Fawnkit yawned. She was sleepy. She might as well take a nap. She lay down a comfortable patch of moss in the nursery, curled up into a tight ball, sighed happily, and quickly fell asleep.

Fawnkit woke up groggily. She opened her eyes, expecting to see the walls of the nursery and her siblings snoring. But instead, all she saw was dead trees all around her, covering up the sky. There was mud on the ground. Everything was dark. Fawnkit was afraid, she was shivering. "W-where am I? It's c-cold out h-h-here. I d-don't like this p-place. M-mother! Get m-me out of h-here!" she cried, desperate to leave this dark, dark, place. She looked up, expecting to see stars, but all she saw was the tops of dead trees. "HELP!"

Fawnkit quieted down, but just a little. "I-I don't know y-you. W-who are you? W-what is D-Dark Forest?" she asked, whimpering in fear. "I w-want M-Mommy!"

Ambergaze sighed then rolled his eyes and sat down "I am Ambergaze, I'm here to teach you how to become the best fighter you can be and you mother is not here but do not worry you'll see her at the end of every lesson" a kit would not be Ambergaze's first choice in a pupil
