Riversong was pleased with themselves. They had picked two borage flowers alongside the already gathered mushroom, and it made for a pretty jumble of herbs. Perhaps they would find something else to add at the next site? Some of those small white flower herb they’d seen in other cats’ jaws (chamomile, doesn’t know the name or use, but think it might look nice) might look good… or a new herb that could help Springpaw. Yes, a herb or two or even three more for Riversong’s wounded clanmates was the best possible scenario. Riversong followed the group onwards.

DaylightPaw bounds out to meet the rest of the group, her ear flicking.

'Sorry! I got distracted by other things. I'm here now..'

As they reach Willows Rise DaylightPaw starts looking around for herbs. Or anything that smelled like herbs. Or looked like herbs. Probably grabbed a few pretty flowers by accident.

Ohh, I'm on a roll!

The cheery she-cat skipped on to the next location with the group. She felt great about this event, she was already doing much better than the last. The Bengal apprentice moved swiftly, although she was careful to not step on anything that seemed important. Her gaze would shift over the area, searching for anything that seemed the slightest bit familiar.

Willow's Rise was gorgeous area. She'd been here once before? Perhaps. It seemed so long ago now though. It was just a blur in her memory. Regardless, Treepaw moved to the next patch of familiar plants, leaning down and gently picking them to bring over to Springpaw.

Hmmm, these seemed interesting. A shockingly pleasant scent came from the flowers, and Tansyjaw was a bit less irritated by all the flower porting she was being forced to do for Springpaw. The apprentice did seem to be leading the crowd a bit more ably now that she had stopped rambling on. With this, slightly more charitable thought in her mind, the elder followed the medicine cat apprentice, and the rest of the cats helping to find herbs, toward Willow's Rise. She hoped that the promise of a decrease in wind and general coldness would be delivered in practice, because she was being forced to reckon with the gradual thinning of her coat this leafbare and had not enjoyed it.

Willow's Rise wouldn't be so bad. Bumblestar hadn't found anything the last two scopes, but the others had managed more than enough to make up for her lack. Even so, she got to looking, poking around the barriers that surrounded the gravesite.

Well, at least she had something other than a stick, Mallowpaw thought as she glanced at the thick wad of cobwebs wrapped around the end of her stick. She knew cobwebs were important, but looking around at the herbs some of the others carried, it didn't seem all so impressive. So the apprentice fixed her eyes on the ground, hoping to find any herbs hidden among the underbrush.

Aha! Cobwebs!

Eagerly wrapping them around a solid twig, the small, grey molly collected all the webs she could before skittering back over to her clanmates and following them to the next destination. Grey ears perked up as she heard Springpaw would be leading them to Willow's Rise. Hmmmm, maybe she could check on her sister's resting place while she looked for more herbs...

Well… that was an awful lot of burnet collected within the cove. Maybe she should keep it in mind for the next time she sends out patrols to scout the area to hopefully bring back some more burnet to add to her prestigious storage. Perhaps not enough had sprouted in the deeper stretches of the territory after she had sent out cats to search for the herb. However, there was also the information that a good portion of herbs were relatively seasonal than others. Either way, it wasn’t like she would be needing any more of the herb now. As useful as the herb was, it was best to not carry an overabundance of them. It wasn’t relatively that common to be using burnet, only for the most severe of cases is when it should be put to use. Her eyes danced over towards the familiar forms of Bumblestar and Daylightpaw as they caught up with the group, staying momentarily on Daylightpaw longer as the apprentice rambled out an apology for not following the group. It almost took Springpaw every single nerve within her body to not state any sort of remark for the young molly’s absence, only showing a faint grimace that marked her features as she let loose a deep sigh.

“You… are fine… but please… do try… to refrain… yourself… from becoming… distracted… if that’s… going to… be the… case… I’ll… send a warrior… to go… look for you… so you… can… come back… with the group… or be… escorted back… to camp.” The dilute calico admitted to Daylightpaw with a curt nod before facing her attention back towards the group, making sure everyone was done with their collecting before heading back off towards the direction of their next, and most likely last destination.

Arriving at WIllow’s Rise, the molly looked skyward, almond-shaped hues on the dull gray clouds above within the gravesite. While she preferred the safety within the corps of ThunderClan territory, she had to admit there was some sort of glamor to the place. It wasn’t much to describe, but the whispers of the wind and shallow weaving of branches gave her a feeling that she couldn’t muster. Whiskers twitching, she made a mental note of potentially searching the vicinity for some honey. Preferably large portions of the sweet flavoring nectar. There wasn’t any back in the safety of her herb storage, so hopefully her clan-mates would find some luck in finding some honey along the way. Some juniper berries would be a good idea, as well, if they are lucky enough to come across any, that is. Twitching her tail, the medicine cat apprentice motioned with her head, letting her clan-mates know they were given free rein once more. At this point, she had been so pleasantly surprised by how accurate they were with their herb collecting. Luck or not, it was still pretty impressive. She almost wondered if she could get away with gathering some herbs of her own… or actually, maybe not. Better to play it safe for now.

Daylightpaw rolled a 6!
You haven’t even been here for the whole round and yet luck has caught your tongue! As you were searching, you stumbled into a small pile of stinging nettle and decided to delicately pick out two of the needles. Be careful not to eat any of the seeds!

Bumblestar rolled a 6!
As you were searching around the barriers of the gravesite, a familiar herb seemingly caught your eye. Ragweed! You snag a couple of the green plants before heading back towards the group.

Mousepaw rolled a 4!
Walking around the burial site, you keep your eyes peeled for any particularly useful herbs. Instead, you find... is that? On the ground, beneath a bee's nest, you find pieces of fallen honeycomb, and they are still filled with honey! A branch beside the littered pieces tells the story of what happened here, and you waste no time grabbing one of the honeycombs.

Basilpaw rolled a 4!
The scent is intoxicating as you land upon some particularly aromatic herbs that taste just as divine as they smell. Careful to not grab too much - you might slobber if you do - you pick a single leaf of catmint, happy with your findings, you bound back towards the group.

Riversong rolled a 2!
You were following after Basilpaw and could feel the scent wafting from those delightful little leaves as well. Unable to exert as much patience as him, you dig right in, grabbing another of the delicious catmint leaves, wondering if you can get away with eating one of them.

Treepaw rolled a 3!
You see them in an instant! You must have been around these flowers all your life. Usually, the flowers are white puffballs that are brought to the nursery for kits to play with, but you recognize them in this state all the same! Dandelions are growing in a pleasantly sized batch, and without restraint, you grab one of them. Surely this will be of use to the clan? Springpaw’s nod of approval would indicate as much!

Mallowpaw rolled a 4!
A place like this, filled with bushes and sticks galore, seems like an excellent spot to find some much-needed cobwebs. Battles always bring wounds, and the medicine cats will need to stop the blood flow from many of those. Grabbing a couple of thin sticks from the ground, you poke around a few bushes until you find what you are looking for!

Tansyjaw rolled a 4!
You notice a few cats here and there seem to already have their maws filled to the brim with herbs, but that doesn't stop you from noticing some lovely red blooms nearby. These are easily recognizable and used quite a bit by the medicine cats whenever someone is in enough pain. Dipping your head, you add a poppy flower to your herbs.

Unfortunately, a slick of bad luck seemed to worm its way onto your paws and you weren’t able to find practically anything, and all you had to do now was watch as everyone else collected herbs while you were left empty-pawed. What a bummer.

Yep. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing. Even grabbing herbs that Springpaw was certain that they hadn’t ever seen before, and honey was found as well! Her lips curled into a smile as she eagerly snatched a batch of five juniper berries herself, plump and ready to eat despite it slowly turning into newleaf. She could easily see the mouthful of herbs that everyone seemed to be carrying, feeling her giddiness further increase. Stars, if only cats were this motivated to find herbs like these when sent out on herb patrols. With a smile, she may need to find some more honey in case the honey that the cats had collected wouldn’t be enough to give these cats the treat they were promised. No worries, though. She could always rope up the fun and have a few cats go out to collect the sweet nectar.

“Well… I think… we did… pretty good… on our finds… everyone… patrols would… definitely need… to work hard…. To keep up with… you all… let’s head back… and I’ll see… what I can… do about that… prize… who knows… maybe I can… get a berry… or two… for those… that had… been sticking around… the longest… but other than… that… Mousepaw… I think… you deserve… a reward… for the… most herbs.” Springpaw smiled behind the berries that she held handling in her jaws, craning her head forward before leading the way back towards camp.

Thank you all for participating! This event was pretty much very similar to my other event because I was mainly trying to get the storage all packed up with herbs. Everyone who participated in this event earns 1k, while the winner of this event earns 5k. This was a pleasure to start and I hope to make another event similar to this soon… just without it being close to being identical to my older event, of course.

The last round of gathering was a success. It sounded like it was time to head back to the camp now so Treepaw gathered up her supplies carefully and began to follow the group back. The Bengal would have to tell Spiderthroat about this expedition soon! Surely, he'd be proud of her then!
