Eveningpaw succeeded at rolling under him and Grizzlybug felt paws bat harmlessly at his stomach. The tom nodded to her to silently say good job and stood his ground, waiting for her to attack him first since he’d already designated her as being in the offensive. The warrior watched carefully, though, wondering if she would try that maneuver again since it worked the first time. It would be a good lesson that specialized moves can be predictable if used more than once in a battle.

Eveningpaw knew better than to try the same move, instead she grabbed for his tail and attempted to yank it away from his body. She knew a good tail jerk could be effective in a real battle, especially if she were to hypothetically dislocate the tail.

Peachpaw nodded determinedly and glanced down at her paws. Use her tail for balance? She hoped having a bobtail wouldn't be bad for her balance. Readjusting her stance, she used her front paws to shove her body up onto her hind paws, feeling awkward and unbalanced at this wobbly high sight-line. She swished her short tail in an attempt to stay steady, holding her paws up in front of her. She swiped once, the movement causing her weight to shift with her paw.
"Woah!" She gasped, unable to regain her balance and toppling over onto her side with an exclamation. Though, she was quick to scramble back to her paws with her chin high. "I... meant to do that!"

Ivyshine watched with alert eyes. She watched the apprentice shakily get to her paws and swipe, but her eyes widened as she tumbled and tried to cover it up. "I'm sure you did." Ivyshine mewed evenly, but she couldn't help but twitch her whiskers in amusement. Ah, what it feels to be an apprentice again! She thought. She glanced back at Leopardblaze and Lotuspaw with a nod of encouragement before turning back to Peachpaw. "And that was a good first try." She mewed earnestly. Ivyshine wasn't sure if her bob-tail would affect her, but she had seen warriors with tails just like hers. Ivyshine had faith the apprentice could do it. "When you go to swipe, try compensating with putting a little more weight on the opposite side to keep you from toppling over. Something like this." Deciding it was time for a demonstration, the dappled, silver warrior stood on her hind paws, quickly using her long, silver tail for balance, and swiped with her forepaws a couple times before dropping to the ground. It feels good to train another cat the ways of the Clans. She thought with a soft smile at the apprentices. "Try again." The order was softly spoken, but it was a order.

Leopardblaze looked at Lotuspaw meowed, "Okay we're going to do the same move the Ivyshine just showed Peachpaw." She twitched her tail excitedly as they began to start. "Do you want me to show you how to do it or did you see how they did it?" she asked, more than happy to demonstrate the move. She couldn't wait until she would be taught some more difficult moves, she could remember her sparring sessions with her mentor and missed those fun and exciting times. She missed being an apprentice and always having the chance to learn something new.

Lotuspaw desided to try on her own. She rose onto her himd paws and scratched in front of her, ceeping her ballance. Tis was fairly simplae. Probably not bad for a moon old apprentice that was bigger than almost everyone. But could she do better? Suddenly she felt her massive shoulders sway and fell back with a thud. She blushed a violent red. So embarrasing, falling right on your bum!

Peachpaw watched her mentor's movements intently, trying to memorize her every movement to accurately replicate the move. She paid little attention now to the other pair, though she did feel a little better to see she hadn't been the only one to take a tumble. "Okay!" She nodded, voice stern as she once again adjusted her stance. Pushing hard once again, she rose more easily to her hind paws, swishing her tail to balance herself. Now was going a little better, less wobbly, so she brought one paw up to swipe. Leaning away from the paw she was using, she swiped, shifting her weight again to swipe with the other paw but she dropped back down to her paws with the swipe because of she couldn't hold herself up any longer. All her movements had happened pretty quickly, but in her mind, everything had been slowed down as she'd focused on each muscle movement. "It's weird standing up like that!" She commented, shaking her hind legs out as she spoke.

For a moment, Ivyshine watched Lotuspaw with alert eyes. The she-cat's stance was good. Both of them now just needed to focus on their balance. She turned back to her apprentice to watch her, pride sparking in her gaze. Still a little unsteady, but easily achievable with more practice. "Good job." Ivyshine purred, dark-silver splotched tail swishing softly on the ground behind her. She nodded in agreement. "Yes, yes it is. But, with a little more practice, you'll be able to stand up for more than just a few heartbeats." Though Ivyshine didn't think she would be able to travel by walking on her hind paws, she figured she would get more balance and be able to stay up longer. "This could also help you find your balance in whatever your doing too." Ivyshine mewed thoughtfully. "Whenever you need to try finding or getting better at your balance, perhaps you could stand up on your hindpaws. But don't do anything stupid." The last sentence came out a hasty warning, but she didn't want a report from Lionstar saying her apprentice was out of control. She motioned for her apprentice to try again. "Try again, but this time, just see how long you can stay balanced." She mewed, looking at her apprentice thoughtfully.

Leopardblaze watched as Lotuspaw attempted the move, everything looked good until she saw her begin to fall as she lost her balance. "That was good," she purred looking over at Ivyshine and gave her a smile. "All that really needs work on is your balance," she mewed, all she felt was pride for her young apprentice. "I want you to try it again, but use your tail a bit more to help stay balanced," she told her, glancing over at Ivyshine and Peachpaw, her whiskers twitching in amusement at the apprentice's comment. She remembered what fun being an apprentice, it was such a long time ago now.
