Sweetberry practically bounced in place, his tangerine eyes bright with elation, "Excellent! I knew you would be perfect for the job--I'll be in touch, my friend. This scheme is coming together more and more every night--those fleabags won't know what hit 'em!" he exclaimed, stamping a paw into the sand.
He tilted his head however, and chuckled a bit to himself, "I think you and I are gonna get along like trees and squirrels. My hidden ace, however...well, while he's all for a crusade against the Dark Forest, he has occasionally referred to me as "the most devout enemy of a good night's sleep in this world and the next" and "the reincarnated specter of a sugar crazed honeybee"." he explained, mocking a particularly familiar posh lilt, "Personally, I'm just flattered that he called me honeybee!" he smirked playfully, "That sound like anybody you know?"

Sweetberry seemed a lot like Eelsting himself and the smoky warrior grinned and fluffed his fur, holding himself back from bouncing ina similar way to the ghostly tom. As for their compatriot, it only took the one relayed sentence for Eel to know exactly who it was and it turned out to be a tom whom he already considered his friend!

“Larskstripe. Definitely Larkstripe.”

Eel didn’t know any other cat with such a specific vocabulary and lilt. Lark was immediately recognizable probably even to mere acquaintances and Eelsting considered them much more than that. They were buds!

“Well, honeybee certainly is a nice nickname. Besides, it’s not like we’re really awake! We’re still sleeping!”

Sweetberry chuckled aloud, “He just likes to be contrary. It’s great that you’re already acquainted. You can tell him that we’ve met, and you’re on board. I have a particular issue at hand, however...Larkstripe may be just a bit too contrary for. You see, often times when powerful cats pop up in the clans there’s a bit of an arms race between StarClan and the Dark Forest. I’ve got a cat I need to win back...but, it’s gonna be hard to get through to her.” Sweetberry explained.
“Do you have any suggestions...or ideas...about how to get through a to a distrustful, murderous warrior who fights like a crazed mountain lion?” He inquired, with a nervous smile, “Frankly, she scares the whiskers off of me.”

That sounded like the Larkstripe Eelsting knew. He was a funny guy and could definitely be contrary but Eel liked that about him. He was always interesting! The smoky Tom perked his ears in response to the mention of an issue that Larkstripe couldn’t necessarily consult on.

“Hmm, a rock?”

Maybe a good bonk on the head would calm her down. Eel knew of course that that wasn’t a fitting answer, but to be honest that cat sounded like a lost cause. He never liked giving up on anyone but how did you get through to someone who scared a Starclan warrior?

“Well, you had her on your side at one point, right? So what was it that made her leave? Just do that but like the opposite. If you think you can win her back than there must be something about her that isn’t dark- use that.”

Sweetberry chuckled lightly, but listened intently, "Hm, yes...she isn't an evil cat per say, but...she allowed the Dark Forest to take hold following a traumatic event, and they've...taken over. She loathes them...but they won't let her go. If I could get her back somehow...she would be a huge advantage." he paused, studying the gray warrior with interest, "Perhaps you can help me. Though, I've taken up too much of your time tonight...think on it, and I'll reconvene with you. I like your style, friend, you don't seem phased by much."

Eelsting chewed his cheek, thinking over Sweetberry’s words. So this mystery cat wasn’t evil but was being controlled through her trauma... It seemed easier to fix than pure evilness but the question was: how? Somehow they’d have to break through that trauma, which definitely wouldn’t be easy.

“Hmm, I’d probably need more information in order to offer good advice but I do think the best bet would be to work with whatever brings out the light in her. There must be something! I personally feel my least moody and dark when I am active and especially with interesting cats. But yes, reconvening sounds fine- I’ll see you then!”
