Tinker's New Garden
[Open to anybody who wants to RP]
Tinker was pulled from her sleep by a warmth filtering down to her skin through her long, thick fur. She blinked her eyes open and looked around lazily through sleep-heavy blue eyes. The warm sunlight was hitting her directly and a soft breeze stirred her fur. Understanding slowly dawned on her. She shook her head, flinging out the last remnants of sleep, her pink collar with the shiny golden thing jingled pleasantly. She hopped to her feet and wandered to the open back door. Her nostrils flared as the new smells of outside bathed her tongue. She had been allowed to explore at the last nest but her house folks had packed everything together and loaded her into one of their monsters and they ended up here. She'd been locked inside since then.
One of her housefolks paced up behind her. He reached a furless paw down and rubbed her down along her spine. She arched into his touch, closing her eyes and purring. When he straightened, she shook to fluff up her fur and pranced through the open door.
This new garden was all dirt, unlike her old grassy garden shaded by large trees and decorated with all sorts of toys and even a perfect patch of catnip just for her. She wrinkled her nose. Housefolks really are strange.
She shrugged and took a running start to climb easily to the top of the wooden fence enclosing the garden. She sat, folding her brown tail neatly around her white paws, and focused her senses on learning what she could of her new home.

Re: Tinker's New Garden
A shadow flitted across Torro's closed eyes. He opened one grey eye to see who'd disturbed his sun.
A beautiful young she-cat caught his eye. He opened the other and leaned up from the comfy impression he'd made lying in the grass of his garden enjoying the morning sun.
The sun caught brilliantly in the wisps of long hair outlining her body. He flicked his tongue out to wet his mouth. He stood up with a long stretch, shaking blades of grass from his fur. A quick peek upwards showed him that she still hadn't noticed him. So he groomed out his pelt quickly then leaped to the top of the fence beside her.

Re: Tinker's New Garden
Tinker turned calmly to face the newcomer.
"Hi there!" She chirped with a smile. "We just moved in here? Do you live close?"

Re: Tinker's New Garden
Torro gave his black chest fur a couple of quick licks, thinking through his words carefully. It'd been a while since he'd met a new cat, even longer since it was an attractive young one. He suddenly became slef-conscious of his solid black coat, so plain next to her vivid colors, and duller than it once was.
"You're in an awful chipper mood," he stammered awkwardly. "I...uh...yeah, I live here, next door. My housefolk don't hang around much so I get a lot of time on my own. It's nice, all the freedom, ya know. I can practically start my own club over here and they'd be none the wiser..." Torro stopped suddenly, heat flushing beneath his short fur. "I'm rambling. I'm sorry."
He shook himself roughly and swallowed. "It's different...er...nice to have a new pretty neighbor...Was that too forward?" Torro felt he may fall off the fence. "You met anybody else around yet?"

Re: Tinker's New Garden
Tinker tucked her chin into her chest and laughed in spite of herself. At his look she cocked her head and composed herself. "Nope, you're the first." Her chin popped up. "You're not rambling, or at least it's not bad. I can't remember the last time I had a friend outside of my housefolk."
The sun climbed in the sky. She was aware of the time passing but I didn't bother her. She soaked in the sunshine. This new home may not be so bad afterall.
"How old are you anyway?" Good-natured curiosity sparkled in her brilliant blue eyes.

Re: Tinker's New Garden
Her voice was beautiful to his ears and her defense of his ramblings lifted his spirits in a way he wasn't quite expecting.
But when she asked his age a dark foreboding crept over him. He knew he must look his age so it shouldn't be a surprise but he feared scaring her off. He wasn't old but neither was he the young and spry cat he once was, like she is. "Too old for you, I'm sure." He ducked his head, dejected. "If I'm remembering correctly, I recall four frosts passing since I've lived here." He looked up sheepishly. "My name's Torro, by the way. Would I be able to get yours?"

Re: Tinker's New Garden
Her head cocked to the side. Too old for me? Why would that be?
She found herself enchanted by his awkward bashfulness. She laughed lightheartedly, "I'm Tinker! I'm not sure I really remember any frosts. I bet you've got all kinds of stories from your time." She bounced up to stretch her legs, suddenly aware of how long she'd been sitting in the same position.
"Luckily we'll have all kinds of time now that we live right next to each other so i can hear all of your stories," she purred.

Re: Tinker's New Garden
The sun seemed to be growing hotter. Doesn't even remember a frost? She thinks I'm ancient!
"Tinker," he rolled the name across his tongue. "I love it," he smiled. "It's very cute. It fits you...er...not 'cause 'cute' like how kits are cute...it's just you're very...you're beautiful and you're light, you're easy to talk to...aye," he dropped his chin. "Not like I'm making much of that easiness. I'm sure I'd be much worse if you weren't...you."
Easiness? His stomach churned nauseatingly.

Re: Tinker's New Garden
Tinker struggled to follow his ramblings. She wasn't put off by all of the bouncing around, she actually found it rather entertaining; though she wasn't quite sure what there was to be so worked up about.
"I think maybe you remind me of some cat I knew back when I was just a kit with my mother. I don't remember much from that time so I can't quite place it but you make me feel...sheltered and giggly, like how I felt back then. I'm pretty sure I had all kinds of uncles around. There were lots of older cats, maybe it's one of them."

Re: Tinker's New Garden
An uncle? Torro felt spent. At some point he'd allowed his hopes to rise that maybe this young she-cat could be interested in him.
He stood and shook himself then faced her again with a warm smile. "There's some fun little places around here. I'll show you around sometime if you'd like."
