A part of him felt shame bubbling up for being late, but Wormbite always found himself with intense amounts of guilt. It was nothing new. He listened to his punishment, seemed fitting. One prey for himself, one for Lobsterbite. With a nod of his head and without another word, Wormbite set off limping out of camp.

Firelight approached Gingerfrost from the prey pile. “I’ve done my punishment and caught four pieces of prey.” Hopefully, that report was good enough for the deputy.
Antlerstreak padded over to where Gingerfrost was waiting, “I did my job, and I caught a mouse, as well. I dropped it off at the prey pile. I apologize for not getting the patrol done the first time. It will never happen again.”
He dipped his head respectfully in apology.

I also removed the rotten prey - " A slight grimace appeared across his face, "Nine pieces. Stars above, " He shook his head, looking back towards the deputy. "My lateness will not happen again, " He vowed - a spark in his eyes that said it was genuine.

Blackstone returns from hunting and dropping the prey at the prey plie. He looks at Gingerfrost before he eyes the ground. He looks like a failure - becaus ehe knows he is.

One by one, the punished began to file back in, each with their report. Some were more complete than others, but ultimately they all did what they had to do and reported back. He just hoped it would be under a patrol next time, not this. He gave each member a light, though serious, nod, looking stern like he should be in such a situation (though frankly, it was exhausting and he just wanted to sleep). Gingerfrost's braw momentarily twitched when Wormbite came and told him of nine rotten pieces of prey (and that after he'd been rather on top of disposing of them). The clan complained about not having enough prey to feed everyone, yet letting nice pieces go to waste. "Thank you, Wormbite."
He muttered to the older feline, knowing full well he wouldn't be able to see his nod as he stepped back to face everyone again. "Not again."
Was all he said before waving each of their dismissals, just about ready to return to his nest and sleep.
The sun had risen to the sky, and that meant it was now time for the things he disliked most: patrol punishments. Gingerfrost huffed as he positioned himself within the clearing, paws shifting above the sand. He scanned the surrounding area, noting who was and wasn't up already. He'd certainly be waking some felines up like this. Sorry to them. "Sleepywolf, Whitesnake, Raccoonear and Pondheart! None of you reported back to your patrols. Unless you can give me a valid reason right now, go back out and each of you, and catch at least two pieces of prey. Don't forget to put it on the preypile before reporting back.
Sleepywolf and Whitesnake go to Lionsbeach; Racconear and Pondheart return to Have Springs."

Now on to the batch of previous patrols. Fogcloud had informed him very few reported back, and the fact rather bugged him. It was needless to say he felt a little disappointed, though perhaps it was partially his fault as well. He needed to be more assertive. "Gingerpaw, Silversnow, Bluebellpaw, Darktwist! Heard you four never reported back either. Same as before, lest you can give me a good reason, you're going back out. Silversnow, Bluebellpaw - you two return to the ShadowClan border. Darktwist, you're taking Gingerpaw hunting at Cattail Pond. Bring back at least two pieces of prey."

The young warrior's shoulders slump as the sweet little optimist allows herself to welcome the punishment. Better now than later, yes? She thinks to herself in disappointment. She then looks at the one who told her to go to Haven Springs, and so she does.
With bleary eyes, the molly had padded from the warriors den to see Gingerfrost. What was going on..? Hadn't Darktwist- Oh. Starsdammit.
With a sigh, Silversnow met Gingerfrost quickly. "Y'know what, I accept it. I shoulda checked with you to see if Darktwist had ever reported. We'll be back soon, man. C'mon, Blue. Let's get 'er goin."
With that, Silversnow padded to the ShadowClan border.
