Rippleshade showed up which was nice but Lioncloud wasn't saying anything for some reason.. It was no matter as Bearbranch was sure he just was paying more attention to the patrol. "Hello Rippleshade, i'm glad you could make it." Bearbranch said in a soft tone. He was also hoping they didn't find anything on this patrol. Since Lioncloud was just standing there he figured it'd be a good idea to just go on with the patrol. He nodded to Rippleshade and made his way to the border.
He went around making sure the stones were marked near the border but he noticed something. Feathers, lots of feathers, and a weird scent that was oddly strong that seemed to be.. ShadowClan.

As Bearbranch looked closer, he got a little sad. It was an owl. Owls were perhaps his favorite creatures, he loved to listen to them and the flap of their wings was so serene. So it saddened him a little and for once you could see a little emotion on his face and he wanted to leave as soon as possible. "Its an owl.. and It seems to have ShadowClan scent all over it... Rippleshade if you've done your marking I think i'm going to report this patrol to Wolffang, I don't know where Lioncloud went so I'll just turn it in." He actually wasn't paying attention to whether Rippleshade had marked around or not. But hopefully he did because Bearbranch didn't want to be near here anymore because it felt a bit eerie as it seemed liked all the animals were avoiding this area. There was no sound at all.

Emberlight stalked the border, her fur raised as her left eye scanned the undergrowth.

What was she doing here? What would this accomplish? She didn’t know herself. She had spent quiet a lot of time in the medicine den, for both the injuries Grimhound gifted her with and for her own mental health. The once strong minded and optimistic molly was now was quieter and more interesting in other “things.” Well, not plural things but rather a singular thing.

Grimhound.

The Shadowclan warriors eyes haunted her dreams, nightmares, and visions. Emberlight would catch her self imagining him creeping closer to her, his savage smile both enticing and terrifying. It was twisted how much she thought about the tom. At first it was hatred, hatred for her missing sight, and hatred for beating and killing her clan mate. But then it began to change, change into admiration and awe.

There was no denying that the Shadowclan tom was devilishly handsome but it was his confidence and eyes that caught Emberlight in a choke hold.

She had began to wonder why he didn’t kill her. What was it in him that took her clanmates life but let her live? Was she special?

Her ear twitched as she heard a snap on the other side of the border. Her head twisted and her crouched into a defensive position, she could already see those amber eyes coming through the undergrowth—

A frog leaped out past the shrubbery, spooking Emberlight. With her fur raised she breathed heavily, her eyes wide.

What was happening?! Why was she this way?? She was seeing those stupid eyes everywhere.

Panic started seizing her bloody and a flash of cold ran through her pelt.

How could she be acting this way?? To a cat that killed her clan mate no worse!

She let herself drop to her stomach and she pressed her head down, letting out a loud sob as she felt a anxiety attack start.

Why was this happening, why couldn’t she stop thinking of that evil, malicious, diabolical cat??

Tears threatened to fall from her eye as she pressed her head further into the ground.

There was no denying it any longer, she wanted to see him again. But for what? She didn’t know.

Her body shook as she hiccuped through her sobs, her guard down and her mind broken. She stayed in her position for a while, until her attack began to pass and Emberlight had no more tears left to cry. She weakly got to her paws, her remaining eye dark and hollow. With one more glance at the Shadowclan territory she turned and began to pad back to camp.

Whatever was to happen next didn’t really matter anymore, all that mattered was that she would get to see GrimHound again, but that was something she would dream about and conquer later. She was too tired to think anymore.

Rookpaw was finally at the Whispering Wetlands. Her immediate reaction was eyes wide as she smelled the border, way further than it should be. She was almost tempted to fix this injustice, not that it would bring back the lives lost. She just wanted to get this over with. Normally she didn't care about politics but...what if her friend Deadpaw was next?
