Nettlenose's sharp nose twitched at he snuck through the undergrowth. Though he had a two mice and a squirrel hanging from his jaws, he couldn't help but atempt to find some more prey, even in the last few fox-lengths to the entrance of camp. His tail the tip of the snake that was his body, he slithered about the growth and kept his amber gaze narrowed and aware. Left and right, left and right, his orbs scanned the area. He oulled back his whiskers and finally... CLUNK! The rough bark of an oak stopped him in his tracks. He looked forward, and between his eyes was the dark trunk of the tree he'd ran into. He felt his face grow hot with embarrassment, his paws shake as he side-stepped quickly out of the way.

The short steps he took towards the entrance were carefully placed as he nerveswere in high alert. Nettlenose cast his gaze around him before dashing the last few strides into the camp, ears folded. Fox dung! He cursed, flashing a smile at Fogfire. At her side within moment, he spat out his prey.

"Nice catch," the tabby mewed. He twitched his tail towards her squirrel. Nettle knew she didn't have as much experience as a regular ThunderClan cat, having grown up in RiverClan for a while. He was impressed by her ability to snatch the squirrel, even he struggled with his own.

Too embarrassed to brag, and too preaccupied with the prospective bump that was to be forming on his forehead to strike up conversation, he only asked, "Any sign of Thunderstrike?"

Fogfire's gaze snapped to Nettlenose, a smile on her face. "Thanks! You did well, too." She couldn't help but smugly note that she did indeed have the better catch. Though she wouldn't be able to say she truly won the small competition until Thunderstrike came back. At this thought, and Nettlenose's question, she turned her attention back to the camp entrance.

"No, not yet," She replied, a short sigh escaping her. "He's, uh, probably just taking his time... or he got distracted by another pretty molly." The last part of her sentence was directed more to herself, though it wasn't as quiet as she had intended it to be. "Um," Fogfire stuttered, embarrassed. "He might be a while." Hurt and anger sparked deep in her belly, but she forced all signs of it away and instead put a smile to her face. "That silly tom probably just hasn't been able to catch anything and doesn't want to come back with nothing," the grey feline joked.

She fell quiet for a moment, tracing patterns in the ground with her paw. Desperately racking her brain for a topic of conversation- anything to make this less awkward- Fogfire finally moved her gaze back to Nettlenose. She eyed the bump on his forehead- that certainly wasn't there before! "Hey, what happened?" She questioned curiously, narrowing her eyes as she examined it. "That looks like it hurts."

"Hmm..." DarkKit narrowed his eyes as he thought hard. "I never really did anything before...cause my mother was so strict, I was scared to even wake up...but now, now I like to be with you..." His eyes glistened and he yawned, the sun sapling his golden pelt, dust particles falling around him like shredded gold. He felt like a god.

"Okay. I love to hang out with you too. I like to go out of camp with my sister and mother. Hey we're going for a walk later you want to come?" meowed Hopekit. She looked at him with a smile and a flutter of her blue-green eyes. She began to purr really loud.

The grey tabby tom smiled back at her and noticed the grin upon her muzzle. He was happy she'd-- most likely-- beaten him, it gave him a chance to remind himself that nobody's perfect.

His eyes, too, glanced at the entrance, awaiting the moment that the other male's head would pop out, full of prey or not. His tail twitched impatiently. The trio had been out in the woods for a least two hours, what was taking him so long? Nettlenose knew that some of his frustration was drawn from the heated interaction Thundersrike had forced him into earlier. What had gotten into him to make him lash out?

Nettle didn't want to dwell on the subject. Allowing himself to analyze Fogfire's words, he could tell that she was upset with her own thoughts. The idea of Thunderstrike chatting up another molly embarrassed her. He began to question, not aware of his boundaries. "I've often seen him around camp, a different molly every time," He mentioned, "It must be hard to get him out of camp, let alone back in, with that kind of manor." The cool sense around Nettle was soon to be wiped clean.

An instant wave of hot embarrassment rolled over him, an insulating blanket of emotion. Shoot! "Oh, yeah.." Nettlenose stuttered out, managing only two words. He drew back his ears and whiskers, cheeks and audits warm. "I-- Uh, ran into something on my way here," The tabby squeaked, "I was-- uh-- chasing a hare, no-- a bird, and this tree, it came out of no where..." He winced from the aching pain. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears, echoing with the pulsating pain of the bump. "Yeah, it hurts a little bit." Nettlenose mentally prepared himself for an eruption of laughter, a grim look on his face.

Fogfire opened her mouth, not quite sure what to say. Yes, you're right. It's very hard to go anywhere with him without being pushed to the side every time whenever some other cat comes up. What's wrong with me? Why can't he just like me? But no, instead he likes every other she-cat besides me! She couldn't say this, though, so she stayed quiet, forcing a blank look on her face. She didn't dare look over at Nettlenose, instead keeping her attention on the entrance as if Thunderstrike would actually come back.

She was more than relieved when the topic of conversation changed, and she was able to focus back on the tom besides her. "Well, your attitude sure changed quickly," she gently teased, brown eyes sparkling. Fogfire took in his grim look, and quickly dropped her smile. "Hey, don't look so down. It happens to the best of us. I mean, I haven't ran into any trees per say, but I do a great deal of falling into rivers. It's a good thing I know how to swim!" Attempting to brighten the conversation again, the fluffy cat turned the teasing attention onto herself.

"I hope it's not too serious, though," Fogfire added on afterwards. "Do you feel dizzy? Unable to concentrate? Is it hot?" Hesitating momentarily, she raised her nose to feel the bump. "No, it's not hot," she answered her own question. The grey molly pulled back, embarrassment suddenly clutching her. "Sorry if that hurt. I was just- um- worried." Her voice was hushed as she went back to tracing patterns in the dirt, something she found herself doing quite often now as a way to distract herself.
