Character of the Month (June 2021)

Welcome to Character of the Month, a feature designed to recognize two characters who deserve kudos!

Using the form found at the bottom of this post, you may nominate two Main Roleplay characters you think deserved to be featured! Please use one form per character - they should not be in the same form.

For the sake of giving every character a chance, avoid nominating cats who have already been nominated for the month.

Nominations will be held for approximately 3 weeks, ending around the the 21st of every month. Once it ends, a poll will be posted displaying the names of the characters who qualify for voting.

Users can vote for as many characters as they want to be recognize. It is discouraged to vote for every character listed, as only two will win.

If two characters have the most votes, but they are roleplayed by the same person, the winner will be picked by staff based on the nomination reasons, and the second winner will default to the next highest vote.

The voting period will end on the last day of the month, and the results will be posted on the 1st of the new month.

Before you nominate, please keep these in mind.

• Characters should have been roleplayed within the last two weeks of being nominated to avoid inactive characters being featured.
  
  
• You may not nominate your own characters, or advertise your characters to gain nominations.
  
  
• Characters used to violate a roleplay rule cannot be voted for the month they broke the guideline. They will be omitted from the final polling.
  
  
• Nominations must include an explanation of why the character deserves recognition. Posts that do not provide a reasoning will be removed. Additionally, be thorough in your evaluation of the character. Vague or thoughtless statements (e.g. "they're cool") will result in your nomination being discarded. We want to know why you think this cat deserves attention!
  
  
• You may nominate two characters, but avoid nominating characters who have already been nominated.

Why should this character be featured?: Not only is she a wonderfully crafted character, she has to put up with the two biggest grumps yet secret mama's boys in the world, Kestrelstar and Snakeheart. The way she cares deeply for her Clan, but also has these dilemmas on if things are going too far is wonderful to read and a nice contrast to the constant war mindset that Kestrelstar has. She brings excellent ideas to the table, and even though she gets a bit nervous speaking in front of crowds she stays true to her duties as RiverClan's deputy and stands by her leader.

Why should this character be featured?: Iciclepaw is a cat who is brave and courageous despite the deep rooted anxiety and nervousness that her job brings. She's able to focus on what matters and see past her own emotions to the fact that the rising conflict between RiverClan and ThunderClan will only result in more loss. Quite wise beyond her years and eager to learn all she can, this young she-cat is going to thrive as one of ThunderClan's medicine cats. Excellently portrayed and beautifully crafted, each post of hers is a delight to read.

Why should this character be featured?: Oh my goodness, there's nothing not to love about this angry little bean. The way Angel portrays his emotions and past with his father is beautiful, and you can tell that every one of his actions is carefully considered. Through everything, he's a hateful, annoying grump, and I LOVE HIM. His portrayal is beautiful, and you can tell with a glance that Angel put a lot of time into developing this character, through his anxiety over his father and attitude toward most everyone he sees as a threat. Though he's new to ShadowClan, he's eager to train and better his battle skills, and current plots he's engaged in are wonderfully crafted. On top of all of that, her roleplaying style really begins to shine when Eclipsepaw takes center stage. I honestly can't wait to see where Eclipsepaw goes in the future!

Why should this character be featured?: Despite the traumatic loss of his sister Tumbletail (who he suspects was murdered by someone inside the clan, but can't prove it), Bumblestep maintained a striking amount of empathy and kindness which shows a kind of strength I haven't often seen highlighted. He's a beautiful soul through and through -- written wonderfully and truly a refreshing character to read!

Why should this character be featured?: I've only interacted with him a little, but Worm's character is so well written that I feel like I've known him for ages. He's unique. Fiercely loyal, blind yet more perceptive than most, a cat who has no filter in the best way possible, allergic to compliments -- all hail the Dark Lord.

Why should this character be featured?: Scorchstrike is just such a great and well-developed cat. I love her personality, and how she can be a queen, even though you wouldn't expect it at first! I love doing roleplay's with Scorchstrike, and ChillCat roleplay's her very well!

Why should this character be featured?: It's just so great how Foxpaw never gives up, even though she only has three legs, and didn't get to become the medicine cat apprentice. She does turn out to be a great warrior, and I love the way feather lily roleplay's her!

Why should this character be featured?: Buzzardpaw is so fun and so full of mischief. She uses cat's words against them sometimes {like she used my cat's words to try and threaten him} and she tries her best to get what she wants. Though, when she's the one with a threat hanging over her head, she instantly changes. She pleads the cat to do not do it. She really deserves COTM.

Why should this character be featured?: Really seems super peaceful and sees the best in everyone. believes that problems can be solved without fighting and that is a last resort only. seems very hard to irritate and if she is irritated it comes out less hostile, and more like nervousness. never tries to make others feel bad about themselves. I think these things make her extremely fitting to win.

Why should this character be featured?: Graystorm is a really great cat. He's sweet and kind and has a way with cats that makes it impossible not to love him. I really enjoyed rping Shinestone with him and look forward to rping them together in the future.

Why should this character be featured?: Why shouldn't he? Goldenclaw is hilarious and the way Kyrieknight writes makes him totally seem like a big bad guy with an insult always at the ready. I'm always exited to see what Goldenclaw is going to do next!

Why should this character be featured?:
I love her! She is incredibly dedicated to her Clan, but is also not afraid to speak her mind. Cat's safety and sanity overshadows their egos, in her mind I suppose! She definitely deserves to win, and Tia is really good about having long, thoughtful posts that have her perfectly in character.

Ottersplash is just a delightful and flamboyant ball of energy! He's sweet and genuine, and Redtalon is amazing at portraying that youthful spirit! Otter deserves to win, cause he's been a little ray of sunshine for me and my characters!
