He still held a grudge against Slatestripe, but he didn't mind that much anymore in StarClan. He yawned, wondering how Bearkit (paw?) was doing. He hadn't seen his son in moons. Hollowstorm walked around the barn he had stayed at last night. He scented a rouge cat, and heard pawsteps. Whipping around with a snarl, he lashed out, but it was too late.The golden tom above him sunk his teeth into Hollowstorm's neck and then bolted away. Hollowstorm coughed, blood spattering across the grass. He muttered,"StarClan, be kind," before he closed his eyes and darkness enfolded him.

Curiosity with the strange had always ended up being Minkpaw's downfall. In this case, though, how could she not resist sating those curiosities, not when the cat she'd been watching for quite some time was... her grandfather. Minkpaw had never even known her father... her other father. Sure, Raccoonpelt had been her Papa, he'd been there for a while, but Raccoonpelt had always spoken of her and her siblings' other father, Flintfang, who'd gone missing and presumed dead during a dog attack on RiverClan. Aunt Reedwhisker had died in that same attack, Minkpaw had heard, and Aunt Silversnow had died later along with Minkpaw's littermate, Martenkit.
There was no use lamenting on all those lost now, since Raccoonpelt and Flintkit had gone missing not long after RiverClan had moved campsites during Gingerstar's rule, leaving Minkpaw all alone after the flood. The harshness of reality had stolen away the innocence of youth, and it had left Minkpaw floundering on her own like a fish out of water for a long time ...and eventually, it had led to her murder.
Flashes of her last few moments among the living took over Minkpaw's vision. Being drowned in Haven Springs, choking on water, unable to even turn and see her attacker. She'd died an unjust death - and the worst part was that Minkpaw wasn't even sure if her murderer was still alive and out there or not.
The pale-furred female had roamed StarClan's lands for a couple moons now, never able to track down her father Raccoonpelt, nor her brother or sister - Flintkit and Martenkit, nor the father and aunt she'd never met - Flintfang and Reedwhisker, and not her aunt Silversnow either.
She'd still been a confused haze, feeling detached and lost, when a StarClanner had stepped into her path and redirected her - they'd likely pitied her. But they'd told her she'd find a family member here, and here she was - silent as a ghost, standing behind Hollowstorm, one-eyed blue gaze fixed up on the back of her grandfather's head. Minkpaw had always been a short cat - frail and weak, the runt of her litter. And she didn't move, not an inch, unsure whether Hollowstorm would turn around on his own accord after he snapped out of whatever reverie he was having or if she was meant to call his name.

When Flutterpaw looked down, her
bleeding body. Her paws were sticky with her
own blood, but it was different. She couldn't
feel it. Flutterpaw understood she died, she
understood she'd been murdered. But when
she looked at Birdsnow, who's face was blank,
and switched to pure fury, and Garlicfeather, attempting
murder on her murderer, and all the other cats
who saw her body and broke into fury, she wept.
The tears streaming down her face, Flutterpaw
walked over to Garlicfeather, fighting Shadowtail.
He wouldn't hear her, but she wished he could...
feel her presence. Know she was safe now, that
she would never suffer again. "I didn't want to
die." she breathed, choking back sobs at the
grief of her mentor. "But I had to, Garlicfeather,
I had to!" her voice was scratchy from sobbing,
and saliva was building in her mouth. Swallowing it,
Flutterpaw buried her muzzle into Garlicfeather's fur,
bloody from her pelt, and it went straight through it.
Her heaving sobs racking her body, Flutterpaw took a
deep breath. "It's okay, Garlicfeather, I'm okay, I'm
alright, everything's alright!" FLutterpaw could barely
stand seeing what she did. With a shuddering breath, she
pulled away, taking one last look at her limp, golden-furred
body, ran toward it, and laid down in it. No luck. Waves
of horror, misery, and depression rained down on her mind, and
Flutterpaw was shaking so hard she couldn't stand it. So, she
ran up, up, up toward the stars, eyes closed and white tears
launching backward as she ran. When Flutterpaw opened her
eyes, She was in a camp of dead cats. Sobbing, she curled up
tight, and wished, begged, and prayed to go home. To her Mentor,
her clan.
Her family.
