With the day finally winding down and providing her with the ability to rest, Dusklion turned not to the warrior's den, but towards the camp entrance. Pelt dark like a shadow she slunk out into the night and made her way through the territory on quick paws. She was focused, blue eyes narrowed and already adjusted to the dim nightfall around her. The Starcave was too far to travel to without it being suspicious on where she had been, so the dark tabby had elected for a different approach.

The sounds of the river came to her before the sight of it did, paws slowing down after leaping over a fallen branch. There was no scent of predators or threats nearby, so Dusk came right up to the edge of the current. With the light of the nearly full moon above her she caught sight of an overhang in which she could spend the right. "Paws crossed it works this time," she breathed as she slipped underneath the overhanging foliage, finding the ramshackle nest. It would be an uncomfortable sleep, that was for sure, but she was here to dream. And so the dark tabby circled the thrown-together moss nest and curled up, tucking her nose under her paw but keeping her ears perked, letting the sounds of the river drift away with her...

Opening her eyes only a bit, Dusklion had been expecting to see RiverClan's territory. So when she realized it was different - more.. ethereal than the forest below - she scrambled to her paws in excitement. "I did it??" came the shocked discovery as she spun around in circles, eventually looking out around her. This was StarClan! She was sure of it. Joy tingled her paws as the RiverClan warrior spun around once more - a gasp tumbling from her as she spotted a familiar shape.

"Fury!" Now, Dusklion was well aware that the StarClan tom likely didn't know who she was outside of her name. But she knew him, just like she knew Bitey and Lions. "I finally did it! You don't know how long I've been tryin' to get here - 'n now I'm here! 'N so are you!" It was evident the pure bliss she was experiencing. Paws flexed where she stood, tail waving with pride. Who else could say they got to spend their dreams with one of the greatest warriors to ever grace RiverClan??

His single eye appeared first, bright green and soul-piercing in the dark, and the rest of him followed, dissolving seemingly from the ocean of stars above itself just in time for Dusklion to spot him. The stars around his paws flickered before they peeled off into a mist that followed his steps, only diverting once he stopped in front of the RiverClan warrior.

For a moment, Goosefury remained silent, as if turning his words over in his head while she burst into excitement and the mist swirled around her legs and the surrounding undergrowth. He raked his gaze over her, jaw working. The longer his silence stretched, the darker the forest became, until it seemed the only light sources were the stars flickering high above and the occasional lightning bug that danced around them.

"You have made a very grave choice." When he finally spoke, his voice mirrored the icy chill that settled over the forest - unwavering. "Accidental... or not. Fallownose served WindClan for several seasons and now to them, it appears as if he's been slaughtered in cold blood. Twilightstar isn't likely to take this without drawing the blood of your Clanmates or your brother, do you understand that?"

To say that the expectations going into eventually seeing Fury again were high and wrapped in golden admiration would've been an understatement. Dusklion wasn't naive enough to think the famed old RiverClan Lionheart knew of her all that much, but she had the hope that he would welcome her with open paws, perhaps tell her how wrong it had been that she hadn't gotten the deputy spot but her brother had. He would tell her that he'd help her to leadership maybe, and really fix RiverClan.

This... this was not at all what she had expected. The silence stretched long like shadows in front of a setting sun, an icy breeze causing Dusk's fur to stand on end. Immediately the grin on her features morphed into a stunned frown. All around her legs mist snaked, enveloping the ground until the fog was all around them. A slight jolt of fear struck her as she blinked, suddenly very aware of all of the mistakes she had made - most notably, killing WindClan's deputy.

"I didn't think he'd not move out of the way!" Dusklion couldn't help but blurt out, recalling the way the tom's eyes had widened as her blow had struck. She had known lunging for him that she was severely disadvantaged, and yet it had been his blood that painted the moors that day, not hers. Swallowing the lump in her throat, she narrowed her gaze. "It was an accident, but if you think I'm gonna apologize you've got the wrong cat. If WindClan comes for us... we can hold our own. I know we can."

Even as the head Lionheart spoke she felt the doubt creep in. They had been all but wiped from the forest after ThunderClan's raid - WindClan had formidable strength and the structure that RiverClan had been lacking for seasons. Now, with the death of Fallownose, they had grief on their side too; Dusklion knew how powerful an emotion it could be.
