Default The Assassin Tenets and the Warrior Code

[Decided to post this since I'm bored and got nothing to do]

Throughout the time of immemorial, the assassin order
had existed for over thousands of years in the shadow of history, influencing the outcome of the decisive events which shaped it. The Assassins follow a guiding philosophy, which was known as the three assassin tenets of the creed, upheld from at least the High Middle Ages until the modern era. It restricted unnecessary slaughter of innocents, preserved the reputation of oneself and of the Order, and was meant to create peace, not only within the world but within the individual. The Assassins had been handing the Creed down orally from generation to generation, ensuring that its message was delivered to and upheld by every member of the Assassin Order. Al Mualim, one of the Mentors of the Order, once remarked that "[they] are nothing if [they] do not abide by the Assassin's Creed." In the ancient Codex of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, it was stated that the Creed cannot be killed, even if all of its followers were. He went on to explain that the Creed was an idea, and even if all records of it were destroyed, it could eventually be reinvented by another.

The Assassin Tenets
1. Stay your blade from the Flesh of an Innocent
2. Hide in Plain Sight
3. Never compromise the Assassin Brotherhood

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Though the Warrior Cats of the clans had only just been around for a couple of years, these cats are to be considered loyal to there own clan and leader, and like the assassin's that follow the three tenets, the Clans themselves follow a code of principle that everyone knows too well, The Warrior Code. The origins of the warrior code could be traced back during when the four clans were founded. The code consists of 10 rules or laws that keep the balance between the four clans which follows.

The Warrior Code
1. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from the other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan’s territory.
3. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.
4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their
warrior name.
7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
8. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.
9. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen
before moonhigh.
10. A gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
11. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
12. No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan.
13. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.
15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

Of course, both the assassins and the warrior cats have lived with there own separate ideas and philosophies, but both had some sort of unique principle of law that defines what they are.
