Rosebelly exited the leader's den, her eyes glittering with anxiety. Snowstar had not been pleased with her report, but she wasn't angry. Just as anxious as she was. Rosebelly sighed. It had been a long day, and she still had more to do. She must round up her patrol.
Rosebelly padded around the clearing in search of her patrol. Her amber eyes scanned around, searching for her patrol members. Where could they be? She had to let them know she spoke with Snowstar. Rosebelly eventually gave up, sat down, and groomed her muddy pelt. The taste was disgusting, and the smell even more so. Rosebelly frowned. If only the twolegs hadn't been clearing up the Thunderpath with those big, yellow monsters.

Warblerpaw and Ferretpaw sat as close as possible in front of a thin, stringy mouse that they had been sharing best they could yet they barely got a mouthful each. Mud still crusted their fur as by the time they got to camp they were too tired to bother with cleaning yet, and they assumed they'd need to jump in the river before their pelts were normal again.
Looking up, Ferretpaw noticed Rosebelly sitting anxiously outside of Snowstar's den and nudged her sister up onto her feet. "Come on, we gotta see what Snowstar said to Rosebelly." She stretched as quickly as she could before padding over to the older cat.
Warblerpaw nodded tiredly, getting to her paws and shaking out her fur even if it stayed plastered down, she started padding after her sister. She felt too small, her muddied fur really showing how skinny she has gotten after the shortage of prey.

Morningblue had been trying his best to groom his fur after the mission, his ear twitched and he looked up, noticing Rosebelly sitting outside the den. He noticed two of the apprentices from the patrol come closer to her and padded over to join. He looked squarely at the shecat, saying nothing but waiting patiently for her to pass along whatever news she chose to share from her meeting with Snowstar.

Sharp paw looked at the three that came over to Rosebelly "I'll just come back later" the mentorless apprentice pickec up the mouse and went over to somewhere near the highrock and flopped onto his stomach starting to cry "Im never going to have a mentor, and im never going to live my dream of becoming the greatest warrior in the history of Thunderclan"

Rosebelly averted her gaze to the pair of apprentices. She had just finished grooming a paw, and now it looked like a normal white paw with a tint of brown. Rosebelly straightened and forced a smile. "Heya," she greeted. How are you?"
Her gaze met Morningblue's, and she flicked an ear to let him know she knew he was there. Rosebelly turned her attention back to the pair of apprentices, and wrapped her mud stained tail around her paws.

Sprucefur had spent the rest of the day washing the mud from his paws, and just entered camp. He spotted Rosebelly, immediately trotting over to the she-cat. "How'd it go...?" he asked, concerned.

Warblerpaw put on a smile, her body hurt so she quickly plopped down onto the ground and started to lick her pads, trying to pick out any splinters. "I'm as good as I can be after that trek." She sighed, she felt two times older than she was but she was too tired to act young and care-free, especially since they hadn't been able to bring anything back to feed their clan. "What did Snowstar say?" She asked gently, her voice unnaturally quiet because she was afraid their leader would be angry they went through the trouble of disobeying the warrior code only to return empty handed and at risk of Halestar knowing of their intrusion.
Ferretpaw could see the anxiety concealed by Rosebelly's kind words. The air was thick with it and Ferretpaw almost thought it was difficult to breathe properly. She didn't like it, she was nervous as well but she couldn't take the feeling that everyone was just like her.

Rosebelly frowned. "I feel like I ruined her day," she murmured. It wasn't as intense as I thought. She was worried for Sharppaw, and then she was worried about him telling Halestar." The ginger she-cat sighed. "I'm glad it's over though."
It was true the meeting wasn't intense, but the air was thick between the two. It was very tense. Rosebelly recalled how Snowstar had flinched at her final question, "How do you think Halestar will react?" It was almost as if she made an attempt to strike her. It was a rather blunt question, but an important one. The next Gathering would be interesting for sure.
Rosebelly glanced back at the den, her eyes rounding with worry. How was Snowstar currently taking this? Not well, she assumed. It's bad enough the twolegs are scaring all the prey away. Now I had to come in and make it worse by saying we were caught.
Rosebelly turned back to her aquaintences. Dirtpaw was beginning to trot over, her gaze unsure. Rosebelly nodded, and Dirtpaw gladly padded over. Rosebelly knew how much Dirtpaw needed permission for things. Ever since she had been born, her despicable parents had treated her wrong. Talking down to her and even striking her, her parents had tortured the young cat until they died.
Rosebelly gave Dirtpaw a warm smile. "Have you been cleaning yourself up? Your paws aren't muddy anymore," she purred, trying to keep the conversation light. Dirtpaw grinned. "Yep! I'm so happy we're out of ShadowClan now. Boy, that place was muddy," she responded. Though, she spotted a glimmer of panic in her gaze. She knew that Sharppaw might be telling Halestar right now about the encounter.
Rosebelly frowned and turned back to Sprucefur, Warblerpaw, and Ferretpaw. Are they worrying too? Do they wonder what happened to Sharppaw? The warrior shifted her paws uneasily. "Anyway," she began awkwarly. "What have you guys been up to?"

Ferretpaw sat down next to her sister, happy to try and move past the moment best they could. "Me and Warblerpaw attempted to go hunting on our own territory, we caught a few mice for the elders." She leaned over and started to clean the back of Warblerpaw's head, trying to get rid of the nasty smelling mud there.
"We kept the smallest one after we made sure all the elders got their share." Warblerpaw put it, not knowing where her own mentor was to report to. She felt guilty eating the mouse even if it barely did anything to stop her hunger.

Sharp paw looked at the three others "I'll come back later" he picked up the mouse and padded away to near the highrock and floped onto his stomach and started crying "I never going to get a mentor at this rate, and im never going to reach my dream" he grumbled

Basilstripe lay near the exit of the camp, trying to soak up the last of the year's heat. Soon winter would come and she wouldn't be able to have times like this. These days were stressful, the clan was trying to prepare for the winter but the monsters were scaring away all the prey that lived in this territory. Cats were getting skinnier and kits were going hungry, and Basilstripe wasn't happy about it. She was one of the last cats to eat but today she just wanted to relax. She rolled over and pushed herself up to her paws, stretching out until she wasn't very stiff before looking around the clearing.
The she-cat spotted Chilidash and a smile spread across her maw. She had seen him around and they had had a few chats but she wanted to know him better. She found his deep ginger fur quite attractive and, to her, it looked way better than her striped pelt.
