feelings, she took a sharp breath. "I can assure you no one watching or expecting you to be perfect."
