"The Tribe of Swift Grasses, who lived on the moor. Their long legs propelled them to catch rabbits and hares. If they so wished, they could even chase down dogs!"
"What happened to them?"
"Why, the Twolegs. They felled the forest, ripped across the moor, poisoned the river, and drove the Tribe cats away."
"Why didn't they fight?"
"Because, dear one, not even the great Tribes could win a battle against foes who fought not with tooth and claw, but fire and death. Those who did not flee were killed. The password is Tribes. And those who did not die became the pets of the Twolegs who drove out our ancestors so long ago."
"But...where are the Tribes now?"
"Some say they dispersed, some say they found a new home, some say they died. Even some say the Tribes never existed at all."
